We missed the vegetables and egg from the breakfast but aside from this it was perfect.

If you’re vacationing without a car, the location is perfect — 10/10. It’s just a 10-minute walk to the train station and 5–7 minutes to the pier, where boats depart in all directions along the Ligurian coast. The reception staff will gladly provide you with all the information about trains, boats, buses, and funiculars. We were lucky to be assisted by Angela, who explained everything in great detail. You can leave your baggage at the reception, and they allow you to change clothes there. But we were lucky — they checked us in early, so we were able to change in the room. The rooms are quiet, always clean, and air-conditioned. The breakfast terrace with a view of the city lets you briefly soak in the morning hustle of Rapallo. For breakfast you need to add something fried or boiled (there were a lot of baked goods, there were no eggs). Overall, this hotel is a great choice for relaxing after an active day.

Our stay at Hotel Portofino was comfortable and generally met our expectations. Rapallo locates itself in a region that has limited hotel options due to its geography and high tourist volume, which often drives up prices for modest accommodations. In that context, this hotel felt reasonably priced compared to nearby areas like Portofino or Santa Margherita Ligure. The staff were warm and welcoming, and breakfast included good coffee—plus the location is hard to beat, just a short walk from both the train station and the city center.

That said, the building is quite old, and noise travels easily—we could hear most things happening outside our room. The toilet seemed like a later addition and made a very loud flushing sound. Breakfast leaned heavily toward sweet items, which wasn’t quite to our taste. Overall, the stay was fine given the area’s limitations. We appreciated the hospitality and central location.

Staff were very friendly! Very good price/value ratio (as it is definitely difficult to find a place close to everything for such price + with breakfast). Breakfast - simple but good (some bread, meat, cheese for sandwiches; variety of sweet pastries; cornflakes with yoghurt or milk; fruits and juices) - so you can easily start your day and go exploring.

1. Currently there is construction work nearby- so during the day its a bit noisy (if you are away for the whole day from your hotel - it wont bother you) 2. Hotel is a bit oldschoolish - i understand that if you want smth better you need to pay, but hotel can slowly start some renovation of the rooms which wont cost a lot (starting with bedframes/mattrasses, or just adding some plinths on the floor - would visibly add some neatness). If not the very friendly staff and location of hotel - i would have given 5/10.

It feels luxurious. The receptionist was very friendly and kind. The breakfast were nice on a beautiful indoor/outdoor patio. The room was spacious and nice.

The barking toilet! It was the loudest thing we had ever heard coming from a toilet for minutes after every flush. It was comical but also annoying. Like I say about every place in Italy, there are not enough spaces to put things in the shower. The location was fine, but somewhat of a walk to everything.

The location is less than 10 mins from Rapallo train station, 5 mins from the beach, bus to the beach is right in front of the hotel and easy access to Portofino buses and ferries. The staffs were a dream! They helped us navigating the places we wanted to visit and always has a smile on their faces. Very accomodating and the breakfast buffet were so good! We will definitely book here again.

Room is basic and also needed some renovation but didn't affect our stay still very comfortable. The door of the bathroom was hard to open and close. The wardrobe lock was also broken (we didn't mind cause we only stayed for 1 night).

Breakfast was a very nice spread and offered different items. The location was great, just around the corner from the beach. The room is a bit on the older side and could use some work. Overall, the staff was fantastic and quite pleasant.

The room did need some minor work, walls were beat up pretty good. Just needs some attention, but it didn't make that much of a difference, just aesthetically unpleasing.

Super central location in Rapallo with easy access by train to the surrounding area. Angela and all of the staff were so welcoming and friendly. They could not do enough for us. Easy check in . Super value for a no frills stay.

Basic but great value. We would have loved to have access to the terrace but this could not be accessed during the evening and did not appear to be used. It would be a lovely spot to sit out in the evening.

Large room and good size bathroom. Breakfast was typical continental and more than adequate. The coffee machine made the best cappuccino I’ve had since arriving in Italy two weeks ago. Staff were super friendly and very helpful with things to do in and around Rapallo. Great location and an easy walk from the train.

Staff were very attentive and polite, breakfast was a nice plus and pretty good. Location is fantastic at walking distance from everything. Baggage storage was very helpful. Thank you.

Construction in the building was loud since very early in the morning and ruined the charm of the building. Rooms could use some update. Parking in the area is challenging.
