Excellent location, walking distance to downtown and it is very near Chinatown. Good price, great value for money It is very clean. Reception is friendly. Met a super nice roommate.

The pillow is too hard to sleep. Not comfortable

Facilities were superb combined with cleanliness. Room and bed were comfortable and clean. Room for a single occupancy, kitchen and the shared areas are very well designed in terms of practicality and ambient. I was most impressed with the kitchen. The best kitchen I have ever seen in a hostel. High standard of equipment, always clean in the morning, despite guests could use it all day. Breakfast simply but delicious, everything what you need in the morning. The atmosphere and location were very good. Staff - very professional.

The breakfast was really good. It had good coffee, great bagels, fruits, cereals, and drinkable water. It also has a clean kitchen with complete stuffs. Great location. There is a luggage storage after check out. Staff was friendly. 24 hrs reception.

There was no designated bed number. When I came back to the hostel in the evening, I was surprised that someone was already occupying my bed. I also think they need to increase the number of shower rooms, and toilet per floor.

Facilities, as toilets and shower rooms are very limited compared to the number of persons staying, one toilet at one floor doesn’t really make any sense in a public hostel

Our private room was really clean and modern, and the bathrooms were well-kept. The aircon was really great and breakfast was awesome in the morning, although a little busy. Great friendly staff, and the location was amazing.

The terrace/porch advertised was a bit dirty with pigeon nests and waste, so was not usable to sit out on it.

The breakfast was nice; fruits (banana or orange), bagels (with a choice of spreads), and cereals. Tea and/or coffee. For the cereals, it’s really the basic kind, which is neutre sweet not salty; due to that I never took it. The living room is a bit messy after so many eating in the same space. Maybe a multi surface cleaner spray with some paper towels should be made available.

The showers. They are clean, but they are very small, and awkward when it come to undress. The shower heads are not really qualitatives. They added plastic pads in front of the shower to put your feet on, but I strongly advise coming with shower slippers

The hostel is very well located, the breakfast is amazing and very filling, the rooms are also quite nice ! It's one of the best hostel I had, and everyone was very friendly and helpful ! I would definitely go back there! The shower and toilets were not often used, I think I went in a low season tho

I liked everything, I think it depends on the person you share a room with, mine were very respectful and nice. Maybe a bigger room to eat breakfast would be nice but you can easily find a spot!

Front of house Staff were helpful and accommodating A/C was needed so that was a plus! Breakfast while quite basic was just what was needed to set up for the day. They offer activities if you're a solo traveller looking to socilise. My room was at back of building and was quiet! Right beside frequent Tram stop into city centre. Won't be stuck for food options in area.

Bed wasn't great but for one or two nights it's fine. Pillow was pretty good. It's in Kensington so to be expected that it has a "mix of people" and two doors up from a drug rehab place and opposite a hangout or similar people. But it's also beside nice restaurants so you have to take good with bad.

I’ve stayed at Samesun Kelowna a couple of times before and this was my first time at the Toronto location — and it didn’t disappoint! Just like in Kelowna, the Toronto hostel is super well-located, has 24-hour reception, and feels really safe with its key card system. The kitchen is a highlight: clean, well-organized, and fully equipped. I also love the colorful and cool design — it makes the space feel warm and welcoming. Another big plus is the free breakfast (coffee, tea, bagels, fruit, cereal…), which is super convenient for travelers. My only suggestion would be to consider offering more animal cruelty-free options. It’s 2025, and so many travelers are mindful of sustainability and compassion — it would be awesome to reflect that in the breakfast too! 💚🌱✨
