Room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. Location of the hotel was perfect- close to Gastown, close to Yaletown, close to the bridge to cross over, and right next to the Expo if you're going to an event. Nice that 7-11 was closeby too to get water. I felt safe here as a female traveling alone.

My go-to accommodation when carless in Vancouver, Stayed many times. Strongly support the principles to which the profits go. Apart from hostels, only reasonably priced accommodation that also caters for single Travellers. Always very clean, helpful and efficient staff, a welcoming environment, comfortable beds, good coffee, and great security in a safe area of the city with many eatery options. As long as I come to Vancouver, I will stay here.

Unfortunately, this time, the room needed maintenance - banged up walls, loose rail, smelly fridge, and raucously noisy air conditioner/heating (?). Very happy I could take out my hearing aids and get a good night's sleep. Only one shower/toilet and one other toilet on the floor causing congestion occasionally. My room was well away from these, making for interesting night excursions and encounters passing the elevators, especially for older seniors. Need more. The tariff has risen significantly. Although that is understandable being in a prime location, is the quality there?

Fantastic location, downtown Vancouver, near some major attractions, easy to walk from the Sky Train. Very neat and clean, good security for access to the building, and for controlling access to shared bathrooms. Good amenities - nice little coffee machine in the lobby, kitchens on multiple floors (although we didn't cook here), and great to still have a sink in your room so you can wash hands/face/brush teeth without needing to use the shared bathroom. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Can't beat the value for money, especially for downtown Vancouver! Also really like that by staying at the YWCA we're contributing to community causes.

We knew what we were getting and found it fine, but a shared bathroom is certainly not everyone's thing - make sure you're aware of what you book! Also the heat wasn't working in our room, so it was cold overnight; but we should just have reported it earlier, as the staff actioned a repair as soon as we mentioned it on check-out.

The location was much better than I expected, in that it was close to the waterfront, supermarkets, downtown, and public transit. I really enjoyed my nightly walks along the Coastal Trail. The rooftop deck was really nice too. The shared bathrooms were surprisingly usually available.

Coffee & tea were only available in the mornings, and there were no coffee makers or water kettles in either the rooms or kitchens. I was also charged a different price than what I was quoted on Booking.com. I told the person at check in that she was charging me a different price, however she said it probably had to do with the conversion rate. This doesn't make sense because the charges on the bill were written in Canadian dollars so no currency was being converted. Sometimes the shared bathroom was a bit messy, but that's not the fault of the housekeeping, just the other guests.

I was traveling alone and wanted to save some money, so I chose the option with shared bathroom. I was worried about that, but it was better than I expected. I liked the room very much. There was enough space (for 1 person) and reasonable equipment / layout. The bed was comfortable and I always managed to rest well. I liked the location of the hotel, it was easy to get around the city. I had two stays for multiple nights here, and would most likely choose this option again.

Although I had no problems, I still believe that 1 shared washroom per floor is not enough. Could be quite difficult to stay here with some stomach issues. All the room doors were pretty noisy and the sound isolation from the corridor was poor.

Greta location, right by the stadium & Gas town! And also a short walk into the centre. Arrived a little earlier than check in due to finishing a tour, but the room was ready & they allowed me to check in on time. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and even though I had a shared bathroom, it was always accessible & I never had to wait to use it. It was also meticulously clean which was a lovely surprise… I’ve staying in lots of similar places with mixed experiences! I was only here for a night but for sure would be happy to stay longer!

Superbly located walkable close to everything. Excellent coffee in the mornings. Friendly and feels very safe. Socially responsbile so your $ is going to great causes. Would definitely book again.

Facilities listed weren't always available. The upper patio was "closed" for a private function which was really awkward for guests who turned up like me and got sent away. (maybe let the guests know prior?)... At one point there was a sign putting every washroom on 5 floors out of order for works. Luckily they backed down on that later in the afternoon and opened some more up again.

It is a hidden gem in a big city like Vancouver. The price, the location, the values like it is a non-profit hotel, little details like best free coffee/tea in the morning, sweet little gift after tagging them on social media and ease of payment will blow your mind. You can literally travel anywhere in the city from the spot using the most effective public transport methods. The room sizes, the views everything was amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to ANYONE literally. May it be hostel seeking younger lot, families, or older age groups. I wish this was available everywhere around Canada.

Convenient location for someone arriving by long-distance train and unsure of exact timing. Quiet, if not exactly scenic (quiet meant overlooking the alley rather than the stadium). Entertained by watching sports fans flood in for major games—the energy under the dome was something. Not opulent, but the rooms are comfortable and the facilities are practical: Fridge and microwave in the room, shared kitchen on some of the floors, laundry facilities. Near restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance of grocery stores (IGA, Loblaws, Urban Fare). Close to the harbour for walks and harbour ferries. Have stayed here several times in the past 20 years, and should be back.
