the location, free street parking or private parking for some charges, breakfast was amazing, the staff at night in the dining hall very professional they explained to us everything in English about the menu. thank you guys for your hospitality. also the breakfast team very helpful.definitely we will stay here again.

The hotel restaurant food was excellent, especially the fish, and our kids said the chips were the nicest they ever tasted. They also said the room was as big as an apartment and the beds were really comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent if you are very hungry. Hotel is walking distance from the beach and supermarket. We did not get to spend much time in Santander. Sadly due to a family bereavement we had to leave on the second day so we did not get to explore the area or use the swimming pool The staff were so helpful and kind in helping us to get home urgently. We want to return again some day to stay in this hotel.

There was very little to dislike, other than maybe having a kettle in the room.

Reception: Warm welcome and everything explained to us very clearly. Lovely interesting traditional décor. Suite: Living area, with table, chairs, sofa, T.V. storage and fridge. Bedroom, huge beds with fresh linen, reading lamps, and another T.V. Shower room and toilet with separate sink area. Absolutely spotless, compliments to the cleaning staff, a job really well done. Dining: The food was really good value for money. Breakfast in the morning, had so many choices, there was something for everyone. Requests: Had requested a low floor with rooms close together and they were able to do that. Fantastic. Parking: There is some parking but we had a private hire so didn’t need to use it. Washing Facilities: At the back of the hotel are washing machines and tumble dryers, absolutely great. Base: Made a super touring base. Easy to walk to the beach and there are local Lupa Shops (small supermarkets) not far. Taxi into centre varied between 5 and 8 euros. Santander has so many shops, make space in your suitcase! View: The room has a balcony and our view was of the gym but it is in a built-up area, so that was fine. Cultural Experience: The Gaudi Museum in Comillas. Playa El Sardinero II.

Some of the furnishings are a little dated but still very comfortable. Swimming Facilities: They are adjacent to the hotel and it is a competition pool however it does have a hot pool area next to it and also a gym with cafe.

The room was the star of my stay at Palacio Del Mar. I had asked for a balcony and they gave me a balcony room on the fifth floor. The room was huge…loads of wardrobe space, a table and chairs inside the room …and settee. Bed was very comfortable…and the bathroom towels were absolutely huge and lovely. Very clean.

Not complaints…breakfast was adequate…enough but I have had much better. Served in almost a basement room, I think background music would have improved the ambience…seemed very silent. I, and others, asked for scrambled eggs that had been emptied. Very lovely lady brought them to me…and, I saw, others. But maybe demonstrates that the supply was a little sparse. Bar didn’t open until evening…just making the hotel seem a little too quiet.

The room was very spacious and comfortable with king size bed, a dining area, sofa, big bathroom and balcony. The location was also great if you want to stay close to the beach (not in the city centre). There is also an option to utilize the nearby sports centre for free, we went to the sauna. For using the pool you need to have the swimming cap.

The hotel is a bit older and everything was renovated and comfortable including the bathroom which was great. However the only downside were the electricity sockets - some of them were not functional.

Lovely spacious suite, good room service, we ate in every evening. Very helpful staff at front desk, great locatio by beautiful beach in lovely area, we choose it for access to the swimming pool which is a nice pool.

Very hot at night, noisy from swimming pool next door with windows open . Booking system via booking.com was not helpful, our stay before this cost more because it wouldn't let me book twin room, so for this stay I booked twin room for 1, then added a person, which worked out cheaper.... for same room.

The staff at front desk seemed very polite & check-in was quick & easy. The are two elevators for going to the upper floors & they have glass backs for seeing outside which is cool. The keyless entry system for the rooms is fairly simple & the room itself was surprisingly large. Their is also a door to the adjoining room if required (otherwise it's locked). Their was also a balcony which was nice. The hotels location is great with a supermarket just uphill & the beach just a few minutes away. The hop on-hop off also stops just round the corner which is handy.

Unfortunately the hotel pool is just free entry to the community pool next door. Obviously it was full of people & half of it was shut for lessons, I wasn't crazy about that. The bar at the hotel is also usually left unattended which is understandable but quite annoying. As lovely as the area around the hotel is, eating out choices are quite poor, this is compounded by the fact that the hotel restaurant is closed for a large chunk of the year

It was a full house because of the Spanish national holiday. Still, everything was fine. The beds were comfortable, the room facilities and the breakfast were excellent. 3-4 minutes walk to the beach. I recommend the hotel to everyone!

There was no problem

Very large room with balcony and sea view. Not far from the beach, but from the city center. Apartment would be nicely suited for a longer stay for beach holidays. Decent restaurant. Unusual large parking spaces in the garage.

The promised swimming pool was in sports club in a neighbour building, not easy to reach, big but not amusing - and you have to wear a bathing cap. Thought that habit had died out in the last century. Breakfast and Restaurant were ok, but in the basement without view.

Although slightly further out than I expected we still managed to enjoy our 2 night stay, easy walk to the beach with several restaurants and close to a city sightseeing bus tour, the Menu de Dia was excellent value, the starters were huge and would have liked to have seen a dessert menu rather than being told, it included a bottle of wine as well & that’s fantastic value at 22.00 euros Lovely friendly staff, large well equipped rooms and good free parking
