The impressive architecture and luxurious furnishings with century-old lighting, combined with the welcoming staff and comfortable rooms, confirm this place's long-standing reputation. The restaurants at this property are fabulous! (Generally requires previous reservation, including to guests) The spa experience is also luxurious, with high-quality cosmetics and amenities in the rooms and bathrooms. The fitness center is open 24/7 and offers a full range of equipment. The hotel has a nearby swimming center with discounts for guests. They probably have everything you need... If you can, come... It's certainly a piece of Winnipeg's history and identity.

The hotel is rented for events and conferences, which may interfere somewhat with the experience of guests more sensitive to noise and crowded places, once they are in the lobby, restaurants and other common areas.

Location was excellent. We walked to many places. The best::::::: Beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable as well as towels and linens. Loved the bathrobes. Restaurant made the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had, hands down. Cleanliness was exceptional throughout the facility. Self parking was convenient. Staff were friendly and first rate.

TV was terrible to figure out, no instruction - channel guide was impossible, very poor programming. Would have expected cable, movie channel and other. Definitely need to upgrade. Hair dryer needs to be upgraded to more power. I have fine hair and it took forever to dry. Very unusual. Room 515 was a bit noisy from surrounding area. Not sure if people were moving furniture above us or what but every morning early it occurred.

This is a beautifully maintained historic hotel with plenty of amenities on site. Our room was beautifully appointed with a mixture of period pieces and more modern touches. The bed was comfortable, the white goose down duvet and the pillows were lovely. It was very clean! The ceilings are very high so even though the room wasn’t terribly large, it felt spacious. The shower’s water pressure and temperature were great. My husband and I are both tall and appreciated that the rain shower fixture was at a perfect height for us. I appreciated the products provided in terms of shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, etc. which were L’Occitane de Provence. The staff were friendly and we saw several employees maintaining the cleanliness of the hallways and stairwells. We ate at one of the restaurants on site, Oval Brasserie, and we had a delicious meal surrounded by lovely decor in this beautiful space. The parking on their dedicated lot was reasonably priced at $22 and access to the hotel from the parking was easy (one revolving door leading straight into the main level and lobby). Being that it was downtown we weren’t sure how clean and safe it would be around the hotel but we were very pleasantly surprised. It is a lovely area just across from the historic train station. We were walking distance to the Museum of Human Rights.

I had stayed at the Fort Garry twice in the past and remembered the amazing breakfast, with a buffet and a chef that just created whatever you asked for. It was part of why I wanted to come again. Except there is no breakfast anymore. You can buy breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel but it's just not the same. Even though the eggs benny that I ordered were good, I would also have been able to get equally good eggs in various restaurants around. So that was a real letdown. But of course I could have read more about this. I just assumed it had not changed from my previous trips - which were quite a few years ago I admit.

We have stayed at the Fort Garry many times but on this visit we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and your staff made us feel like royalty!!! Pauline (So engaging and personable , lovely and very helpful in securing reservations for the Terrace , mixologist Justin (a joy to visit with, made us feel special), and then Mike from the Terrace, who made the two nights on the Terrace so much fun. We were also impressed with the music on the Terrace, fun easy listening, we enjoyed it very much. Thank you so much for making our anniversary so memorable.

The room was quiet and peaceful with good customer service. Overall, a great place to stay. It was my birthday so I was allowed 1 night of free parking. Thanks to the staff who helped to make my day more special.

There was no refrigerator or microwave available in my room which was very inconvenient as my food was spoiled and I could not buy what I really needed as no fridge to put perishable foods in or microwave to warm meals. This is the 1st hotel I had stayed in without any of these provided in the rooms .

The location was great; easy access to The Forks, restaurants, and transportation. The hotel is old and gracious, and all parts of the hotel were elegant. The bedroom was large, and featured a fold out couch, a king size bed, and a lot of space. The coffee in the lobby in the morning was a wonderful bonus after an early check-out.

I could hear people in the next room talking, which was annoying. There was also a lot of door slamming as people entered and left their rooms.

Love the beds at the Hotel Fort Garry, they are always wonderful. We always enjoy character hotels, and the Hotel Fort Garry is one of our favorite. The staff is always helpful and pleasant, and the food is always excellent.

The hotels Christmas decorations were still up, although not lit. The fact they were still out was a little odd, but didn't impact our stay in any significant way, just unusual since our stay was in April.

Breakfast was great and wait staff was great. Food at Terrace was great but overpriced, in my opinion. The entertainment at the Terrace was excellent and the staff was fantastic.

I take issue with your parking practices. I don’t believe that I should have to pay extra for parking when I am staying at the hotel. Also, the oarking spaces are extremely small. I had trouble fitting in and I drive a small car.

We love the ambiance of the hotel. We loved that it was kept in its original style with the doors, the ceilings the light fixtures. We especially loved the oval room restaurant architecture. We really enjoyed that we could walk everywhere where we needed to go from the hotel and not have to use our car.

The breakfast we had the last day was not as good as we would’ve expected.
