The staff were super helpful and positive. It’s also amazing that hostel offers a whole bunch of activities, sometimes including dinner and always small complimentary breakfast. Everything also seemed to be very clean, which is great.

Well, given the place is very popular of course it was super busy and loud. They are trying to ask people keep quiet, but with room next to reception and windows outside the street I had very little sleep. The airco in the room also was either too strong blowing at you or if you lower it then becomes too hot in the room and lacking fresh air. The sheets need to be replaced as it feels like they haven’t been changed for a long time. But if I ever choose to stay in the hostel again I would certainly choose this one.

This hostel is amazing! Perfect location in the heart of Madrid, on a clean and beautiful street, close to everything. The staff are super kind, Augustin gave me a warm welcome and made me feel at home. I stayed in a room for four people with a beautiful view of the street from above. The room was clean, and the bathrooms and toilets were also very well maintained. There is also a kitchen for anyone who wants to cook their own meals, which is really convenient. I really enjoyed the activities they organized. The traditional Spanish dinner was a great experience, with a friendly and family-like vibe. Also, the trip to Toledo with Karen was unforgettable! The city is full of history, and the tour was fun and very interesting. If you love history and Spanish culture, you will love it! Highly recommended!!

A great social hostel with absolutely incredible staff! They hosted activities and day trips during the day, and had night outs planned for the night (free entry & good drink deals if you go with the hostel)! These activities were free to join, and the tapas/dinners made by the hostel were free as well! The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and down to earth, as were the other residents at the hostel. A special thanks to Carolina who provided us with so many recommendations & helped us out, and Karen who was very knowledgeable and took us to Toledo! This is a very social hostel so I would recommend this to any solo travellers/ small groups as you can meet loads of people here if you join in on the activities! We had an amazing time and hope to stay here again ☺️

Perfect for solo traveler or small group (1~3 people) It was my second stay here in 4 years(Nov 2019). It fulfilled all I've expected from my previous experience. - kind and welcoming staffs, amazing daily events, free dinner meal, excellent environment to make friends, single bed in dormitory room, location(Sol square 2min away), hot water, convenient shower and toilet, etc. I am 100% sure that I will stay here again when I visit Madrid next time.

The room was dark with weak light. Too soft bed. But it was totally fine to me during my three night stay.

Staying at Onefam Sungate Madrid was one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had! From the moment I walked in, I felt like part of a family rather than just another guest. The staff here truly go above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience in Madrid. A special shoutout to Natassha and Angel, who were absolutely fantastic! They not only shared the best local spots to visit but also genuinely took the time to ensure I had everything I needed. Whether it was giving personal recommendations, helping with directions, or just having a great chat, their kindness made my stay even more special. The hostel itself is super clean, comfortable, and well-located—right in the heart of Madrid, making it easy to explore everything on foot. But what really makes Onefam Sungate stand out is the sense of community. From group dinners to fun outings, it’s the perfect place for anyone looking to connect with amazing people. Amazing place, very good staff, they had fun activities planned. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go on any of them but they were super friendly. We're more than willing to change my bed to have a comfier mattress. Super helpful staff in the beginning, gave me some great tips on where to stay. On the whole super happy with my stay. Truly a great stay and one of the most social hostels I've ever stayed in. Very helpful even to suggest how to get to the airport. Would 100% stay here again. Room was nice, everyone had separate beds and no one was next to each other. We also had a cupboard to store our stuff.

Opening the door and ringing the bell was confusing. It's not straightforward and I wish they had sent me.a message on where to ring the bell as I could not figure it out for ages. At 10-11pm the staff plays music...not ideal for sleep but I managed. Bathrooms are shared genderwise. This was fine for me but it could be an issue for other people. No lift and only stairs but they helped me.lift my luggage both up and down.

Great facilities, comfortable beds and spacious area to keep and store your belongings (I stayed in a 4-female bedroom). Many toilets and showers, always clean. Quiet times seemed to be well respected. At least I didn’t have any issues with noise after 23:30h. Angel and his team were fantastic hosts, explaining all one should know about Madrid and about the hostel, and Angel even cooks for the guests some evenings (his pasta was delicious!). There are many events organized by them for free. The churros, croissants and madeleines with coffee for breakfast are definitely a plus. The coworking area is spacious and quiet enough to let you do focused work and have calls. Overall the hostel atmosphere was great and I would definitely stay there in my next visit.

This is not exclusive to this hostel but nevertheless worth stating, I consider it unfair that the female only rooms are slightly more expensive than mixed ones.

The location was great The hostel itself was clean and safe with great vibes all around The staff is the best part of my stay as they were super friendly and helpful, especially Natasha and Angel they always went the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and help you with the programs to explore the city. Nat even took the time to show Madrid at night and show me all the hidden gems and explain the stories behind the buildings. It was a wonderful, and authentic Madrid experience. The staff know their city and always have a plan for you that will meet your interests

Location: The hostel is situated in the heart of Madrid, just a two-minute walk from the city's zero-kilometer mark, located at a square with a metro station. Most attractions are within walking distance, and there's a Bicimad bike station nearby, which made getting around easier on hot days. Additionally, there are grocery stores and various shops just a minute away from the hostel entrance. Comfort: The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, and they offer free coffee, churros, and croissants for breakfast. There are plenty of showers and toilets on each floor (both separate and combined), so there was never a queue even during peak times. The hostel also offers free luggage storage, cheap towels, and laundry service. I stayed in a four-bed room with single-level beds and a well-functioning air conditioner. Service and Staff: What sets Onefam Sungate apart from most hostels is their daily events calendar, which helps solo travelers organize and diversify their leisure time and make new friends. Events range from walking tours, lunches, and dinners to sports activities and outings to bars and clubs. Special thanks to the staff, who were extremely friendly and made my stay wonderful (hello Carolina and Abdy <3)! They shared tips and recommendations about points of interest, restaurants, and local secrets, and quickly resolved any issues related to my stay (I decided to extend my stay almost at the last minute).

The previous guest left sticky jam stains on the nightstand that hadn't been cleaned.

Located in the heart of Sol, where everything was covenient your doorstep. Whether your from the airport or from the main Madrin train stations, it’ll be just a stone throw away. Breakfast and free flowing hot drinks, spared no expense to get your day started, also dinner to end the day. Famous landmarks are just within the radius. Staff in general was very accommodating and were very helpful. In addition, daily activities such as day trips out of Madrid or tapas night are offered to suit your wants. If ever to visit Madrid solo again, would definitely come back here.
