This charming hotel, converted from an old post office, offers a truly unique atmosphere. Our huge room with high ceilings and magnificent windows felt grand and full of character. The interior design was classy, and the large bathroom added to the comfort. The hotel is right in the center, making it easy to explore the area. While AC was not available, the reception kindly provided us with a ventilator, which was more than enough to keep us comfortable. The only downside was the placement of the sofa bed. When open, its legs partially blocked the passage, and we unfortunately bumped our feet and legs a few times. It’s a shame, as the room is so large — a better placement would easily solve this. Despite that, this was a memorable and comfortable stay, and we would definitely stay here again.

Stay: April 22 to 23 2024. Location, location, location!!! If you are driving into Trier, look no further. With a parking lot onsite and being steps from the heart of the city center, this Ibis is a no brainer (let them know you are coming by car). The hotel is modern, the rooms are very cool, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast variety is great and plentiful, allowing you to fill up for the day and carry on with your visit to this interesting city. Note: our rate considers a hotel that fits a on the go traveler's budget, with no indulgences like those offered by top notch and expensive full-service hotels.

Like in many hotels we visit, a night light in the bathroom was missing. Those are good to have in case the guests need for a bio-stop in the early hours of the morning when everything is still dark, and you wake up not really knowing where you are. Those lights would prevent the use of main lights throughout the night. The breakfast area was a bit busy with a few business travelers, but the staff handles things quite well.

This hotel provided modern amenities with a local feel in an excellent location. This is a fairly new facility and is located right in front of the Kornmarkt (which is a gorgeous plaza near the center of town). The rooms were spacious and everything you need is within a short walking distance. We didn't try the breakfast at the hotel (if they had one), but there were greeat restaurants and shops a plenty nearby. We visited 8 different countries and cities/towns during this trip and this area was one of the most pleasantly surprising.

Small lobby can get a little crowded when multiple people checking in/out. This is really not a big deal though.

Excellent and warm welcome at reception. The two gentlemen on duty were particularly helpful and friendly. Offered free drinks in lieu of daily room service - a nice touch. Hotel was immaculate, quiet, quite well sound proofed and in a great old building which had been sympathetically converted. Car park is not huge - perhaps 25 places - and although quite expensive it is better than having to walk to a city carpark especially in the rain. Some reviewers complain that the spaces are too small and cars can get scratched. We would totally disagree. The spaces are wider than the average supermarket and easy to access. The breakfast room is big and copes well with the demand. Not many hotels offer breakfast from 6.30am to 11.00am (12.00 noon at weekends). There is an excellent choice of hot and cold dishes. The breakfast staff are lovely people and all speak English - one guy even debated the decline in social standards and manners largely due to the pathetic people who spend the entire meal staring at their phones and the detrimental effects of social media in the raising if children. His views and our discussion were uplifting in this day and age. The food dishes were constantly being refreshed and the tables were cleared and cleaned very promptly. The rooms are large and comfortable with a huge shower. A lift to all floors is a bonus when arriving with luggage. Ibis Styles, Trier, is excellently located in the city pedestrian heart. Perfect place to stay for the Christmas Market.

Unfortunately the street to the hotel was closed due to building work which might confuse first time visitors to Trier. Luckily we know the town and were able to navigate the backstreets to approach from another direction.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel had a relaxed atmosphere, unlike most chain hotels. We were switched to a better room on arrival without asking. The breakfast was superb and, again, the staff were friendly and efficient.

The bathroom lacked certain things notably glasses for toothbrushes etc. That may have been due to the late switch of room. The pillows were not substantial enough. Otherwise, fine.

This hotel was perfect for what we needed. We booked a room for 3x people sharing. The space in the room was enough for us to not be on top of each other, however, we only stayed for 2 nights with very little luggage. it may be more tricky with more luggage for a weeks stay. The room was clean and there was plenty of space in the bathroom for all our products (we were 3x woman sharing). At check-in, we got the option to have 3x free drinks or have the room made in the morning. We chose the free drinks :) The beds were comfy and the room temperature was perfect. We were on the 1st floor and it was perfect for us. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because we preferred to go out and get a pastry and a coffee from a local bakery

That there was no options on the telly for English programs. We wanted to watch a bit of telly before bed, but everything was in German or French. It would be nice if there was a English channel available, besides news (which was available).

This is a basic hotel that gives great value for the cost as it has everything you need for a good stay: extremely clean, quiet, good bed, good shower, a very good breakfast, and helpful, nice front desk people. It is also in a great location for exploring Trier on foot; you are just a few away from the main square. I stayed one night and found parking in a nearby public garage which I think is cheaper than what is available at the hotel.

The pillow were a little cheap.

A very central location that was very handy for all the major tourist sites and restaurants. We popped back regularly and it was very good quality with real character too. It had been themed with Roman pictures and quotations and the building itself is converted from a former post office and has magnificent rooms with high ceilings. The breakfast was incredibly good, too.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and the bed was VERY comfortable, and the location was absolutely excellent. We live in Germany, and this was our first time to Trier. We will be staying at this hotel every time we return from here on out. We will also be bringing family members to this hotel when they come to visit. The free breakfast was also excellent- included with the cost of our particular room, and great quality food with large selection. Such a great experience overall!

Nothing. There was nothing that I would change about this hotel and nothing we didn't like!

Location was perfect. Staff was so nice. We loved getting free drinks for forgoing cleaning service. And the free breakfast was very impressive too! We are definitely planning to stay here again.

Only a couple minor things. The beds weren't extremely soft, and we wished we had more pillows. It would also have been great to have a mini fridge/hot water kettle in the room (but free coffee in the lobby made up for that!). We absolutely loved this hotel.
