Great location, not expensive for London

Everything is dated. Downstairs bar is dismal. Superb location on the Heath but that view totally wasted as the bars are either in the basement or out the back. Carpets tired, beds tired…

I love the Clarendon I've stayed several times over the last 20 years and always really enjoy my stay. The position of the hotel is wonderful. Right opposote the heath, 10 mins walk from Greenwich Park and then around 15 mins through the park to Greenwich and the Thames. Blackheath station is 5 or 6 minutes walk from the hotel from where a train to central London is 20 minutes or London Bridge is less than 15 mins. There are also bus stops right outside the hotel from where you can take a bus to various parts of London including the O2 and the ABBA venue. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable and well staffed and the food is freshly cooked and really good value. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and very good quality and the service is attentive without being too fussy.

We requested a quiet room and were pleased with its location upstairs and at the back of the hotel. Our room was bright and comfortable, serviced daily (including making the bed, taking away the rubbish, and providing fresh towels). The hotel allowed guests to use their laundry (at a fee), but there were no clothes airers where we could leave clothes to dry if we didn't want to use a dryer. The hot and cold breakfast options were sufficient, and the wait staff were very accommodating. The hotel is just a five-minute walk from Blackheath Overground railway station.

Our bed was a bit lumpy, but after a day out and about walking around London, we didn't notice this too much. Otherwise, The Clarendon is a good three-star tourist hotel.

The location is fantastic—Greenwich is a beautiful and vibrant area. It’s convenient for visiting London, with easy access by train, underground, or taxi/Uber. The neighborhood is calm, pleasant, and offers a peaceful break from the noise of the city. The hotel itself is lovely and well-maintained. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and offers a good start to the day. There is a wonderful garden where you can relax with your coffee or tea.

It is an older hotel with an older less diverse clientele. Nice quiet neighborhood, with convenient bus stops and a train station within a five minute walk. Excellent included breakfast and water by the reception desk. And an excellent fan which was needed with this weather.

The age was clearly visible in the bathroom, the door to the bathroom wouldn't close unless you banged against it loudly. This was really inconvenient especially if you had to use the toilet at night while everyone else in the room was asleep. This was room 182. The bathtub is also quite high as far as climbing in and out, while the tub did not look inviting enough for a bath.

The location was great as it was next to the festival held at Blackheath Park. The staff were kind and helpful as always. I have stayed here multiple times now. The breakfast was great, although more FRUIT OPTIONS could have been available. Regarding the rooms, the bed comfort was ok. The actual room was spacious and had all you need. It was clean too.

Please could you provide hot chocolate with the tea and coffee :). The mobile shower head was powerful, but the stationary, over the head shower, was rubbish! Thankfully, the other one did the job, although I did need to hold it for the duration of the shower.

Great hotel, especially for the money. Very friendly welcome and helpful staff. All very relaxed and easy, whilst also incredibly busy. Room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking trees (could just see the spikes of the Millennium Dome over the trees). Quiet, comfortable and not that stuffy, hermetically sealed feeling you get in modern hotels (if that's your thing, don't come here). When we opened the window, because it was a lovely day, it was birdsong and a breeze. It has character, and we like that. Nice dining room (spacious, historical and airy). AND we could park outside and walk everywhere down to the river and along from the hotel.

My husband found the bathroom a bit small, but that was splitting hairs!

The room was comfortable and quaint, the staff was super welcoming, helpful, and lovely, and the pre-marathon dinner and breakfasts were tasty. It's in a pretty setting and perfect if you are running the marathon or want to stay in a lovely area. Thanks again for being wonderful!!

The only things I'd recommend are: - Perhaps get some lamps that have a USB port in them. That way, your device is charging on your bedside table, and you don't have to remember to turn on the switch for the outlet to work. (I usually do, but sometimes one forgets.) -Not sure if this is normal, but when the hotel called a taxi for me, it was twice as much as when I got an uber going the same distance. If that's normal, then give us a heads up; if it's not normal, well, that's life - it happens!
