I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The service is very kind and gladly helped with luggage storage after check out, answered any questions with patience and a smile. Cleanliness is maintained at the highest level! The biggest advantage is the location, a few minutes from the main square, bus stops to the Santa Claus village and rauna zoo. Perfect place for a trip to Finnish Lapland at a good price and comfortable conditions.

Location of this guesthouse is excellent - max 10min walk to the centre (if you book some activities), 5min to the airport bus stop (8 euros/ride) and local bus n.8 that goes to Santa Claus village (3,60 euro). There is a mall within 10min walk and small supermarket around the corner (open until 23.00). Very nice and humble owner, ready to help with anything and answer any questions. The design is outdated, but I appreciated the functionality. I was actually surprised how well equipped my room was - fridge, TV, kettle, some plates, cups and cutlery, even some teabags and instant coffee. Bed was comfortable (but narrow), room is non-smoking and well heated, everything was very clean. Huge plus is a little sink in the room so you don't need to use the shared bathroom to wash your face, brush your teeth, etc. As someone who absolutely hates sharing facilities, I was very anxious about this but have to say that it was one of my best experiences (clean, hot water, towels provided, possibility to do laundry for 2 euros/wash, hairdryer available). There is also an option to leave your bags before check-in/after check-out free of charge. This place is a perfect option if you are booking last minute like me and/or travelling on budged. I liked my stay very much, kiitos!

It was not a problem for me but just know the reception is not open all day, however there is a number on the door you can call if there is something urgent. The only real disadvantage would be thin walls - you can hear everything and not everyone respects night hours (not the owner’s fault of course). If you are a light sleeper and get a room next to the shared toilet or bathroom, you will not be able to rest properly. The bed in single room was pretty narrow and I am not a big person...it would also be nice to have an en suite room option for some extra fee.

This form of hostel -Matkustajakoti is an older form of accommodation and very exciting. Read about it on Finnish Wikipedia and translate the page! Staying at this hostel was an experience in itself. My room had a cozy painting of a forest and the bathroom kitschy green and yellow tiles. The man who runs it was kind and humble. I felt like in a film. The facade and “Outa” sign is beautiful brutalist. This is a stay for people who appreciate a cinematic atmosphere. Recommend it 10/10 and will think back on this as my main memory from Rovaniemi

For me, the initial appeal was the pristine cleanliness of the apartment, especially in the shared bathroom. The room was warm and cozy, and the bed was comfortable, providing a home-like sleep experience. All the necessary . facilities for a restful stay after outdoor activities were available. The website accurately described these amenities, and Mika was kindly available for any helpful advice! Well done!

The only minor issue was that some guests inadvertently slammed doors, and the lockers were a bit clicky, requiring a manual touch for a quieter closure. I guess, it's not the owner's responsibility to instruct guests on how to handle these details.:)

I highly recommend this hostel because not only the room was warm, cozy, clean and comfortable but also the owners were so kind that they held our luggage before check in and after check out. Furthermore, they told me where to se the northern lights and kept the room and bathrooms always clean. They maintained literally everything! There were cups, a kettle, a microwave and cutlery which we needed for a long stay. Love this place!

I LOVE IT! Super cozy! The room was so clean, comfy with everything that I needed. There is a lavatory in the room, I was able to wash my teeth and make my skincare routine without using the shared bathroom. There is a microwave, kettle and dishes, which is great! The shared bathroom was super clean and warm, better than my own house haha. The staff is also very nice, I would definitely come back!! Aaand the location is PERFECT

I used to stay here on a weekly basis 25 years ago. I have to say, not much if anything has changed. It was actually nice stepping back into the old days! Quite comfortable and has the basic amenities you need. Good WIFI (that is something new). Very pleasant check-in and local information available.

It is starting to show its age, so renovations would be nice unless you really are looking for that nostalgic feeling.

Good location close to city centre, bus station and railway station. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was a decent size and well-equipped. Room was warm and comfortable. Shared toilets/bathroom, but I had no problems waiting. Great place to stay if you are on a budget and just want to get some rest.

Decor is very dated and the building needed some renovation, but it's not really a big deal.

The staff was so friendly, welcoming and accepting. The location is perfect - walking distance to many places (travel agencies, supermarkets, the mall, restaurants, bus stop etc). The room is very comfortable, clean and has basic furniture. The bathroom was close to my room and was always very clean. The price was very fair.

Location superb,room was always warm cosy,staff were helpful ,3 min walk to the number 8 bus stop ,which dropped at Santa's village also airport right in front of the departures 🛫 👍🏼also shopping mall # supermarket also 3 mins walk , trainstation is 9 min walk also the city centre /restaurant also 8 min walk so AMAZING LOCATION
