Lovely hotel and very close to Paris Gard Nor station. Lovely breakfast provided. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

We traveled to Paris as a family of 4, the room we recieved was an excellent size (for Paris) with 1 king bed and 2 singles which were suitable for our 2 teenagers. The girl at recepetion on check in was extemely nice & helpful .. she even arranged for party balloons and a small to be left in our room for our 13 year old son after noticing his birthday on his passport. The room was a bit dated but it is clear that the hotel is currently being updated (Jan'23). The Metro is next door and super easy to navigate around Paris. Breakfast is basic but suitable and surprisingly tastes good. I would be happy to return to this hotel with my family.

The rooms could be doing with a lick of paint .. but it seems like this is happening during our stay. Bathrooms could also be doing with an update but everything works as it should!

I liked this hotel because it's conveniently located on the side of Gare de l'Est, and it's where I take my train from to go the the Grand Est region in the east of France/home. The room I was given was facing the rail road tracks, and the widows were probably double-paned because I could barely hear the noises from the railway staton next door (now, if you open the window it's a different story ;)). The window, to my surprise, opened fully (which is nice because one can air the room at any time). This is important to me because in some hotels you can only open windows partially, and they tilt from the top only (- for safety reasons I presume). I was pleasantly surprised with my view that I could see beyond the railroad tracks. I had views of the tip of Sacre-Coeur to my right, and to my left I could see the tip of the Eiffel Tower (which also sparkles on the hour, every hour after 5 or 6 pm - or as soon as it gets dark), and the Montparnasse tower further to the left. The room was spacious, it had a lot of room for both suitcases and clothes, it had hangers to hang clothes, or a jacket, shelves to put more stuff or clothes, and it also had a little table/desk to eat of work from or what not. The bed was comfy and he TV offered a variety of local channels. The staff were friendly, and helpful, I just wished they told me that breakfast was included in the price.

Even though the bathroom was spacious, and had lots of light, the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. One of the tiles had a smear of something dark brown, and 2 black hairs in the tub. The floor in the room had carpet, and it looked as if it had seen better days, it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed before hand.

Very good location. In general the staff were very helpful. I’d like to mention Victor in particular who assisted us with a problem. The reception team and housekeeping team in general were very nice.

On arrival we spoke to reception about our booking. We had a combined personal and travel agent booking for 4 nights. The reception staff on arrival did not assist us and did not want to assist us. I explained that I had called the hotel on 3 different occasions to avoid any issues on arrival. The lady didn’t care.

Breakfast was too expensive but disappointing Not much options, I only ate croissants. No scrambled eggs, no bread toaster machine, not even pancakes or cheese, except brie. The staff tried to charge me taxes on my check out but I had already paid for everything. No safe in room or tea/coffee/kettle

The breakfast was just what we wanted - lots of fresh fruit and fruit juice, as much coffee as we could drink, fresh bread, cheese ham and tomatoes, cucumber. a really good variety. One morning I came down early to breakfast and all the coffee machines were out of order and the orange juice had run out - not ideal and a sign of poor planning but the staff member working on it was tireless in getting it sorted and smiled when I said thank you. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the environment was child friendly (I loved the table football in reception) which I loved even though I was there for work. My husband loved that we had a view from our room of the gare de l'est and could see the trains coming in and out. Proximity to Gare de l'est and to Gare du nord was part of the reason we chose the hotel. Being right next door to metro line 7 was very useful as was proximity to the Canal St Martin which provided a lovely walk to Republique and the Opera de la Bastille.

There was a great variety of teas but the boule to put them in didn't stop the leaves from getting into the water on the verveine that I wanted to try which made it undrinkable.

Booked 2 rooms with 3 beds, but they were not available at arrival, instead hotel offered 3 rooms with double beds instead. Each double bed had individual mattresses. Two of the rooms were larger and had great views overlooking the train station, one room was smaller and looked over the street. Quiet with windows closed, but you can open the window to take photos of trains. Lobby had a vending machine for drinks, a free foosball table, and a large breakfast area.

Our smaller room had a shower within the bedroom area, while toilet was inside a tiny room. Not suitable for multiple people due to lack of shower privacy. Other two rooms had a spacious bathroom area.

A little noisy being right next to Metro and trains plus a lot of sirens all day and night - ear plugs recommended Had to use a oil radiator (was already supplied in the room on arrival) due to air con system only kicking cold air Had to ask 3/4 times for an additional pillow Some general maintenance needed in the rooms (bathroom ceiling tiles were a bit grubby looking)

i lovked my key in my luggage and needed them to break open the padlock. the receptionist did not have the tool and told me I’d have to wait for maintenance to come from their other hotel. i called the hotel gare du nord myself and they told me i could go over and they would help me - which I did as it was only a 2 min walk! the ibis gare de l’est didnt even bother to call their gard du nord hotel themselves!

Great location, easy to find, easy check in, very big room , helpful staff and lovely to be able to get water and coffee in reception. Our room was very quiet. Felt safe and secure.

Would have liked a safety deposit box. Parts of the bathroom were shabby - holes in the wall and the bath / shower was in very poor condition. Not enough toilet roll for a family of four.
