Great food and generally friendly staff

Issue with staff training. Was told by staff at restaurant that there was no issue putting drinks bill on our room only to be woken up an hour later by Jennifer accusing us of have done a runner from the restaurant without paying for our drinks. As we had been asleep we couldn’t immediately find a card to pay so she threatened to send someone up to the room to collect payment in cash. Really unpleasant experience which spoiled our 39th wedding anniversary - despite the kitchen very kindly doing us a special dessert platter with “Happy Anniversary “ on the plate - much appreciated, thank you.

The Rose Hotel was spacious and well located. It is an easy walk into town through the Rose Park and Rose gardens. The room was spacious enough for two friends and it had a great breakfast menu and a well equipped gym. The reception staff that greeted us in the afternoon were lovely - very helpful and responsive. The concierge (Stephen) was so helpful and provided a lot of information about the town and where to go. The two breakfast staff (Falou and Amilou) were friendly and chased up coffees for us, always smiling when we asked for anything.

The staff in the bar couldn't be more helpful, as we eat there both nights..also the location of the hotel suits us perfectly as we like to walk and it so easy to access the town and the surrounding areas. We had a very relaxing two nights, we certainly will be back.

To be honest there was nothing to really complain about...one thing we both noticed and commented on, was the duty manager walking in and out passing us as we sat at the reception area, he never once made eye contact with us or any other guests..(A smile goes a long way)

We enjoyed our stay very much,however i had booked w Maud almost 10 months in advance asked for a certain table in the restaurant which was agreed on ,and then not available ,so this was very disappointing,as we were only a group of 8/9people wanted a round table and as you know changed the whole dynamic.I also requested cocktails before dinner this was also a big issue as the barman was busy at another function,we stayed at the hotel which was very pleasant but overall was disappointed with our meal only because of the facts that I have outlined,it was a special occasion and didn’t quite live up to my expectations,the staff are very caring and helpful and I wish you all a good season.

Very centrally located with good free parking. Rooms very spacious and well equipped. I personally thought the bed was a little firm but if I had been staying more than one night I believe you can request a mattress topper to be added (?). EV charging on site was a bonus as I could leave it charging overnight and be ready to head off with a full charge in the morning Breakfast was very good. Nice selection and staff exceptionally pleasant

The day I departed, there was First Communion celebration. The kids were out of control…. They thought the lobby and bar areas were their playground… I mentioned this aberrant behavior to the front desk and was informed that there was nothing they could do. Staff needs to be trained to handle unruly behavior so that the paying guests can enjoy their stay without listening to the profane language of kids and the adults …

Breakfast lovely. Lots of choices. Staff really polite. Beautiful dining room.

Perhaps mention on the menu non meat options. And perhaps give those seated at least 5-10 minutes before asking what their cooked breakfast choice is to be. Lovely dining area so would like just those few extra minutes before having to order. But staff were amazing. So thank you.

The fact that we couldn’t access the room by 2.30 given the fact that we were sat 2 if a wedding and heading to Fenit @ 2pm by coach and explained that we wouldn’t be back at the hotel til at least 2am in the morning. When we did get back to the hotel @1.30, our cases were still in the car and there was nobody at reception to give us our key. We were exhausted. We were not happy to leave our cases at reception while we were in Fenit as I had quite a bit of jewellery in mine and there wasn’t anyone ‘manning’ reception (which was obvious at 1.30 am when we arrived back from Fenit) the young gentleman was lovely, not so though his female comrade I wasn’t impressed with the FAKE buxus plant in the ‘not so clean’ balcony. The money we were paying warranted a real plant.

Great hotel with an engaging pre-arrival experience. Very thorough, great follow up and responsive so an amazing first impression which was followed through with Reception (Maxzym) who was efficient and friendly both on check in and check out!

We had not booked dinner at the restuarant as we were told we could do a walk up at the bar and could have a drink if there was a wait which is what we decided as we didnt know our arrival time. Our experience at the bar on arrival was very poor .. it took 2 of us to try and interact with 4 different people before we could even get a drink. The whole experience was rescued by Kirby-Ann who was definitely doing the work of 3 people but when we spoke with her she seated us at the bar, got us drinks and then ensured we were found a table within the 30 minutes which she had flagged to us as the likely waiting time. The food and table service were great. Without her this review would have been VERY different!

Excellent location Beautiful hotel

Shower not working in the room. Thought the rate for board only was high €230 compared to other hotels in the town being cheaper and they offered a BB price €190 At breakfast was questioned had we being in already and eaten , as the couple we were travelling with had came down before us and got the table for 4 people so our room number was crossed off. It took some convincing in front of other guests. We were embarrassed
