I have loved my stay here. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable, quiet, and immaculately clean. The WiFi works perfectly. Breakfast is excellent: wide-range of choices, perfectly prepared with daily menu changes for the cooked option. The hotel quickly becomes a home because of the truly outstanding (very hard working) staff. Christian and his reception team (Geoffrey - excellent!), Carlos and his housekeeping colleagues, and the brilliant breakfast room team (chef and waiting staff). They all exceeded expectations and represented Colombia exquisitely. This frequent global traveller extended his stay, will return in January and will not tire of recommending this hotel.

This is an outstanding hotel. I stayed for 2 weeks in Dec 24 and a further week in Jan 25. The facilities in the quiet, comfortable, well provisioned rooms are outstanding, the wifi is reliable and supports streaming, and the breakfast is constantly excellent. For those so inclined, there is a really good gym a minute’s walk away that’s easy to join for short periods. The hotel is also well situated for restaurants, bars and nightlife, and taxis to Candelaria and other tourist destinations are plentiful and really cheap. Above all, the staff at this hotel are truly wonderful - all of them - but Christian’s high standards, professionalism, and leadership is in evidence in every aspect of service delivery. This is a brilliant hotel that exudes Colombia’s reputation for friendliness and hospitality. This very seasoned global traveler couldn’t recommend it more highly.

The staff and owner were wonderful and made my stay an enjoyable one. The food was outstanding. My suite was roomy and well apportioned. The facilities were very clean and safe. The owner and hotel staff went above and beyond expectations and I highly recommend them. Thank you for making my stay great!

There is nothing at the hotel that needed improvement. I would have liked more to do in the neighborhood and for the neighborhood to be safer at night. However, that had nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel was outstanding in both amenities, value and especially the owner, staff and food. They made me feel very welcome and at home. Thank you!

The hotel was very good, chick design and decoration. Front desk were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable, exactly what we needed for a family travel.

When I asked for late check out they had said yes the first day, and when I went to confirm later, they didn't have records of it. Then charged me a lot for it, and even though I booked one apartment with two rooms, they were charging me per each room. I just needed to get things resolved and didn't argue, but that wasn't right.

Breakfast was very good with attentive staff! We will measure future hotel stays that offer breakfast against this high standard. Keeping the food hot does seem to be a challenge though. The large apartment was nice!

We didn’t really need that much space in the apartment, especially since it effectively didn’t have a living room, just a large dining table and we didn’t prepare meals there.

I have been to plenty of hotels in Bogota before, mostly 5 star properties, but the vilar america beats them all. Employees are super friendly and accommodating. Location right in the middle of Chapinero is excellent, in a quiet side street, yet many shops and restaurants, ATM machines and other services in the direct vicinity. My apartment was huge and offered a big terrace to sit outside. It was equipped with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, yet at a 4 star price. The 4 star suites by vilar america is managed excellent and they spend a lot of attention to details from a variety of pillows to choose from to bedside lights, to anti-slippery rubbers in the (rain Forrest) shower. Fully stocked minibar and lots of snacks at decent prices. You can buy and activate a Colombian SIM card for your mobile right at the front desk. I travel a lot, but this was the most impressive 4-star experience in a decade...

Location was great. The 2 bedroom/2 bath suite was perfect for our family (Parents, 2 boys) - the second room had 2 single beds which was great for the boys. Full kitchenette including fridge/freezer with ice maker. Clean and spacious living space.

Beds were short - anyone over 6 feet it may be a problem. Hot showers, but the water pressure was poor.

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and with superb stuff! The room was old, but very well maintained. Internet was decent. Nice breakfast. The area is full of restaurants and bars.

Some difficulty to communicate with the staff, but their politeness and service made up for any discomfort. No parking.

Located on a quiet street a couple short blocks away from congested area. Ideal place to stay. Hotel was as expected. My suite was very large. Bed was comfortable with higher quality linens which was a pleasant change from what I'm used to in Bogota. Lots of restaurants, shops and nightlife a short walk away. Decent breakfast featuring omelettes cooked to order.

Shower head was unusually low. I am 5'10" and I barely fit under it. Water never got hot, just really warm, it was acceptable but barely. Photos of breakfast are greatly exaggerated. Those giant Costco-sized croissants they feature in their photos are actually tiny baby croissants the size of your finger. And the fruits are much less appealing in person than the photos.

The location is good. Staff is kind.

The shower, sink etc. are built for kids. For example the shower head in my room was so low you couldn't get under it while standing straight. Also just washing hands was a task.
