My only challenge with my room was the shower drain was near the entrance to the shower and the water would not go down the grate fast enough so it ran into the bathroom floor and I had to put towels down. Also, you couldn’t close the shower, so water splashed out. Secondly, please provide a top sheet for the bed. Sleeping under a comforter now knowing who slept on it the night before wasn’t pleasant.

The house is wonderful and we loved our rooms. The lounge areas on each floor was also wonderful for us a group. The elevator is super cute and they really made an effort to keep its old world charm.
The only thing I didn’t like about the room was the AC that was very loud and just habe one fan speed - which was full blast. But were able to turn it off! The location is convenient. And the tram in front of the door makes it easy to move around. We were a bit surprised that the area feels a bit run down but then again lots of restaurants and nice cafes 10-15min walking distance.

Beautiful old heritage building. Nice staff and clean comfortable rooms. Close to downtown and many restaurants.
The layout of the room. There should be some closet or proper clothes rack. The metal bar is literally hanging too close to the bed so you hit your head on it constantly. I wish the sink was in the bathroom as well. It was literally a heat wave in Toronto and the hotel does not have water in the lobby. A couple of bottles of water per room plus some kind of ice machine would make the quests feel taken care of. I know this hotel will sell rooms by virtue of its arty design however a couple simple tweaks would do wonders. Also no real cable tv…needs smart tvs.

Funky and Fun Excellent service Quiet room and clean and comfortable bed Nice shower Nespresso machine in hallway and kettle in room Great location for shops, restaurants and the Parkdale Collegiate Insitute only 1 km that we attended for a Graduation LOVED the elevator and history of the place, artistic renderings in rooms with history and, photos throughout hotel. There is a nice lounge area where you can play chess and another where you can play billiards. Great wi fi Paid $411.50 for one night. And that’s with a discount. A bit pricey but so worth it for the fun and convenience it offered us.
Pouring rain when we arrived, so parking not that convenient being about a 3 in walk away at a cost of $30 p.n. As for the room it was sparse. It lacks enough power plugs, particularly at each side of the bed when you have to charge devices. Nice king bed but with only one shelf on one side and one bedside light. No comfortable armchairs or a sofa in what is supposed to be an upgraded room. Just a wooden bench under the TV.

Excellent location. Really a stone's throw away from so many cool places. The hotel itself is also really cool - it's a historic building with the only functioning manual elevator in Toronto. This is a double-edged sword though; this means that the elevator always needs an operator to be used, and they need to be called if they're not around. For facilities, it was pretty standard. The comforter was VERY warm, we actually had to lower the thermostat because we were too warm. The smart TV had an option for YouTube that didn't work, but Netflix seemed to work. Apparently this is common, and they offered to move us to another room, but that day they had to had a full house so they offered us a free late check-out instead. A very nice gesture from caring staff. The restaurant on the ground floor is also quite good.

Great design with a wonderful artistic taste, and a beautiful duality of modern and victorian! Comfy bed and linens. Nice dimable mood lighting in the room. Different activies in common rooms on each floor (2nd - spot to eat with balcony, 3rd - pool table, 4rd - library, chess, and coffee). And good coffee too (although it is out in the common area, robe slippers are provided, so all good!). Would stay again!
Our only complaint is we wish there was a mini-fridge in the room. The staff was nice in saying would could use the common area mini-fridge, where the coffee cream is kept. It did the trick, but we felt a little uncomfortable to store it in a public place where someone may swipe it or cleaning staff may toss it unknowingly. Neither happened, and our food was fine, but it just caused us a bit of awkward worry. A microwave would also be great in the 2nd floor common room.

For me never having been to Toronto in fact in Canada in general and not really knowing where to stay, the Gladstone House was THE perfect place to experience the city for the first time. When I say the interior is absolutely GORGEOUS. So good for any picture moment and being surrounded by a beautiful and vibrant atmosphere. From the curated artwork that gets changed every few months to the steampunk style century old elevator — all the way to the rooms and accommodations with the gold features and pops of color it’s absolutely breathtaking! It’s literally in walking vicinity or even a five to 10 minute drive to any popular spot ranging from restaurants, music videos, jazz bars, shops, and more. Literally the perfect place to stay. It was my first solo trip internationally as well as my birthday and the staff made sure I had such a special time during my stay. They gifted me a handwritten note and a bottle of wine. They also checked in on me daily, providing recommendations for places to go. Overall they were so friendly! I’ve never experienced such amazing service like this before. I do plan to come back to Toronto again and I do plan staying at the Gladstone House. I couldn’t picture saying anywhere else and I’ve already raved about this beautiful boutique hotel to all my friends.
The shower didn’t have a door. It was an open concept. I don’t know if it’s like that for all rooms. I stayed in a queen studio

The windows and window benches in the corner room. Lounge areas on each floor were nice, wish we would have been there long enough to enjoy them. Was worried about noise from street and trains, but wasn't a problem.
Blinds in the big windows were fun to play with, but didn't block the light very well. It's pretty far from downtown attractions, which might make us avoid it in the future. On this trip, it was close to an event we were attending, so it was perfect. Great street with restaurants and walkable to Dundas St W and Harbourfront.

I liked the artwork and the shared areas on each floor; the reading materials and the unique touches made my stay special. The restaurant was reasonably priced and quiet when I was there. The staff were exceptional.
I don't know why the shower drains the way it does, but the entire bathroom floor filled with water from my shower and the drain didn't collect the water well in the way it was set up. I had to use the bathmat to mop it up and it was wet for half the day. My room did not have a small desk (or place to sit with a laptop. I expect next time I will use the common areas more.

The staff was friendly and the building is awesome with some very cool features, including an old style elevator. The room was decorated very nicely and has underground secure parking a 3 minute walk across the street. There is a little grocery store around back and its within walking distance to many little bars and restaurants. There was a few vagrants walking around outside, but no one that was bothersome. The room was actually very quite at night for the area.
One thing I should note, when we went to check in, the room was not ready for 1.5 hours past the check in time. Reception offered to pay for 2 drinks at the bar while we waited, however they never followed through with the offer. Not a big deal, it just should be mentioned. Unloading your baggage is a little difficult and has to be done in the back alley because the hotel main entrance is on a busy street. It was only a minor inconvenience in which the actual coolness of the hotel makes up for it.
