It's always an incredible pleasure to stay at Manglar and Cantarana (the sister hotel). My husband surfs, and the beach is literally steps away. Also, the hotels are walking distance to two great eateries, one at Cantarrana and also Cafe Mar Azul.There are yoga classes, surfboards and boogie boards, and even surf lessons (for a fee). Finally, the staff is incredibly sweet, and they remember your name and greet you as friends. Manglar can be a bit busier, as there are more rooms/people. Cantarrana is less busy. We love and have stayed at both place, @ 6 or 7 times in the last few years. I highly recommend!

The beach is less than a 3 min walk! You can’t beat that!! The beach is amazing, lots of waves, also calm during low tide. The hotel has relaxing environment, clean and excellent service by the staff. The 5 person Villa was perfect, lots of space, equipped kitchen, AC, big bathroom, comfy beds. All in all, the Villa was exquisite. Would definitively return and stay at a villa.

It could seem a bit crowded if all the whole of the hotel were booked. Even though there lots of vegetation in between to compensate.

Lovely property in a quiet community, there are 4 really good restaurants in the village, a small shop which sells the essentials and it’s about 20 min walk to the water taxi to Tamarindo. We really loved staying here. The rooms were a decent size, the pool area was lovely and never crowded. The front desk girls were so friendly and helpful, and it was steps from the beach! Just fantastic

We enjoyed having the shared kitchen because we like to eat breakfast and lunch by the pool without having to go to restaurants allll of the time. However it could really have used a couple of sharp knives and maybe a newer non-stick pan just to make our stay even better. They only had one knife which had a broken handle and could cut fruit or veggies with it but that was my only complaint, everything else was great

The property itself is beautiful! Amazing common spaces, with a fantastic shared kitchen and eating area. Tastefully landscaped and many different areas to sit. The beds are super comfortable and great pillows!!! The staff were so friendly and accommodating!

The standard rooms are very small . We are not picky, but for a family of four, we had nowhere to put our bags - we had to step over them while getting out of bed and going to the washroom.

We did not try the bkft. The room was clean, the bed was good, the linin on the beds was good, not fantastic but ok and air conditioner worked great. What we didn’t like was the coffee maker. We are coffee drinkers in the morning and the pots they have in the room are very small and they allow only two pods a day,after that you pay 2 dollars a pod. We were constantly looking for pods or trying to find good coffee which was hard to come bye. They pool is lovely, the grounds are well maintained and the short walk to the ocean is nice.

The coffee arrangement was not at all convenient.

Hotel Manglar is the best!! This was our fourth stay here, and it never disappoints. Its proximity to the beach is unbeatable, and so is its staff. The grounds of the hotel is a total paradise.... just lush beauty, even in the heat of summer. Can't wait for many more stays at Manglar!!

The only upgrades I wish they would make would be comfier beds and a comfier living room area / cushioned outdoor furniture. I was missing a couch after two weeks. ;) Also, guests should be prepared to not flush toilet paper, as their sewage system is not robust.

We were thrilled to return for a second consecutive year. We rented the two-story apartment, which is very spacious with a huge terrace... The kitchen is fully equipped, everything is thought out for cooking whatever you desire. The bedroom, the site, and the pool are spotlessly clean. The atmosphere on the site is relaxed and inviting, offering several shared spaces to enjoy. Located just steps from the beautiful and vast Playa Grande beach... where you can admire the most beautiful sunsets. We can't wait to go back! Thank you to the owner and the team for maintaining such a wonderful place.

The grounds were pretty and well-landscaped. The staff was incredibly hospitable and helpful. Close proximity to a quiet beach. A very comfortable, boutique stay and a great value for the money. The drive in was manageable but lots of pot holes to avoid!

The room we stayed in was a bit small. Wi-Fi was not great in the rooms so got in the way of streaming tv at night. The restaurants nearby are good, but there are limited options because the hotel is in a secluded national park.

The common area was ideal! Nice pool with a big lounge, resting area, common kitchen, everything you would need! Beach is right beside the corner, huuuge spacious and totally empty! There we were like 10 people on a huge beach during the whole day... We went to Tamarindo for one day and quickly rush back! The staff was extremely lovely and helpful to our every need, one can really feel like in a luxury hotel:) Even though some minor inconviniences in the room, would 100% go back and recommend ❤️

Rooms would be equipped better - Def lacking a closet, some cup for brushes etc. 4 pillows and a huge duvet is redudant when it's 35 C and you don't have anywhere to storage it. Some other minor details but the closet was the biggest isue. Still - didn't spoil the overall experience:)

Very nice complex with good facilities. Great location, separated from Tamarindo busyness and messiness. By an inlet. Thanks to that, the very long beach/bay is not busy at all, clean, very relaxing. Watching the pelicans fishing just a few meters from me swimming was very special. There were waves but not large enough for surfing in the morning so it was fine for swimming. Our room had a fridge and was clean and nice, bathroom as well.
