The location is right in the downtown, from where the Steamclock is a few yards away. The views and neighborhood are really nice, loaded with all restos, pubs, etc. The property itself has 2 bars attached to it which provides some discount to the guests. The kitchen cum common room is also good with all the amenities present. Overall this hostel solves the purpose.

The restrooms are very narrow; the basins are so small, that no one can avoid water splashing out into the floor. There is no water connection provided inside the latrines, where persons from Asia would certainly have trouble. The janitors do a good job though, by thoroughly cleaning and sanitising the restrooms every day. I would request the management to replace the basins with bigger ones, and provide taps and small hose pipes near the commode for latrine purposes.

We stayed here just a week earlier, so most comments will be same: Pleasant desk staff let us into our room VERY early; also kept our bags safe for a while after we checked out. Only short walk from cruise port at Canada Place. Also very convenient to the Expo line tram to the VIA rail station. Free coffee, hot water, teabags, and use of fridge in common kitchen. We were each given a 20% off coupon (good for 2) for lunch at the bar downstairs. Each of us got a towel, bed linens, and a bed comforter. Our room this time was much better: it had a padded seat, plus a table, in addition to the basic bed and stools. Also the room’s 1 power socket was by the bed. We liked the fact that there was no rug on the floor. We slept well - didn’t hear noise from the bar.

We stayed here just a week earlier, so most comments will be same: We knew Toronto lodging was expensive, so minimal facilities for a relatively high price here were expected. Many stairs needed to access the 2nd floor. FYI Whatever room you get, 1 gender’s shared bathroom will be on that level and the other gender’s bathroom will require more steps.

Great location, felt very safe, comfy bed. Fun bar downstairs. Luggage storage was super helpful as I had a late night flight day of checkout and didnt want to be lugging around my suitcase all day. I loved the exposed brick and historic look of the building. Bathrooms were always clean. Stayed here once before and am looking forward to a third stay. Close to the skytrain and bus stops. Forgot to pack towel and was able to rent one.

No complaints. It was great.

Exceptional location, easy access to transit and a short distance from many attractions. Friendly, charismatic, and supportive staff present 24 hrs to assist with issues. All around high quality experience.

It's a hostel, so expect hostel-like facilities. The room felt wet, and needed an open window and fan for clothes a d towels to dry/not feel damp after hanging. The WiFi resets frequently, requiring re-entry of credentials. One night, external noise was excessive and bass vibrations rattled my bunk.

The location was excellent! I was well within waling distance to the Vancouver Art Gallery, Gastown, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Harbourfront, and even the ferry to Granville Island. It was incredibly central and well-located. The bed was much more comfortable than I anticipated, making each night a lovely sleep. The room was clean and cute.

The bathrooms left a bit to be desired. They were simple facilities, and the showers often ran cold. It would be nice to get a reminder in the pre-arrival email to bring towels and flip-flops for the facilities. I wasn't aware there was a charge for towels in particular. It was a bit noisy, you could hear folks in the hallway and using the bathroom, but I still managed to sleep quite well as a light sleeper.

I would give it a 10 out of 10 if they had an elevator so that it was more accessible for people with disabilities. However they did do their best to accommodate me for a second floor unit so that I didn't have to go up too many stairs but I still struggled. Location was great. Beds were surprisingly comfortable! It would be nice if it included breakfast in your stay.

The noise of downtown made it a little hard to sleep but if you bring earplugs it should be fine. I would also appreciate if checkout was at noon instead of at 11:00.

Room is small, one bunk bed with two chairs, but bunk beds are good size and comfortable. Location is really good, we will book again for this location. It will be better with one small desk. The bathroom with two toilets and two shower, both are clean. There are not many people while we were there.

Only a bunk bed with two chairs, not even a small desk. The building looks really old, may be some painting or maintenance can make it look better. and window area is very dirty.

Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Location was great for walking. Staff were kind! Check in and out was easy and the multi level locked doors and cameras made us feel safe!

The bed was very hard which was disappointing. The location for parking was not good. Everything around was very unsafe and despite trying our best, our car was broken into. Would have loved to have know this at the time of booking or been given some solid advice on where to park when I asked at check in.

This was a surprisingly clean and safe hostel. We were looking for an alternative for 2 nights before our cruise. All of the other hotels are so expensive! We decided to give our first go at a hostel and we were not disappointed. Keep in mind, this is a place to sleep and shower. You will have a bed and small table in your room. The bathrooms are cleaned every day. You are supplied with one towel. We did not need anything else. The cooking area is a common, shared space with other tenants who showed respect and courtesy. I would stay here again.

The alley behind the hostel is a local hangout at night for the homeless. They urinate in between the dumpsters (or worse). There isn't much the hostel can do about this, I understand. Just know that this part of town gets a bit hairy at night.

check in was very smooth, bed was comfortable, luggage storage, nice bar connected to the hostel. Front desk was accommodating and pleasant. Bathroom was clean. Easy 30 minute metro ride to the airport, I took the first available trip in the morning and made my 7am flight with checked bag with time to spare.

the bunk bed was comfy but a bit flimsy. i was on the top, and could feel the bed moving when the other person moved at night.
