Excellent location, walking distance to downtown and it is very near Chinatown. Good price, great value for money It is very clean. Reception is friendly. Met a super nice roommate.

Facilities were superb combined with cleanliness. Room and bed were comfortable and clean. Room for a single occupancy, kitchen and the shared areas are very well designed in terms of practicality and ambient. I was most impressed with the kitchen. The best kitchen I have ever seen in a hostel. High standard of equipment, always clean in the morning, despite guests could use it all day. Breakfast simply but delicious, everything what you need in the morning. The atmosphere and location were very good. Staff - very professional.

The breakfast was really good. It had good coffee, great bagels, fruits, cereals, and drinkable water. It also has a clean kitchen with complete stuffs. Great location. There is a luggage storage after check out. Staff was friendly. 24 hrs reception.

There was no designated bed number. When I came back to the hostel in the evening, I was surprised that someone was already occupying my bed. I also think they need to increase the number of shower rooms, and toilet per floor.

Our private room was really clean and modern, and the bathrooms were well-kept. The aircon was really great and breakfast was awesome in the morning, although a little busy. Great friendly staff, and the location was amazing.

The terrace/porch advertised was a bit dirty with pigeon nests and waste, so was not usable to sit out on it.

The hostel is very well located, the breakfast is amazing and very filling, the rooms are also quite nice ! It's one of the best hostel I had, and everyone was very friendly and helpful ! I would definitely go back there! The shower and toilets were not often used, I think I went in a low season tho

I liked everything, I think it depends on the person you share a room with, mine were very respectful and nice. Maybe a bigger room to eat breakfast would be nice but you can easily find a spot!

The staff and the roommates are really friendly! I like how everyone get to eat together in the morning, it felt great to be surrounded by different people. The room and bed are clean clean. Washroom is clean too, but the hot water from the faucet in the bathroom gets too hot even when you turn a little bit.

The location is quite nice actually, there are plenty of food nearby and you can take public transit easily from there. Something scaring me was the outside of the hostel actually has some homeless and I even got racist speech from those people when I just came out of the hostel. And I saw a girl got harassed when she just sitting at the table outside the houstel. Female solo traveler should be very careful on this!

The hostel is close to public transport (trams) and is easy accessible. There are plenty of different bars/restaurants/delis with different cuisine nearby to meet every kind of taste. Also very practical is a self-service laundry just across the street. Staff is friendly and it is no problem to leave the luggage at the hostel after check-out if you still have a whole day to explore the city

The surrounding area is a bit less clean and friendly, but not dangerous (at least not during daytime).

Friendly reception staff, I wasn't able to join any of the events but it looked like they offer great options. Great location in the Kensington Market area.

Housekeeping staff were so unfriendly, the female seemed as though she hated when guests were around. The male used a strong chemical on the floor one morning and then shut the balcony door, it was so suffocating I had to leave the room! As others have mentioned, there are lots of unhoused people directly outside the hostel at all hours of the day, as a solo female traveller this did make me quite nervous to walk home at night.

**Rating for Samesun Toronto:** I enjoyed my stay at Samesun Toronto primarily because of its excellent location right in downtown Toronto's Kensington Market. The room was adequate, and shared washrooms are available on each floor. The breakfast and dining area had a lively atmosphere with a diverse group of guests.

I would suggest adding some protein options, such as eggs, to the breakfast menu, as the only protein source was milk. At check-in, there was an issue with my name matching my business card because I have three first names, which led to some confusion. Unfortunately, this resulted in our original booking being canceled, and we had to rebook at a $200+ higher price. Despite this, everything else was satisfactory. The neighborhood reflects the vibrant, typical downtown market street vibe.

My stay in the Private Queen room at Samesun Hostel was absolutely incredible! Nestled right near the bustling city center, I had quick access to fantastic restaurants and seamless transportation. I made some amazing connections with fellow guests, and every morning, I looked forward to a delightful self-service breakfast that kickstarted my day. The staff at reception were so friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall fantastic vibe of the place. It was an experience I’ll never forget!

It was unfortunate that my room was near the women’s washroom, which caused some disturbance. I wasn’t able to enjoy my nap or quiet time fully. Additionally, my room was also a bit far from the men’s washroom.
