Beautiful colonial style hotel, lots of nice details. Few rooms and a beautiful spacious breakfast area as well as living room! Breakfast was good! Loved the quiet pool area on roof top to refresh after long walks. Very nice and confortable rooms, beds and bathroom. Very nice and helpful staff.

Location is very centric with lots of restaurants around, near guided tours. However it can get very noisy at night on the street! So is almost every where in Cartagena! Ear plugs helped a lot! A little incident happened when the cleaning lady broke our celular charger by pulling it hard. Good response from the hotel by replacing it on the same day.

Hotel Boutique Casa del Coliseo is a lovely property with chic decor and organic touches. The staff is friendly and helpful. A lovely breakfast is provided each morning with coffee, fresh juices, fruit, bread, and choices ranging from scrambled eggs to empanadas to pancakes. The hotel is in an incredible location, easily walkable to anything in the Centro Historico and Getsemani. There is also a small but very nice pool on the rooftop to relax and refresh.

We arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel through the hotel, not knowing to expect an incredibly long customs line (3+hours). As a result the driver wanted to drastically overcharge us for the extended wait time, but the hotel did not communicate this at the time we arranged it or clearly during the wait. At checkout we learned that one of the managers did arrange a "discount" for the excessive charges, which I greatly appreciate. But having now seen how easy it is to get a taxi at the airport, I would not arrange a ride through the hotel next time.

The hotel is intimate and charming,especially the living room and dining room. The staff is wonderful going out of their way to help us, doing everything from providing us fruit and sandwiches in the middle of the night after my wife injured her leg in a fall while out walking, bringing in a contracted physician to check out my wife’s injured leg, buying me a new phone charger after I left mine in a hotel in another city, bringing in a lunch from a nearby restaurant, surprising us with ice cream and through it all treating us with warmth, generosity and genuine concern. Wonderful wonderful wonderful. The hotel saved what could have been a failed vacation after my wife’s fall. Plus the location allowed us to take in the spirit of Cartagena through our second floor window and the hotel is so well located that I could reach most of Cartagena’s attraction within easy walking distance.

We liked everything about it except the stairs to get up to the swimming pool

Beautiful charming hotel in the heart of the walled city. The hotel's Spanish/Colombian architecture and decor - inside and out - is stunning! With beautiful common rooms to relax in. So close to everything you would want to visit in the walled city and a very short walk to Getsemani. Martin was exceptionally helpful w/restaurant and cafe recommendations and providing me with a late checkout and keeping my bag after I checked out. He even chatted w/me on What's App to make sure things were going well. My room was on the 3rd floor and he carried the bag up and down for me. My room was so comfortable and the air conditioning was excellent. Breakfast was delicious as well.

I have no problem with stairs, but someone who cannot climb stairs might have an issue. And many beautiful Colombian hotels do not have elevators. Just something to consider.

My stay at Casa Del Coliseo was incredible! Jhonata and the entire team were magnificent, always attentive and friendly. The place is impeccable, cozy and its architecture has a unique character. I definitely recommend staying here. Its location close to multiple places of interest is perfect. Jhonatan was attentive during our stay helping us with tours and our experience in Cartagena and Christian perfectly coordinated transportation to the airport. Also, the included breakfast was delicious and the touch of the bar with water, coffee and fruit available 24 hours a day was fantastic. An attention to detail that made my stay at Casa Del Coliseo even more pleasant.

We had a balcony and you could definitely hear the noise coming from the outside; however, this was a minor detail and the hotel provided ear plugs. I would not let this deter you, as I would still 100% stay here next time.

I had a wonderful 5 days at Hotel Boutique Casa del Coliseo. The location was perfect, in the center of all of the action and easy to walk to everything. The design and decor were beautiful. The breakfasts were wonderful - delicious fresh fruits and juices and local delicacies, as well as incredible service. The room was large and quiet. The staff and service were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was a bonus as well! Whether traveling alone, on a romantic trip or with family or friends, this is a wonderful place to stay.

The larger room off the street was a bit outdated and the beds could have been more comfortable, but that was a minor thing and the other rooms are updated.

The location was phenomenal! The staff was incredibly nice & helpful. The breakfast was excellent. There was always fresh water, tea & coffee available. We enjoyed the pool & loved the beautiful living room area & balcony where we could watch all the action.

We would have liked a room with a balcony, the safe did not work despite their attempts to fix it. Housekeeping could have done a better job with cleaning the shower & keeping proper track of the mini bar & items in the room. The empty wine bottle & dirty glasses sat there the entire time.

The staff was excellent, each and everyone of them. Any request we had was answered immediately and with a great attitude. Our room was cleaned several times during the day while out exploring this beautiful city. We found a great restaurant literally steps away, it was so good and convenient we had lunch and also dinner there our final day. We really felt safe and loved our stay here.

The only fault I found with the property was lack of space in our specific room, If I return I will definitely upgrade to a larger space.

Very beautiful building with special architectural features, excellent concierge service (especially by Carlos), delicious breakfast and very cute pool on the top floor. They helped to arrange a due day tour for us and reservations for restaurants. We wish we had more time in Cartagena so that we could have lounged in the beautiful reading room at the hotel.

There are many stairs, which might not be for everyone.

Casa del Coliseo is a quiet calming retreat from the bustle of old town Cartagena. The colonial Spanish architecture makes it feel like you’re inside someones luxurious villa and not a hotel. The staff was absolutely phenomenal! I got very sick upon arriving to Cartagena and they constantly checked on me and offered to call a doctor multiple times and seemed genuinely worried about my well-being. I also have severe dietary restrictions (celiac) (gluten free) and they were able to make my breakfast entirely gluten free and safe for me to eat. The roof top pool is a quiet retreat from the excitement down on the streets. The rooms are sound proof and it’s necessary on the weekends as the city is lively and out in full swing. I look forward to staying here again in the future.
