What is not to like?! The property is one of 5 beautiful similar buildings on a wonderful street and location in Rapallo. Excellent base to explore local gems like Santa Margherita Ligure, Recco, and Camogli. Perfect location for everything, including the ferry and the local market along the street on certain days. We got lucky to experience the chocolate festival as well! The room was spacious with a great bathroom and the room had a perfect view right out to the water/beach/sunset. The breakfast is by far the best breakfast we have had at a non-brand name hotel in Europe! And as if it couldn't be any better, then there's the STAFF! Sara started us off on such a positive note with her very helpful and friendly emails prior to arrival, then to meet her in person was the icing on the cake. She is such a lovely caring person and she made us feel like family. She gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations. Elina greeted us also on arrival and when she found out we needed to check in quickly to make the ferry to Portofino (last one of the season), she immediately got us checked in quickly and then went out the door with us to show us exactly where to meet the ferry! And Greta. She is amazing and so friendly and incredibly helpful! We saw her often because she was working a lot, and she always greeted us like we were her brothers and with a big smile on her face. She helped with our requests and even created a small box to help us mail a package while there. All 3 of them helped us greatly while retrieving one of our pieces of luggage that was delayed and then had it placed in the room once it arrived. Needless to say, we loved our 6 days at this property and would come back in a heartbeat! Congrats on a winning place in every aspect and your staff are the best assets of all!

Me and my three adult daughters stayed there during Christmas holiday. We visisted Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure and Rapallo during our 2-night stay. It is a small and classy hotel right in Rapallo's city center and close to the beach. Old time elegance is so charming but of course then the drawback is that walls and doors are not that thick to avoid some noise coming from the other rooms and corridor. The reception stuff was extraordnialy nice. We were mainly served by two ladies (the other one was Elena) and they were always so nice and accomodating. There was no space for parking in front of the hotel, but it was never an issue. We left our luggage on the front door and when we wanted to leave, our car was always waiting in the same place, so kind of a valet parking, which worked so well! Of course, the place itself, Rapallo sure is definitely worth to stay for 1-2 days!

This is one of those hidden gems that you unexpectedly come across during the travel. The hotel is reasonably priced for its 4-star rating. The location cannot be better, right at the main waterfront promenade, around the corner from Rapallo's historic center and train station, easy to reach by the car. The hotel has a private parking that can be reserved ahead of your arrival. Rooms are large and well appointed. We had access to the private terrace and excellent seaside view. Special thank you to the staff. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating, including unexpected convenience of valet parking, where you can just drive your car to the entrance, and someone will help you and move your car into a European-small dedicated parking spot. Ought to mention explicitly one of the hostess - Elina. She really made our stay in Astoria super-special with her sincere - "I am your friendly hostess" attitude, more of a good friend than just a welcoming hotel employee. Welcome aperitif served at the private terrace, help with navigating Rapallo and surrounding area, great advises about our side-trips to Portofino and Cinque Terra - just to name a few... Highly recommend Astoria as your future hub while exploring Liguria, and will definitely stay there on all of our trips there.

Wonderful location in front of the beach , and on Thursday in front of the Market. The views on the beach are great. Very nice building from early 20th century. Large comfortable rooms. The parking is tiny, but the staff takes the car when we arrive and gives it back when needed. Great breakfast. Large rooms.

One surprising mistake : We stayed for 2 nights, but between the two nights, we left the room between 10:00AM and 2:50PM. When we were back, the room was not ready, and the cleaning lady was not easy to find. I had to go down to the reception to get clean towels. Very surprising for a hotel of this level. (On the opposite : the day we arrived, we had a nap during the afternoon, and they made the room for the second time at the end of the afternoon when we went for dinner)

An absolute gem on the water! Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of spectacular. The location is breathtaking, with stunning views of the Rapallo Italian Riviera from the third floor. The breakfast spread was delicious and varied, catering to all tastes. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff - warm, welcoming, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable experience. From check-in to check-out, every moment was filled with hospitality and charm. Highly recommend for a perfect coastal getaway!

Great hotel! The location is excellent, 10 minutes walk to the train to Cinque Terre and the ferry to Santa Margherita and Portofino right next to the hotel. The hotel has a paid parking lot. The room is comfortable and clean. The staff were very kind and helped with everything and every question we had they happily explained everything to us. Good breakfast! There are good restaurants near the hotel in Santa Margarita. I highly recommend this hotel!

The lady on reception was extremely helpful and welcoming and spoke good English, she parked our car on arrival, gave recommendations and directions to the things we wanted to visit. The room was well equipped, not luxurious but had a good quiet sleep, no traffic noise. Breakfast was a very good buffet of pastries, cheese and meats, cooked items and fruit. The restaurant next door was very good food too.

Quite a small lift for anyone with large suitcases.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The location was wonderful, close to the boardwalk, the ferry dock, shops, restaurants, and pedestrian streets. For an additional 20 euros per day, you can park by the hotel entrance. Breakfast buffet was varied and fresh.

The room was very small for the price. But there was a nice sun patio which was private. We could hear footsteps above us, and voices, and showers coming from the surrounding rooms.

Everything. Been in the same family for over 100 years. The gardens. The huge variety of foods for breakfast with scrambled eggs. The complimentary bike to go on the magical bike/walking/running (old railroad) path along the sea that starts near the hotel and goes to two other villages. The short walk to the beach and to the train. The complimentary beach chairs and umbrella to borrow. The warm, welcoming and informative checkin. The linens which I saw being sun dried. I also saw a lot of older Italians staying there. They probably know the best places. It is a gem and I have already booked a trip to return in October with my boyfriend. That hotel and Levanto are the perfect base to explore the Cinque Terre. I hiked from Levanto to Monterossa but you can take a five minute train for €5.
