A charming small hotel with friendly attentive staff. A good variety of restaurants and shops. Close to the Plaza Mayor with its many restaurants. The Prado Art Museum is wonderful, both for the art-works, and also the building itself for its graceful architecture. The Botanical Gardens (across the road from the Prado was not at its best in August, but nonetheless worth a visit. The Queen Sofia Gallery of Modern art was nearby. Whilst I am not a great lover of modern art, the Museum gets full marks for its unflinching portrayal of Spain's turbulent history, and meaningful explanation of events. Another worthwhile activity is the "Free Tours", (though tips are welcome") which employ actors and students to lead "on foot tours" around the central part of the city, explaining the history of the city and its architecture and history. The Walk Leader on ours was a working actor, and led the tour at a speed appropriate for those of us "of riper years". Recommended.

I stayed in room 311 and the location of the hotel couldn’t have been better — just steps away from Puerta del Sol, the shopping streets, and Gran Vía. Being so close to all the main attractions made everything super convenient. The room was very clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job: they changed the towels daily, cleaned the room thoroughly, and made the beds every morning. The breakfast was satisfactory — not a huge variety, but enough to start your day with all the basics.

On the downside, the staff felt rather formal and a bit distant — polite but not particularly warm. Also, the view from the room was quite disappointing, facing an inner courtyard with some metal stairs, which didn’t add much to the experience. I paid €505 for five nights with breakfast included, which I found to be a fair price considering the central location and overall cleanliness. Overall, a great option for its location and cleanliness, with a few areas that could be improved.

Excellent location, walking distance to all main landmarks. Hotel staff is nice and accommodating. Our room was clean, decent size for Europe with two beds, which I requested during booking, mini bar, a desk and a chair. The bed was comfortable, but pillows were not. No lotion in the bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash come as one. So, bring your own! Central Air worked, but it's not powerful. In the middle of summer heat it wouldn't be sufficient. Our room faced courtyard, no street noise. Breakfast was a feast with plenty of everything! Overall, good experience.

Pillows!

The room was beautiful, the beds were comfortable, and bathroom was roomy (with two sinks!). Also, at that point in our stay (we had spent several days walking the Camino), we really needed AC, so that part was also great! The check-in folks were very friendly and helpful, including when we left. They hired a taxi for us, and it was right on time. The hotel was in a great location, and we were able to walk to several major sites. The restaurant/bar in the hotel was great too. We ate there twice.

I would love to have gotten coffee in the room or available early in the hotel, but there were a couple of cafes near us.

Lovely staff, great, spacious room, comfortable bed (we loved the long pillows :D), great breakfast, clean and functional bathroom (two sinks, it is luxurious!) and the location is unbeatable, you are in the heart of Madrid. We loved the hotel and will definitely recommend it! I also loved that we could leave our luggage there on our last day as our flight was in the late evening hours (but the check-out time is also very generous) and then we could wait there, comfortably, in peace for ~30 minutes until it was time to go to the airport. It was also nice that we got two room keys - these little gestures go a long way. Thank you for everything! :)

We were missing vegetables from breakfast but overall the breakfast was lovely. The elevator could play tricks on us especially in the busiest hours, and the shower gel was a bit hard to get out and the hairdryer would stop after a few minutes then we had to wait then it could be used again for a few minutes; but these are just tiny things to mention :) We loved the place.

Excellent value for such a good hotel in a great location in the city centre. Close to Gran Via, so easy to navigate to all the sights and points of interest. Also close to Sol Metro and suburban rail stations, so handy for travelling by public transport and to the airport. Our room was very generous with everything we needed. Everything was spotless and the decor, towels and bed linen were of good quality. A very good breakfast with plenty of options was provided each day until 10.30 in the morning. Nice to have fresh fruit and the orange juice was very good. The staff we engaged with were all helpful, friendly and smiling. A really good budget hotel if visiting Madrid, which had a much more upmarket feel.

Amazing hotel in a superb location. Within minutes your in the centre of everything. Shops, bars and restaurants all very close. Room we had was huge with a massive bed and lovely bathroom. From the moment we arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was to much for them. Would I be back, most definitely just getting ready to book for next year.

Air-con in the room was a little bit weak and struggled to cool the room but it was 40 degrees outside. other than that nothing wrong

The location is excellent in terms of being very central and convenient - this was the reason we chose it. The room is a standard European hotel room, recently renovated and everything functioned perfectly. The bed was very comfortable. The desk staff is very friendly and always willing to answer questions. The housekeeping staff also kindly provided a softer pillow upon request.

As wonderful as the location is, it is also a major problem: the street is packed with eateries and people who make a lot of noise until the wee hours. The windows in the room are relatively new and cut down the noise significantly, but they can't keep out the sound of people screaming at 3:00 AM or a garbage truck dumping glass at 5:00 AM. Breakfast was abundant but did not offer a great variety.

This expensive, 3* hotel is located in a very-very good place, near to Sol metro/suburban train station (arrival from the airport) and close to the most famous sights of Madrid on foot, or using the public transport. The room is simple, but you find everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast is rich, quality of the foods and drinks is perfect. We had a balcoon in our room at the top level, I recommend to everyone to book this kind of room!

Madrid is very noisy, and it seems that the most preferred hours of "harvesting" the used glasses and the garbages are around 3 AM... The staff of reception was sullen anytime, certainly they had a lot of to do...

Perfect location, (walking) minutes away from the central area of Madrid (Gran Via, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Palacio Real, etc.). Very kind and helpful staff (special mention for the gentleman at the Reception and for the Romanian lady at the breakfast hall). Very clean. Good services. Quiet, despite the central position.

In the first morning there run no (really) warm water, but the stuff promptly managed the issue. Our room (511) was quite small and especially with no view (but well, I suppose that that was ... price conditioned:).
