Honestly, there was nothing that created a problem for me during my stay. Just a small suggestion: the reception area could benefit from a renovation or refresh to match the comfortable style of the rooms.

Excellent location between Puerta del Sol and Gran Via (a short walk from public transport on arrival). In a shopping district near El Corte Ingles department store, no noisy bars, so very quiet at night. 20 minutes walk to the Royal Palace or Prado, we walked everywhere during our stay. Our double room was a good size (small doubles have the bed against the wall), spotlessly clean. Room had a kettle, but 2 mugs would have been useful. Excellent breakfast with wide choice of hot and cold, savoury and sweet items. Staff spoke English and were very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Having supplied a kettle, two mugs would be better than paper cups, we borrowed two from the breakfast area.

We've had a excellent 3 day stay in this hotel. It is very conveniently located near the Sol metro station and next to the El Corte Inglés Preciados department store. Checkin was fast, friendly staff. Room on the 3rd floor was on the smaller size but it was comfortable: good bed, good shower, clean, quiet and wifi was okay. Coffee and tea in the room and free bottles of water. Little balcony above the Calle de Preciados and view on the Sol square. Big tv and I could stream the Le Mans 24h from my tablet to the tv at night. Breakfast was also good: jus 'd orange, coffee and fruit and bacon and eggs. Beautiful old elevator is available. I would definitely choose this hotel if I ever visit Madrid again.

Excellent staff and location, only few steps away from the metro station and walking distance to many of the city attractions. Safe area, close to shops and supermarkets. Clean and cozy, retro vibe and very good breakfast with many options to take. They kept our luggage for free for a few hours. Definitely will stay again here when we'll come back to visit Madrid. The bed and the pillows could be more comfortable but that's not a deal breaker comparing to all the other facilities!

Our stay was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The hotel’s location is just a short walk from the city center, which made exploring so easy. The breakfast was outstanding — fresh, delicious, and with plenty of variety every morning. The entire property was spotless, and our room was cleaned to the highest standard every day. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. We truly felt welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. Highly recommended, and we would gladly return.

Have stayed in other Petit Palace Hotels in the Sol area, they are generally in good locations and well maintained, this was no exception. Desk staff really helpful. Easy to reach all the local transport hubs. Lift access to all floors. Tidy room. Excellent breakfast choice in a lovely open space area on the top floor. We were just here in transit but would make a great location for a short break. Sol is really central with access to lots of facilities.

Central location, well-connected to metro and train lines, clean room, good breakfast, friendly staff. In these senses, a good value for money.

The carpeting in the hallway/s should be replaced as the smell is quite unpleasant and the staining is not in keeping with the relatively up-to-date appearance of the room/s. As well, we requested a taxi at checkout and waiting three-quarters of an hour for a driver, who never appeared at the door to walk us out of the pedestrian zone to his stand. The receptionist, in the meantime, disappeared, leaving her desk unmanned. Alas, we made it to the airport using public transportation, but the experience would have been a more pleasant one had the receptionist followed through with the cab driver.

Laura, who checked us in, was exceptionally friendly, helpful (e.g. where to buy local sim card, directions, tourist attractions, etc) and made us felt welcomed right from the start. Glyza and Azral, the ladies at breakfast salon were awesome, efficient, attentive and always had a smile for the guests. Truly a five star service from both ladies. Breakfast spread exceeded our expectations and it was something we looked forward to each morning. We also couldn't have asked for a better location, right in the heart of Madrid's historical center (yet quiet and tranquil inside the hotel) and walking distance to almost all the tourist attractions as well as to Metro stations. If ever we return to Madrid, we would opt to stay in this hotel.

Room size and bathroom were really "petite"/small. We wanted two beds but got only a queen bed. Not much space to navigate for two occupants.

This hotel has one fantastic feature - and this is location. In the very centre, yet quiet (on the streets around there are shops, no bars or restaurants). Extremely comfortable, 200m from the metro / train. Breakfast was very good, as well.

Rooms are dated and overall the feeling of the design is kind of 90ties… and double room is small. So if you need nice and large room, find something else. But if you can accommodate, the location would overweight it all.

The staff was the best I ever encountered at any hotel throughout the world in the past 7 years. Anything we asked, the answer was yes. Their manners were astonishing and five star professionalism (without being stodgy or haughty). The friendliness and warmth was undeniable. After a long and arduous journey, we were exceptionally thankful for John!!! The other night person (female) was also excellent.

The AC wasn't working very well in the 100 degree heat so that was difficult.... but no fault of anyone's!
