The hotel has some of the standards you would expect from a hotel of this category: nice staff, good restaurant, beach towels, good housekeeping. The bed was very good and the room was clean. It is nice to relax by their swimming pool, specially after a hot day in Manuel Antonio park.

It is very overpriced. The room does have “US motel style” and is definitely not what I expected for the price. It is also very small and didn’t have any nice touches (they didn’t even provide mineral water in the fridge, which is provided even in small and cheap hotels in Costa Rica). Bathroom is small and dated; the shower leaks a lot of water through the door, and water pressure is low. The hotel is due for renovation. Breakfast is mediocre for the price.

The location is perfect! Easy access to the beach and walking distance to the park. The restaurant of the hotel is great and the staff is super nice! Gardens and amenities are lovely!

The hotel is divided in 2 different buildings divided by a street. It was not clear at all when I did the reservation. I had a room in one building and my kids were staying on the other. It was super unconfortable because even though it's a walking distance it's quite dangerous for small kids to walk by themselves. So if you are travelling with kids make sure to stay on the same building!

The location of the hotel is perfect. You don't have to deal with the hassle of parking to visit Manuel Antonio Park as the hotel has lots of included parking. It's only about 5 minutes to the park which is great after a long hot day exploring it. It's also a flat walk to the beach in about 2 minutes. The room has a really nice shower and comfortable beds in a good sized space. There is lots of outdoor seating including right outside the room as well as covered lounging beds. I didn't use the pool but it's in a nice space and you can also use the pool at the sister hotel across the street. You do have to go across the street for the included breakfast but I didn't find this to be a problem. Breakfast was excellent as there was a variety of buffet items and you could also order eggs or pancakes freshly made. One perk I didn't know about was that there is a free trail close to the hotel that you can use and spot wildlife including sloths. The hotel also offers night tours as they are right next to a river and pond so you have the opportunity to spot lots of frogs, sloths, and even a croc! I was also able to see howler and capuchin monkeys in the mornings as they crossed the canopy. The staff here are wonderful and they did an excellent job of cleaning the room every day and replacing the coffee if we used up the pods. The coffee was excellent and was Britt Coffee which is a Costa Rican company.

It's a bit stressful to drive to the hotel as the unofficial parking attendants will try to get you to stop your car to park for visiting Manuel Antonio Park. You need to ignore them or tell them you're going to the hotel. It really made me appreciate that the hotel had parking included.

It’s a beautiful property conveniently located very close to Manuel Antonio park and the beach. The food was good, the pool was enjoyable, and the rooms were nice.

I did not like the door lock system. There is no way to lock/unlock the door without a key and the door wasn’t easy to lock. A few times we left the room having believed we locked the door only to discover that the lock didn’t engage as we had thought. Also, I felt uncomfortable not being able to unlock the door from the inside without a key. Having only one key was challenging. Suppose we needed to leave the room in a hurry, or I wanted to leave my kids in the room while I ran to the car- if I took the key they would be locked in, if I left the key, I would be locked out. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel has two locations and we lucked out with the one right by the beach (the other is not far at all). There was a short cut that allowed for quick access to the warm and wonderful water. The staff was welcoming and helped us with an unusual check out time for a really early flight back from sjo. The property was beautiful with a (warm) pool, outdoor showers, hammocks, lounge areas and beautiful jungle sounds. The breakfast was a nice buffet at the other location and we even took advantage of the pool bar at that one. Overall a lovely stay close to the beach with a beautiful jungle feel and very helpful staff!

Food and drinks were a little pricey.

We stayed at both the Playa Espadilla hotel and the Gardens hotel for a few night each and it was our favourite place we stayed. The beds were so so soft and comfy, the breakfast was delicious, we really enjoyed the fresh fruit and banana pancakes. The staff were super kind and helpful and easily contactable on WhatsApp. They arranged a breakfast takeaway box the night before we were due to go on a tour too early the best day to make the breakfast slot at the restaurant. Beautiful grounds, saw capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, big iguana lizards, tiny little geckos, cool bugs and butterflies. So cool to be so close to the MA park, it's really convinient fot visiting it, as well as getting to see the same wildlife out of the park!

Did spot a few cockroaches but you're in the jungle so you can't really avoid bugs!

The location is superb, right next to the entrance to MANP and a short walk from the beach. Check-in was straight forward and our room was large and very clean. AC was very effective and free parking was much appreciated. The pool was lovely too.

It would have been helpful to have a laundry line in the bathroom (like one often finds in hotels) and breakfast was a little underwhelming with only dark roast filter coffee available. Given Costa Rica is home to some fabulous coffee it would have been nice to have the option of a French press or even americano.

Excellent location very close to Espadilla Beach and Manuel Antonio National Park. I enjoyed everything about it: bed super comfortable, quality rooms, nice pool area, loved the buffet style breakfast, etc but the building looks kinda old/vintage from the outside. Our first impression was like oh, it looks like an old timey hotel but we didn’t care after. Also, since it’s very close to the park you might see a lot of wildlife like monkeys, macaws, crocodiles. The check-in receptionist was extremely friendly but the check-out one had a strange energy. Maybe I wasn’t used to returning the beach towels at the check out. Overall, I recommend this hotel. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but the area can be super busy so expect being harassed by guachimen when driving through (people that helps you parking/watching your car)

Absolutely beautiful surroundings, the restaurant is amazing, served us up one of the best dinners we've had on our whole holiday. Staff are warm and friendly, very helpful. It's literally a few steps away from the entrance to Manuel Antonio park and the beach at the town, so you'll not have far to go for anything. Great pool with covered loungers so even if it rains you can enjoy being outside and chilling.

The bed was a little uncomfortable and on the small side but that's being very pedantic!

Perfect location! Close to the beach and the national forest. The room and the grounds were immaculate. The daily free breakfast is excellent! We also enjoyed several other meals in the restaurant and they were the best food in town! Ronald, the bartender at the pool bar, went out of hood way to make us happy with his suggestions and mixology. All of the employees were friendly and so helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
