Union Hotel Toronto Rooms are very small. Bathrooms are exceptionally tiny. The sink was so shallow (20 cm deep) that I couldn’t even fit my hands properly. Photo attached. After the first night, we asked to change rooms as it was impossible to even unpack. The room was noisy, facing an alley with cooling machinery. They were kind enough to move us quickly after the first night. The new room was still small, but the bathroom was acceptable, and there was less noise from outside. The staff are extraordinarily friendly, warm, and efficient. The lobby is large, modern, youthful, and interactive. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from Union Station and the city center. The best part of the hotel is its excellent café/bar and the staff working there. It’s a hotel for the “under forty” crowd :)

Nice place in the center, close to near the CN Tower and central train station. It was quite a comfy room with everything needed (even steamer - special thanks for that!)
There were 2 things I didn't like: 1. The AC system was incredibly loud (I'm not exaggerating) and it was just near the bed, so it was impossible to sleep with it on, but when it's off - it was too hot. 2. The cafe on the 1st floor, (the hotel propose to have a breakfast there), didn't have any special offers for those who stay at the hotel. It'd be nice to have some menu offers like main dish+beverage for special price, or coffee for free etc. Instead you just get the basic menu like anyone who could come there. The place was almost empty, because I guess if you don't get special treatment - what's the point to even eat there? I think it's a zone for approvement to think about special offers.

I liked that the hotel was centrally located near all the attractions and things to do, with no complaints there. There are restaurants around, so it was easy to go after a long day of adventuring. The room was small, but it was gorgeous in decor and cozy, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom shower was amazing.
A couple of things I did not like about the hotel: there is no air vent/fan in the bathroom. The lights in the room, and there was no way to properly turn them on and off; it seemed confusing to work. Lastly, the room was very small, but we made it work. These are all minor things, nothing major.

The hotel is very centrally located in downtown Toronto. We were able to easily walk to most of the things we wanted to do: CN Tower, the aquarium, St. Lawrence Market, the Distillery District, etc. When we did take any ride-share service, the cost was generally under $10 USD.
To be critical, the room has 2 very small garbage cans that didn’t accommodate larger items that you accumulate over a several day stay (takeout containers, larger shopping bags). The housekeeping crew was lovely, but I felt bad leaving trash outside of the designated cans in bags that we provided.

Very stylish hotel in a great location, a couple of minutes from the Union Train Station which is why I chose it. The lounge area in the reception was very nicely laid out and artistic. My room was very nice and the design kept in line with the rest of the hotel. The shower was excellent, a more modern unit compared to other hotels I've stayed in Toronto.
I think I overlooked this when booking but there was no security safe in my room which I always want to have for obvious reasons. Also my room didn't have any view, it just looked onto an other hotel room but didn't really matter as only had a quick stay.

Rooms are newly renovated but very small with very little space to store clothes. Bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The wall mounted TV could be pulled forwards and angled to give the best viewing. The shower is spacious but, as we found out on our previous visit, the flap on the vertical edge of the sliding door does not make any contact with the fixed glass section so it is easy for water to get out and pool on the floor outside.
There is a spacious lobby area with nice decor and comfortable seating. Unfortunately, there is loud music playing all the time with an incessant beat which makes conversation difficult and focusing on reading impossible. Since there is no space in the rooms to sit comfortably and quietly the lobby should be the place where one can do that. There is a “café” in lieu of a restaurant. The coffee is excellent but they shut the espresso machine down in the evening for some reason, even though other bar drinks are available. The food offerings are limited and relatively expensive. If I were running the hotel I’d be embarrassed by the constant stream of guests going over to Tim Horton’s across the road to bring back their breakfast rather than using the in-hotel cafe.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and patient, gym was great, ground floor lounge was snug and comfortable, the room had an industrial and cosy feel to it, there was a TV, kettle and tea in the room, and the location was very convenient to get to Union Station and other places.
Rooms were much smaller than the pictures, bathroom was very cramped, bathroom had a few stains and needed further cleaning when we checked in, room was incredibly hot due to the aircon being on the floor of one corner of the bedroom and poor air circulation from the aircon, and our room was facing York Street which was very noisy even at night.

The hotel is in a great location—very close to Union Station and major attractions in downtown Toronto. It’s well-equipped, and the bedding is really comfortable too.
1. Cash isn’t accepted, so need to make sure bring a credit card. 2. It might be because the hotel is in the city center, it was noisy at night with traffic sounds from the street. For light sleepers or those sensitive to noise, this might not be ideal. But it seems to be a common issue with downtown Toronto hotels—I stayed at another one and experienced the same. There were frequent loud engine noises at night, like people speeding or revving their cars.

Excellent location near Union Station, although it can be a bit tricky to find. The rooms are nicely designed, though small, with limited storage and surface space. However, they make smart and efficient use of the space available. The fold-down desk is a lovely and functional addition. The library downstairs and the thoughtfully chosen book in each room, highlighting Canadian authors, add a charming and personal touch. The liquid coffee packets in the room are an interesting bonus. Each room also includes a steamer, which is essential for business travel, and blackout blinds for sleep. Sustainability is a strong focus here with no single-use toiletries.
The air conditioning and heating unit is quite noisy and cycles frequently, making it sometimes difficult to maintain a comfortable room temperature.

Wonderful hotel - the design is just beautiful, everything is super clean, amenities in the room are various and wide, the staff is very helpful as well as kind. WiFi works without any problems. The location is perfect - so close to Union Station and in the heart of Toronto downtown (Financial District). The cosmetics for use in rooms are so pleasant, and everything is just so!
IF I have to think of anything on the downsides then I would say - too small a sink - which perhaps is a bit uncomfortable while using, but this is not a real problem really.
