It has beautiful modern design. We stayed in a room with two beds and a balcony. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and came with beautiful embroidered linens. They provided bath robes, and fresh towels and cleaned our room every day. The room had a small safe to store your valuables and a big screen tv. The property is located inside the walled city of Cartagena which was ideal for us. It is within walking distance to all the shops, parks and activities inside Cartagena and an easy walk to Getsemani as well.

While we made it work, the room is very small and only came with a small hanging closet and shelves to store our clothes. It could have used a few well placed hooks to hang bath robes and backpacks for example.

Everything about Sol de Alba is absolutely perfect! Very well decorated with every little detail carefully planned. Room was cozy, clean and very comfortable. Location is superb! Inside the Walled City (Ciudad Amurallada), right by the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj), a few steps from Getsemani neighborhood. Staff was incredibly helpful, kind and polite! I’d like to point out Mr. Alejandro, who went way and beyond to make us feel at home. Also, Alejandro took care of our check out process and personally made us capuccinos at 5 AM, so we could leave to catch our early flight. Simply perfect! Sol de Alba, pay attention to Alejandro, he would make a superb manager!

I have to say that the only negative point is the price charged for the M&M’s. I know hotel candies are always expensive, but I think that it went a little too far. And there’s no price table available to check before consuming.

Perfect location, great little balcony. Incredible service by everyone, especially Rodolfo at the front desk, Jhon at the bar, and Ivan - who literally walked us to our pier door to catch our boat to the islands. Beautiful property, breakfast was fast and very good. We were treated incredibly well by everyone during our two night stay, right from the start of the welcome tour. Room well appointed. Rodolfo went out of his way to help us with tours and managing our next hotel booking. Great people work here!

Not a thing - it was perfect, we would love to return

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful boutique hotel. The service was impeccable and personal. Rodolfo, Jhon, Milton and the team were very helpful, whether we needed to get around the city, fix our laundry or serve us great drinks and tasty breakfast. The hotel is centrally located in the Old City so there is a bit of street noise like music, but it is just part of the Cartagena experience and fun. The rooms are very clean, have enough storage space, a large TV and we even got a beautiful balcony facing the street. The cleaning staff tidied our room every day thoroughly. We had some late nights, but the front desk was always awake to greet us. The rooftop has a bar, a large sitting area and a pool with a bit of shade and sunbeds.

It’s a beautiful new hotel, what made it even more special are the people who work there, Carlos ( both of them ) Edwin and Jose took really care of us. Breakfast is included and is delicious !! We had an amazing time. SOL de Alba is Very close to everything , is walking distance to amazing restaurants and monuments in Cartagena.

Be aware that’s is in the middle of the wall city that means bars are open until very late at night and you can hear the noise of the other rooftops around it.

Ivan, Edwin, and both Carloses took great care to make our 2-night stay at Sol de Alba a memorable one. Amazing central location inside the walls with nice views of the city from the roof. Very clean. Nice little rooftop pool.

When we first arrived, it was hard to find the entry door at first, but it's exactly in the location provided by google maps. Just have to knock on the door with the sol (sun), and someone's there to let you in.

We love the outstanding service from all the personnel of the hotel! Chef was great, waiters, security and the concierge! They were helpful and lovely with me and my kids! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and at home! Maria-Isolina, Luca & Logan

As it is an old colonial building l, obviously there is a natural corrosion and maintenance to be done mainly on the walls and roof!

This hotel is beautiful and is in the perfect location! You are walking steps from all the sites, restaurants and rooftop bars in Cartegena. The staff - Edwin, Carlos, Juan are all fantastic and so helpful!

Some of the rooms do not have windows. Most do not have balconies so choose your room wisely. The noise from the street and other rooftops can be heard so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!

Nice decorated room, friendly host!

The room was too small for the price in my opinion. The pool was fully in the sun 🌞, I was burned immediately. No parasol available. Breakfast options poor and as a vegetarian I received the egg baked in the same frying pan as where the ham was baked in, so I didn’t eat it because I tasted the ham. It was impossible to explain this to the person responsible for breakfast since he couldn’t speak English.

This boutique hotel was in a great location, close to the harbor and within a 15 minute walk of anything in the walled city. The room was beautiful and well cleaned daily. The highlight was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and never hesitated to help us or offer suggestions for our stay.

It can be noisy at night, but this is unavoidable as it is near a lot of bars/nightclubs (just around the corner from Alchemico!)
