Beautiful hotel, room was fantastic. Location was perfect. A lovely walk along the Rhein into the city.

All was great except the cleanliness of the room was a bit off. A stain on the bed sheet like some drips of tea or coffee that suggests the sheets wasn't changed. We found an old pair of socks behind the sofa bed on the floor not particularly hidden. One of the coffee cups were dirty with coffee stains in. Glass in bathroom was dirty and the hand soap dispenser was entirely empty. Plus toilet rolls were very low and used. Almost like the room hadn't been cleaned at all. Pillows were poor as well.

Our's was family vacation to Köln and had requested a quiet, comfortable room with an extra bed for our 11-year-old daughter, and it was exactly what we got. The breakfast buffet was well-organized, catering to every taste and preference. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the city, being just two bus stops or a seven-minute ride from the city center. We were very happy and satisfied with the facilities. Our stay at Novotel Köln City was everything we hoped for — a highly recommended hotel for a perfect family getaway and the ideal base for exploring the best of Köln.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at a delightful hotel in the vibrant city of Cologne, and I couldn't have been more impressed. From its prime location to its impeccable service, every aspect of my experience was simply exceptional. First and foremost, the hotel's location was unparalleled. Situated just a stone's throw away from Cologne's cultural gems, including the renowned Dom and the charming Chocolate Museum, it offered the perfect base for exploring the city's rich heritage. Moreover, being within walking distance of both the Koln Messe/Deutz and Hbf train stations made transportation incredibly convenient. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the hotel staff, whose friendliness and professionalism immediately made me feel at home. Throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met, providing exemplary service. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the sumptuous breakfast served at the hotel. From freshly baked pastries to an array of delicious options, there was something to satisfy every palate. The quality and variety of the offerings were truly impressive.

However, there is one area where I believe there could be room for improvement: the frequency of changing the bed sheets. While my room was impeccably clean upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice that the bed sheets were not changed as frequently as I would have expected during my stay.

Nice breakfast, location about 1.5km away from the main attractions (Chocolate museum much closer), rooms clean and nicely decorated

1) Shower was trickling just very low pressure water. Rinsing soap off was a pain. The bathtub option was working very well (though not a fan of bathtubs) 2) The room tv was just annoying. Whatever setting they have on it should be removed. You cannot even watch a channel for 3 minutes before it switches the screen off and you are left just hearing audio.. which sometimes just turns off randomly. Very annoying

We enjoyed our stay at Novotel Köln City, especially the convenient location, which made exploring the city easy. The reception staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, enhancing our experience. The room was spacious and clean, offering plenty of comfort.

At the parking there were not enough spaces, and reservations were not possible (however we managed to park). Nevertheless, the hotel could arrange for alternative parking at a nearby facility for the same price, which was a thoughtful solution. In our triple room, the third bed was a convertible sofa, which wasn’t very comfortable for sleeping. One downside was the noise from the floor above us (5th floor) really early in the morning, which we believe was related to the sauna spa area. While the stay had its positives, we found it to be overpriced and not great value for money, most likely due to the Christmas season.

For our family trip to Cologne we have decided to stay at the Novotel near the river which was a great decision. Even though the location is not necessarily close to the Dome or the city center, it is close to other locations such as the southern old town with its countless restaurants and small shops. Also the walking path along the Rhein river is just opposite to the hotel. Our room was already prepared for 3 people hence we did not have to do anything else than just moving in and relaxing. The family room we had was just the right size. The amenities in the room were useful, but what we loved most were the USB plugs to charge electronic devices without having to carry electric plugs. So far this is the first hotel we have experienced this luxury, which to my opinion should be pointed out in the hotel specialities. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful at all times. Thank you for this service. The hotel entrance is accessibility friendly. There is a bar to grab some drinks with a separate area where people can sip their drinks on couches and there is a restaurant for guests who want to dine for lunch or dinner. For the breakfast the hotel has a separate restaurant. Due to our plans we were only able to have inhouse breakfast once. It was delicious and had lots of various items and for every taste. We loved staying at this place due to its quiet location, the friendly and professional staff and also because it's a clean and modern hotel. Would we stay again? Definitely yes.

Good location, comfortable bed, practical layout of the room, good variety and really tasty breakfast (plus free breakfast for kids), very convenient access to a reasonably priced car park, relatively small cost of a pet staying in the room. Generally, I would not object to stay there for longer and, if coming back to the city, definitely this hotel will be my first choice.

An extra teabag and portion of sugar would be nice however their lack does not create any major issue.

I had an incredible experience during my stay at Novotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The check-in process was seamless, and the team was warm and attentive throughout my stay. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The dining options were excellent! The cheese platter was delicious, and the service was impeccable. It’s clear that the team takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences. It is a standard and good hotel from well known brand. Room was clean and staff was also friendly. There are some nice restaurants in 10-15 min walking distance as well as nice river embankment.

Breakfast was ok but with too small amount of options. For instance, there was no porridge. Therefore if you stay there for several days then you will try almost everything. Also coffee from the machine was not so good. The hotel is located close to the multi line road. If you want to keep windows open to get fresh air then it might be too noisy and the air will be not so fresh because of cars.

Hotel's location quite okay with spacious basement parking. Very quiet eventhough it is situated closer to the road. Lots of food choices for breakfast buffet.

Everything is nice except for one thing. If u need water and u are thirsty, u have to fetch water from their water station on the ground floor. Disadvantage for disability people that they have to go down again just to fetch a bottled water. But, if u dont have an empty bottle then u have to buy one. Smart sale!
