The Victorian Hotel exceeded my expectations. I had last stayed there in 2012, and it has since been beautifully renovated. The rooms & bathrooms are well designed & polished. The bed mattress was very comfortable & the Nespresso machine in the room was appreciated, since breakfast is not available in the hotel. The hotel now has an elevator, a great addition to this historic building. The location near Gastown is fantastic. The reception staff members were all wonderfully helpful with anything we needed, from directions to the use of public transport & restaurant recommendations. There is a flagship Loblaws City Market just 1.5 blocks from the hotel, where you can get anything you might need.

We were wowed by the overall tasteful decor, cleanliness and style of the Victorian Hotel. The modern upgrades are elegant and tasteful while keeping aspects of the buildings unique history alive. The room was spacious, beds were exceptional and the staff was amazing. It was our daughter's 10th birthday, when they found out they snuck a birthday surprise of special treats into our room while we were out! Incredibly thoughtful and customer oriented. The location is excellent, easy to get to anything you need downtown Vancouver and just far enough from the sketchy zone. All around 11/10 and we will be back!

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. As a "small double", the space was very compact, but cozy for one person. The decor was modern, including stylish, updated bathroom fixtures. The room included a soft bathrobe, a safe, a mini-fridge with single-serve milk/creamers in it, and a small coffee/tea station. There was a window air conditioner that worked well. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location is an easy walk to the waterfront, a Skytrain station, and all kinds of downtown shops and restaurants.

The bathroom was so small that there wasn't enough space between the toilet and counter to stand in front of the counter. The room design addressed this by putting the sink at the end of the counter, but it made using the mirror and electrical sockets awkward. There were frosted windows, so the room was reasonably light but there was no way to see out. There was no chair and no closet, only a suitcase stand. Parts of the neighbourhood immediately around the hotel are fine, others are run-down -- I didn't feel unsafe, but was vigilant when coming back in the evening.

This is a particularly well maintained and comfortable hotel in the Gastown area of Vancouver.  The staff are friendly and helpful, particularly Sandeep, who sorted a small issue that that we had.  The rooms are clean, well appointed and comfortable.  I did find the air conditioner a bit noisy, but other than that, I cannot fault our room.  We had a nice big bed and probably the best shower we had on this trip. There is no restaurant or breakfast available, you may want to consider this but there are loads of coffee shops in the area.

Nice big room in downtown Vancouver, good location to walk around the city and go to cafes and bars. Good facilities despite the upgrade works that were taking place at the hotel - fresh cool water and fruit were available to grab and go - useful for us as we were getting out and exploring every day. Air conditioning as well was very welcome.

Not the hotel's fault, but there were some homeless on the next corner over from the hotel. A fairly common site in Vancouver so not a big issue, but made it feel unsafe when we first arrived.

The rooms are stylishly appointed and spotlessly clean. The service was friendly and very accommodating. The location is excellent, putting you in walking distance of transit, Gastown, and plenty of downtown amenities. You get a nespresso machine in your room which is perfect for a coffee lover like me.

There isn't really a place in the room to put your laptop where you can comfortably sit and use it. This is a niche problem for me because my laptop is huge and therefore doesn't really fit on my lap. There's also no breakfast service. There are however plenty of great breakfast places in walking distance :)

Outside the hotels control, however, we were aggressively pushed and followed by a homeless man outside the hotel. Staff were helpful in locking the door. High numbers of drug use and homelessness in the hotel area.

This cute hotel is located in an excellent location, is clean, and had excellent recommendations of local things to do.

We were on the 3rd floor facing the street. It is most definitely noisy at night but we figured out turning on the ac unit helped not only keep the room cool but to drown out the street noise. It is good to know there are a few blocks that are sketchy. There are some homeless around, public urination, and drug use happening, but it wasn't threatening to us as we walked by. We made sure to be safe at night.

The Victorian Hotel was in a convenient location, clean and stylishly decorated. Our room was equipped with everything we needed, I particularly liked the spacious and powerful shower. The staff were always helpful and friendly.

Although aware when booking, we would have like a place to have breakfast within the hotel. However, there was quite of bit of building work going on at the time of our stay, so we did wonder whether they were going to include a breakfast room in their plans.

The room was perfect. The employees were great. There wasn’t anything more they could have done to make our stay better. The parking situation was totally out of their control. We liked that where we stayed was within walking distance to the revolving restaurant.

Street noise was terrible until 11:00 pm then it quieted down. Parking left much to be desired. Parking a block away was unacceptable for a senior citizen and a handicapped individual. We were finally given a parking spot on site and a employee went and retrieved our vehicle for us.
