ROOM 224 There were 2 large brown stains on the wall near the flat screen TV which you would think should have been seen by the cleaning staff

The room was wonderful, very spacious with a comfortable bed, firm but not too firm, great pillows, and a nice clean bathroom. Overall it was a really good value as well, especially if you are coming from the US with the USD to CAD exchange rate.

The location of the hotel is not that great. It is near a subway station, otherwise you need to drive to get to other parts of the city where things are actually happening. Other than the iconic Orange Julep, there really is nothing going on in the neighborhood around the hotel. It is basically an industrial park with cheap restaurants and commercialized sports bars, big box stores and car dealerships. Access to the highway is good but the highways in Montreal are a NIGHTMARE to navigate. Stick to surface roads.

Great check-in, cold water in the lobby, comfy beds, spacious rooms, good location, able to store luggage after check-out, nearby restaurants and Metro. Asked about the rink in summer - yes, it's real (a kind of plastic to imitate ice). Pool looked nice, in a sheltered garden area. Sorry there was no breakfast July '25, as restaurant is under renovation. Generally, the whole place seems to have been recently updated. Love the Asian art/decor touches! Saved some money for one night not in old Montreal, and closer to Mont Royal and the Oratory.

I was hoping for that breakfast with some Chinese dim sum, but restaurant wasn't in service when we visited.

The location is great - it's near some of our favorite restaurants, and easy to hop on to the Jean Talon and metro. It's not too noisy despite being that close to a major highway on the island, and the rooms are very spacious. We went in winter, and they had an ice skating rink! The pool looks very nice, and my partner and I joked (but maybe seriuosly) about hosting our wedding there. It's a very, very great hotel.

It's currently being updated, and the restaurants there no longer exist. I'm hard pressed to find anything I didn't like, but I'd have to say the coffee machines were awkward and didn't fit the cup, but that's my only complaint!

I love the location. Close to restaurants, grocery and convenience stores. Metro just a 5 minute walk, if that. Staff is professional, polite and efficient.

I was going to be in a room at the far side of the hotel. I've been there before and found it inconvenient, so asked if there was anything closer. To the credit of the desk clerk, he found me a room close to the elevator on the second floor. The last time, I found it really inconvenient that I could exit by a nearby door, but to enter I had to enter through the main lobby and do the long walk every time.

Room was very clean, comfortable and good size. Hotel was very clean, free parking which is a perk. Bed was a "10" Not a fancy hotel but I rate excellent. Pool was out of order No food available in hotel but step outside and everything walking distance though very trafficy. Location very central and freeway right there , close to airport, about 30 min. No cash at fron desk, ATM in lobby.. Very reasonably priced, I would go back. Lots of other hotels adjacent but value here is very good and don't forget, FREE PARKING.

A restaurant would have been nice, but really everything close by. I didn't need the pool, if you do, check that it is open and whether there will be food available at pool.

Hotel location is good. It is not far away from subway, fast food restaurants, food store and 20 min from downtown by subway. The beds are very comfortable for sleep. Stuff are excellent and very friendly!!! Swimming pools is good bonus. Also in the morning you can buy delicious croissants in hall.

Room looks old with some problems related to it,no sleepers which could be great options, sugar and coffee in room refilled just once.You should wake up early to get croissants as they available only from 7-8 am.

I stayed for two nights in January. The room was clean and mostly renovated. A hairdryer and iron were provided, but small details like slippers and a shoehorn were missing. When I asked the staff, they didn’t have any available. The staff were friendly and did their best to assist within their limits. Unfortunately, the restaurants were closed due to renovations, which was disappointing. Overall, for the price I paid (~$100 per night before additional taxes), I’m satisfied. However, there were hidden fees, such as taxes, that were added at checkout. I would have preferred knowing the full cost upfront when booking. Also, don’t forget to bring a plug adapter if you’re visiting from Europe, as the hotel doesn’t provide them at all. I had to shop around to find one during my stay.

Spacious room, quiet environment (good for work and relaxation), and very good location.

No functional kitchen at the time of visit. Fridge in our room was not working. The gym opens at 9am, while the swimming pool opens at 10am, and they both close at around 8pm. It was summer, I don't see why they can't open both facilities at 5:30am or even open 24 hours.

Quite a good combination of location and value. Near the freeway AND less than a 5 minute walk from the orange-line subway. Getting to Le Jardin Botanique and centre-ville was pretty stress-free. Also the Gibeau Orange Julep is on the other side of the 15!! Yes you have to try it. Yes it's yummy. Just don't feed the seagulls cuz damn they will mob you already as it is.

The steakhouse nearby is just okay. Lots of rich people going there to do rich people things I guess. Yes it's very *very* bling. But at least the restaurant staff were nice. They were like extra-Canadian. All the same, the croissants in the Hotel Ruby Foo lobby have a better yumminess-to-price ratio. If only I knew about that giant orange ball on the other side of the freeway before I came.
