The hotel is in a great location directIy opposite the main railway station and is very near to shops and transport connections of buses and taxis. I found the room that I was allocated was comfortable and spacious. The room had a fridge and TV. The TV has a good selection of channels and several are english news channels. The breakfast is of a buffet style and I found the selection was very good. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite. Check in was very easy. There is a lift to all floors.

The room had no facilities for tea or coffee making. There is no phone in the room to contact reception, only method really is to walk back to the desk

The hotel is clean and modern. It is centrally located, close to the central train station. It is easy to get to the hotel by public transport. The breakfast was excellent. We had a late arrival and departure flight, but there were no problems. The toilets available on the ground floor are clean and tidy. The city center is only a few minutes walk away.

As with any busy central train station, sometimes there are troublemakers near the station, including the hotel. Sometimes there was shouting from the street, and sometimes the police would intervene. But nothing serious, because such things happen everywhere.

The staff was incredibly helpful, including making change for us when the banks wouldn't due to a strike. They were very personable and even spoke English. The location is great, across the street from a train station and next to a courtyard with seasonal food vendors. We loved drinking the warm gluhwein and sitting outside with the festive lights.

It took a bit to understand that you have to insert your key card into a spot near the door to make sure your outlets and lights work. I forgot the first night that it controls the flow of current to the outlets as well and my battery was low in the morning. Also, we enjoyed the festivity of the light festival, but we could hear the music and a few loud folks well past the 10:00 curfew.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location for trains and trams if you want to travel around Germany. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Decor a little dated in the rooms but the shower was good and we always had plenty of hot water. The rooms were exceptionally clean which for me is the most important thing about a hotel. Breakfast was perfect and plentiful and had everything you could want for breakfast. Staff we always very friendly too. We will stay here again we had a lovely 3 night stay.

Was here for rammstein concert 31-1th. Clean room and bathroom. Probably the cleanest place I’ve been to this summer. Very helpful and service minded reception- SUPER THANKS for that because I’ve been asking them for help every day and they were super kind and offered me what I asked for and helped with my questions. Also fantastic location just in front of the train station which makes it so convenient. I stayed in 329 and was happy with that room. The pillows were so comfy. It’s located in kind of a labyrinth on 3th floor but everything felt safe and clean.

Genuinely unreal, I always read reviews and don't know how credible they are, often think that it's fake accounts promoting stuff when things have a great review but my stay here was great. Was here for 3 nights at an ultra cheap price, completely surpassed expectations. Lovely room, a comfortable stay and minutes away from the train station. If I'm ever back in Germany for work or leisure I'll stay in Essen again just for this hotel!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is perfect — right across from the train station, which was super convenient. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. My room was cozy, clean, and comfortable — exactly what I needed after a long day of travel. Would definitely stay here again!

The only thing I missed was having a kettle and some cups in the room — that would’ve made it perfect.

Good location, helpful staff. We had a problem with the air con & had to change rooms after one night, but helped by staff. Roadworks outside the hotel & around Essen made driving to the hotel & nearby car park difficult. Good sound insulation so room was very quiet despite the location. Did not have breakfast-v expensive. Shame no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Nice staff. Big clean room. Proper beds for 3 people in the same room, not extra folding or sofa breds.

Major construction in front of hotel summer 2025. Quite tricky to get to as you have to park way behind it and walk up, one wrong turn and you have to drive around for quite a bit due to construction. But once there there is a parking garage nearby for 10 EURO/night.

My second time in this hotel, which means it must be doing many things right. Location is excellent, right next to railway and U-station for easy access to Messe Essen. Easy to visit Christmas market in the evening. Rooms are good, breakfast has more options than what you sometimes see in central Europe. No outside noise, even though my room was in second floor.

Youngish lady in reception could smile a bit, she looked quite uninterested in her work. Chap on next counter was very professional, though. Lifts are very slow, but probably not possible to modernize since building is quite old.
