My only fault with breakfast is I wish it could start a little earlier. I’m touring on a motorcycle and an early start helps in hot climates. I wear armoured protective clothing which is tailored towards warm weather on these trips, but, by 1400 at this time of year driving a bike feels like being in a fan oven. Sadly, no facility to order a croissant and coffee as room service outside restaurant hours. I’m having to make frequent stops to avoid dehydration, but hey, first world problem. Overall these hotels offer very good value for money and have way more character than a Hilton or best western

One member of staff (and one only) basically refused to speak English despite demonstrating the ability with another client. I solved this by using google translate for my questions until her manager noticed and took over. Isolated incident, all other staff brilliant. Reception staff particularly helpful and polite.

On this visit I paid extra for breakfast and dinner, both were great. Parador hotels have really got their act together for motorcyclists. They realise that we’ll arrive dehydrated and encumbered with safety clothing and luggage. Every time I’ve stayed with them they given me a room very close to the main reception lift. The highest quality rooms, blasting cold air con and they give you 2 cards so you can leave that running while not in your room. Staff are excellent and really helpful. If you show the courtesy to start each conversation in Spanish, most will ask you which language you prefer and switch to it seamlessly. Their English is way better than my Spanish, for sure. I had one niggle with a junior member of staff on my outbound journey, but found her most pleasant on my return. She’d either had a bad day on our first encounter or management really do take feedback from reviews seriously. Can’t recommend another hotel chain in Spain higher than these. Great value

It was all great

What a fabulous hotel. We were travelling through Spain and extended our stay here twice. Great staff. Lovely comfortable bedrooms. Great shower. Food was excellent. We had lunch twice there - 5 star. Would highly recommend location brillant with a fabulous view of the cathedral. A lovely short walk to the town over the roman bridge. The pool was brilliant- l- circa 25m ovely and cool. Wifi was great. Staff were so helpful. Will definitely be back

Only issue was pool didn't open rill 1130 - which seems to be a thing in Spain. With such a great facility its surprising its not open from early till late

Our second stay in a Parador and we weren’t disappointed. We were delighted to be offered a room upgrade, so we had the most amazing view of Salamanca from our room. We loved the pool and gardens. Service was first class and we ate in the cafe bar in the evening. The waiter was extremely friendly and made fantastic gin & tonics!

The only minor criticism would be the breakfast. It felt a complicated experience. We ordered omelettes from the egg bar which were undercooked when they arrived. Whilst the menu said bacon and Spanish tortillas were on offer, none were available. At €19 per person we felt it wasn’t great value for money and fell short of expectations.

Excellent location with stunning views. I chose a Superior room, and it was worth it. We had a huge, well appointed room, with one of the best views I’ve ever seen; a panoramic view of Salamanca that is magical at night. Our bathroom was very big, and had everything you needed. Food was excellent, and staff friendly. The terrace was a lovely spot for cocktails before dinner. And the parking was free and plentiful. The hotel isn’t far from town, probably a 20 minute walk, but we got a cab, which reception called, to take us straight to the centre. Lovely compact city, with wonderful character.

The pool doesn’t open till mid June, which is a little late, given how hot it was when we visited early June. Not a major issue though

Excellent location with plenty of free parking. Ideal if you are travelling further afield. We were given a large, quiet room with a comfortable, large double bed. Staff were friendly and helpful as always. Breakfast food choices were excellent. We have stayed here several times now, and ate in the bar in the evening again which was really enjoyable, although there was a delay in getting our food

Food service in the bar doesn't start until 8.30pm which is very late if you have been driving all day and just want an early night. However, on this occasion we had to wait over an hour before our food was actually served. There was a problem with the order (although we weren't told what this was), but it was 45 minutes after we ordered that we were told this. We received our drinks - a small beer and a diet Coke free of charge in recompense.

The hotel is modern, light and spacious. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities you would want. Like all the paradors I have used, the breakfast is superb. Lots if choice with plenty of local specialties. It's location means you get a wonderful view of Salamanca from the bar and many of the bedrooms which is really magical at night. There is a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel to see all the sights which some people could find a challenge, but taxis can be booked by the hotel staff. There is a big on site carpark which is free of charge.

I can't think of anything!

We chose this property as we needed parking. The bonus was the view we had walking into town across the bridge and the lovely views from the bar. The walk into town really didn't take long and was very straightforward, even I couldn't get lost with my terrible sense of direction! The room and bathroom were huge, we had lots of space.

The gym had restricted opening times, due to it's proximity to the bedrooms. So you couldn't have a quick session before breakfast. There was no water in there and despite having incredible views across to the City, the running machine (which I'd guess would be the most used, was behind a wall. With a little tweaking, this could be improved to a more useful facility. The property itself was a little dated, but the views from the bar at night you would miss out on if staying in town.

Our view of the city was unbelievable. It was like a painting. Easily the highlight. The parking was very simple and free. Reception was quietly friendly. We asked for an iron and ironing board and it was delivered promptly. We liked being just far enough away from the noise and traffic of the city. It was a lovely 15 minute walk across the magnificent Roman Bridge to the city. Hotel was easy to find. We would have liked to have stayed a couple more nights as we didn't have enough time to enjoy more of the hotel facilities. We had moderate expectations and happily they were exceeded.

No coffee machine but we asked for a kettle to make our own tea and it was delivered within minutes.

The property is relatively new but the position is great with lovely views to the cathedral and only a short walk away from the city. Very clean and spacious. Didn’t use the restaurant but snacks in the bar were good.

Disappointed that as the pool was closed we weren’t allowed to sit in pool area to enjoy the late summer sun. We originally booked for 2nights with very good rate but needed to stay an extra night and the price rocketed which was a shame. The bar area was very chilly early evening, several people had to put coats and jackets on. The waiter suggested doing his job for a while would warm us up- fine but not especially professional.
