Situated right in the town square, minutes walk from everything including the fantastic castle. Modern room and bathroom. Good breakfast.

Being in the town square there was some noise but the double glazing did a reasonable job at containing it. When we checked in we gave all our credit card details and were told that breakfast was included. At checkout next morning we were told that we hadn’t paid and breakfast was added to the bill as well. Put it down to poor communication but it doesn’t create a good impression. Lastly the restaurant didn’t open for dinner until 8 pm; this was the same all over so not unusual but for people doing the Camiño we were very hungry by the time that we eventually got to eat.

We appreciated the bedside tables, individual bedside lamps, and seating for two people, as well as adequate storage. The facilities were clean and modern in a well-maintained older building. The location on the main plaza was convenient and the hotel was easy to find. We were able to find free overnight parking nearby, and there is also nearby paid parking. Check-in was simple and our room could be accessed by elevator. This hotel is right on the main plaza, with many nearby restaurants. It is close to the river and crusader castle - a lovely walk. We only stayed one night after visiting Las Medullas, but Ponferrada might make a good base for exploring the region.

Our room overlooked the main plaza which seemed quiet when we arrived but became rather lively and noisy at night, when bars and restaurants come to life, and during the early morning when the plaza seemed to be the assembly point for tour groups. Not a big negative; just a caution for light sleepers.

The location is great, the staff was really nice and helpful. We liked the room and the view from the balcony, the bed was very comfy. The cot for our kid was there and ready! (it happens to us before, that it was not in the room yet when we arrived).

The breakfast could be a bit more various (i.e. more cooked egg options + vegetables). The view to the square is really nice, but the A/C boxes in front of the balcony ruin it a little bit.

The staff was FANTASTIC! Super helpful (and patient) The location was beyond excellent--right on the plaza where there was great people (and their dogs) watching. Very short walk to the awesome castle and other historic sights. The breakfasts (and breakfast staff) were excellent!! Don't miss "The Chinese Store" right down the street where you can find ANYTHING you might ever need!

Our only issue was the very low slanted ceiling in our room. We hit our heads on it repeatedly. We're apparently slow learners.

Staff we’re very good. The lady behind the reception area was helpful even orientating me to the nearest ATM. Room was reasonable, clean with en-suite. Mattress was comfy, had towels and there was shampoo etc.

Although I did choose the hotel knowing it was on a Plaza I totally forgot how noisy a weekend day can be in Spain. Shutting my skylight to limit the noise was useless, the room also became stifling. The aircon never seemed to get cold. The noise on the plaza went on till 0300hrs then the clean up people start about 0500hrs. Did I sleep- no. So sorry for what I paid and having no sleep, ultimately I did not enjoy my stay.

The location perfect. in a quieter plaza, but only a stroll to the bustling plaza.and castle . Large room and bathroom and very comfortable . Didn’t eat there, so can’t comment. Underground secure parking 2 minutes away, great for motorcycles.

Receptionist , efficient but not as warm as she could have been and had no idea what big event was about to take place in the town. Sent us to tourist info to find out.

Located in one of the mist lovely squares. Room was clean.

The photos can be a little deceiving as to which room you are booking. We stayed two nights and hoped for a balcony, as most pictures show that and the property states “most rooms have a balcony.” However we were assigned a room that had a small window with steps to get up to look out. Looking back at photos, I noticed pictures of our room but at the very end. We were disappointed we didn’t have a balcony and we asked to upgrade the second night but that was not possible. I’d simply encourage guests to specifically request a balcony when the booking is made. Or pictures be more accurate.

We stayed two nights, a great place in the old town of Ponferrada, minutes away from the castle, museums, cafes and restaurants. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, a balcony overlooking the main square. Bathroom in decent size with good shower pressure.

Noise coming from the main square as the town was being decorated for the festive season, therefore we had a significant noise from lorries, forklifts, and other vehicles. They were installing some lights, building a stage, and decorating other buildings. All this from around 8:30-9am. This is not the hotel's fault not even ours. It's just the time of the year and you need to put up with this.

Everything about our stay was great. It was our first night on the camino Frances and it was a perfect choice. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast had lots of options and the staff were very friendly. The location was really nice, in the old part of town. Highly recommended! Great Tex-Mex place a few doors down with excellent staff and great food

Nothing, it was a lovely stay

Everything was excellent. The hotel, location, room and breakfast were all perfect. My favorite of 6 days thus far. Staff were all a joy. Diana, who speaks many languages, greeted us at check-in and was helpful in so many ways , from tourist information to assisting with bus tickets and taxi. Sagre was at the desk early morning and was a joy to talk to as well as was very helpful with planning the day.
