Standard has slipped slightly since my last visit in 2023 in terms of upkeep and maintenance. However, still a very good family friendly hotel with an exceptional location. Solid breakfast with all the essentials. Pool area is above satisfactory. Rooms are clean and tidy with the exception of faint lingering cigarette smell which is to be expected in europe. Would still recommend as a good option for a family with young children. A mature couple may want to seek alternative accomodation.

The hotel is really well located on a beautiful stretch of beach. The surrounding area has gorgeous scenery. Hotel has a very nice outdoor dining area. Nice modern seating around the pool area with lots of shade. Modern and bright interior. Rooms were clean with good size balcony. The buffet was kept well replenished and there was a good variety of dishes on offer. I feel the food did not stay hot enough under the heat lamps. The soup one lunchtime was luke warm.

Elevators are small and can’t accommodate more than three people with luggage. There should be a water dispenser in the lobby for guests to have a refreshing drink on arrival. No toilets near the pool, you have to walk through the hotel lobby from the pool to use the toilet. Tea and coffee were only available at breakfast. We were full board and would have liked a cup of tea after lunch. The coffee machine lines were always long and the machines kept breaking down. The hotel need to provide a separate hot water station next to the tea bags to save people from standing in line at the coffee machine just for hot water.

The hotel is excellent. The staff too. They are very accommodating and pleasant. The hotel has been beautifully renovated. Meals are plentiful and varied. They allowed us to spend the day at the pool after check-out and use it with the use of their changing room, towels, shower...

If you come with a private vehicle, parking is charged an additional 5 euros for each day of your stay, which was not the case before.

I stayed at the hotel for a week, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The location is truly excellent, right by the water, with easy access to Makarska and a beautiful promenade for walks. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout my stay. Parking was conveniently available right in front of the hotel without any issues. Food was okay, but it became quite repetitive over the course of the week.

The room I booked felt a bit cramped, with a small window placed at the far end, which resulted in a lack of natural light. For a 4-star hotel, I would have expected some additional amenities in the bathroom, like body milk, and a kettle with tea/coffee in the room. The indoor pool is quite small and can get crowded quickly. The fitness equipment is outdated, and some machines were not functioning, so it definitely needs an upgrade. Lastly, the outdoor pool is not heated, but luckily, the sea was warmer during my stay.

We stayed at Hotel Alga from August 18 to 28 and now, when the impressions have settled, we want to share our experience. From the moment of arrival, until the last day, we encountered extremely friendly staff whose positive energy and professionalism did not change during the entire stay. We try to be constructive critics to help improve service, but apart from noticing more crowds during evening meals, the food was outstanding - truly deserving of a 10 out of 10. Everything was perfectly balanced and well prepared. In terms of cleanliness, the hotel was very tidy, considering the large number of guests coming and going from the beach. All in all, we highly recommend Hotel Alga, especially for families, as the town of Tučepi is small, but charming and peaceful. Couples who don't mind a little noise will also enjoy their stay here. Finally, we would like to mention something unrelated to the hotel, but very important - the behavior of the gentleman who rents sunbeds on the beach was unacceptable, considering his very rude and loud vocabulary. Also, there were many rude people on the beach carelessly stepping over other people's belongings, throwing stones, moving things and throwing cigarettes. Once again, all praise for the Alga Hotel. Keep up the great work and small improvements in the future. Thank you for a pleasant vacation!

The only minor drawbacks were related to the parking lot and the beds in the room. Although parking is 8 euros per day, it can happen that you have to wait a long time for a free space.

1. The hotel location is amazing. During this trip, I realized that small towns and villages are much cozier for staying with family. 2. The beach is really clean, nice, and comfortable—likely one of the most convenient compared to the southern beaches of the country. 3. The staff is amazing. They helped us, guided us, and truly understood our needs and ideas. 4. The food is excellent. You’ll never go hungry. 5. The hotel is right on the promenade, which made it easy to take a walk after dinner. 6. The swimming pool is warm in any weather and very clean. The children’s pool is also excellent. 7. The coffee and drinks in the bars are tasty, and there are plenty of seats to relax with friends or family.

1. The air conditioning in the rooms works perfectly, as does the one in the lobby. However, it seems the entire hotel doesn’t have a central system, which you can notice when moving between different areas. 2. The food is awesome, but it would be great if regular water were included in the free menu. 3. Parking is available and appears to be secure or at least enclosed. However, the demand for spots is high, making it difficult to find a space on the first try until someone leaves.
