This place is a gem!! Conveniently located at a walkable distance to public ferry (7 minutes away). While booking this hotel I was worried about going back and forth to the city. I couldn’t be more wrong! The ferry works 24/7 and provides a convenient service to go from one side of the Nile to another. Luxor is intolerably loud with all the traffic and honking and dogs barking, so, the west side is like an oasis where you can stay and enjoy peaceful, quiet nights. There are tens of buses taking tourists to hot air balloon rides every morning (at 4:00 AM) which makes all other hotels by the side of the Nile very noisy, therefore, being light sleepers, we were happy we stayed at this hotel. The staff are wonderful as well. Mahmoud was the most attentive host we’ve ever had! He is there to provide whatever you ask for. The beds are very comfortable and although I have a back problem, I slept at nights like a baby! Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Would recommend this hotel to everybody as it's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again Mahmoud for going that extra step for the guests!!

The accommodation is in a quiet location, far from the crowded tourist area, away from mosques (no muezzin waking you up early in the morning) and within walking distance of the public ferry. The bed is comfortable, the Egyptian breakfast is hearty and there is a small shop nearby. Mahmoud is a true host and speaks good English. If you ask, he will organise your programme at a reasonable price but he doesn't hassle you. It's worth accepting what he suggests. Thanks for the great conversations Mahmoud!
If you have the choice to choose a room, go for the 2nd or 3rd floor. Although there is no elevator and the stairs are steep, they are brighter and quieter. On the 1st floor you can hear everything from the reception on the ground floor which is sometimes quite loud at night/dawn. The streets in this area are not paved but dusty. This didn't bother us, but it's good to know that it's not ideal for wheeled suitcases.

Nice older hotel. Large room, with a desk and fridge. Cleaned upon request. The terrace is beautiful with direct view of the Valley of the Kings. Bike rental shop, ATM, fresh juices nearby. Cornich and public ferry is a 13- minute walk
They didn't consistently start breakfast at the same time daily, 7 am. This causes timing issues for guests daily plans. Breakfast could be 8:15-8:30. Ramadan played no role in the changing times. They often did not serve the local bread, instead serving this lifeless white bread roles. The breakfast, itself was fine.

Very quiet area overall, greeted with a warm welcome and fresh drink. Cold A/c, hot water, pretty clean environment. I didn't feel forced to buy tours or hounded by owner. I stayed to myself to get away from loud Cairo. Great seeing horse nearby
I didn't want to buy tours, I noticed change in owner demeanor then got ask (1 time) why I didn't want to do tour. Afterwards, words were to a minimum; I paid for 5 nights but needed to leave, the reservation was not cancelled or revised with correct date so I lost 50$ usd. He kept the reservation opened as if I was still there so booking.com wouldn't refund me. NO WIFI on iphone14pro!! No water provided after arrival All area is cash ONLY Locals are horrible. Things almost got physical due to not wanting to buy anything when I walked to see Nile River. The place itself was cool but my overall experience was terrible. Paid for "breakfast & dinner" included but only got breakfast.

The view on the roof is amazing. This morning i saw the sunrise at 06.25 hrs. Magic! Mahmud is an amazing cook and was putting me at ease. I had one hour delay and missed my Luxor flight. He made me tea and talked with me. I feel very welcome and at home at Cleopatra Hotel. Mahmud walked with me to show the environtment and showed me were i can by Egyptian SIM card and where to drink fresh orange juice. It is more relaxed at westbank than Eastbank. Mahmud, you are the best and made the uneasy start (missed plane, missed sleep) bearable. We keep in touch and kind regards to all of your staff. Shokran Miriam.
Nothing to declare 😉

We loved everything about Cleopatra Hotel! It was clean, cozy, and incredibly peaceful. The food was absolutely amazing, and the view was beyond stunning! You can watch the hot air balloons float up with the sunrise and from the rooftop, you get a clear view of the Valley of the Kings. But what really made our stay unforgettable was Mahmud. He was beyond incredible, always there for us, 24/7, making us feel completely at home. No matter what we needed, he was always happy to help, and he did it with the biggest smile. We honestly won’t forget our time here! I fully recommend Cleopatra Hotel, it is an absolute gem! If you have the chance, don’t miss out!
We loved everything

We really liked this hotel. Mahmoud took good care of us, preparing a delicious dinner and amazing breakfast, with view for the valley of the Queens. The falafel was delicious, the best one we’ve tried in Egypt by far. The local white cheese and fresh bread was very good also. The hotel is simple, but the staff do their best to welcome the guests. The west side of the river has a rough look, more of a village vibe. Which we saw as a positive, so you can have more contact with locals. Felt safe to walk at night, and was great to wake up with the birds singing, instead of car horns.

Loved my stay here, the balcony, rooftop terrace, great service, and delicious breakfast really topped it all off. Honestly, the location was perfect for me, just off the main road on the West Bank, much better than the east bank for me, less chaotic, and way more tranquil. Great wifi and working conditions for people who want to work in this hotel. Highly recommend to solo travellers, families, and working professionals.
the balcony was a little dirty when I first arrived, but that was cleaned properly after the first room service, so not a big deal.

mahmoud is a great host. He treats his guests like his own. He has a lot of experience and personally caters to each guest's needs. We had flight at 5am and he was there to see us off. He has a vast knowledge of Luxor history and the views from the rooftop is just fabulous. He can keep you entertained for hours! There are a lot of places to eat outside within a few minutes of walking distance.
It would be better if there is a bathroom mat. otherwise the bathroom gets wet easily as well as the outside.

The staff, especially Mahmoud were very helpful and polite. Unlike some hotels in Egypt, that charge at the premises with a higher exchange rate, this hotel did according to the official rate - very transparent. The owner of the place also arranged a hot air balloon flight for me which was 10 USD cheaper than other providers (usually prices start from 60 USD). Breakfast is basic, but fulfilling. When I told Mahmoud I have allergies to beans, he gave me some jams and honey as substitute, which was great for breakfast. Mahmoud helped to arrange the ride back to the airport. The location is very convenient if you are going to discover things (which is a lot of touristic places) on the West side, including the hot air balloon flight. It is also walking distance to quite a few local chilled restaurants on the Nile (I liked Nile Rose Cafe and restaurant). In the morning, you might be able to see from rooftop, while having breakfast, horses playing or training at nearby stable. Overall, it was a good stay. In Luxor, you won't be spending much time in the hotel, so this hotel is perfect for a short full of activities stay.
The air conditioner might need some maintenance, it cools down the bed area, but not entire room. Considering I was in the room only to sleep, it wasn't a big issue.
