This property is gem, beautiful boutique hotel, it takes you back to time when Canadian confederacy was born, also our late Queen Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh stayed here during their visit in 1973 for PEI centennial. Beside history that this unique hotel holds, it also is very clean, with updated rooms, nice restaurant serving ala carte breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also there is very nice bar with outside patio and hotel has roof patio as well. Highly recommend this beautiful gem of a hotel.

I always stay at the Rodd Charlottetown when I have to stay in Charlottetown overnight. I love the very central inner CBD location, I love the convenience of the dining room and the friendliness of the staff. I also love the solid vintage character of the Rodd Charlottetown, which began life as the railway hotel for Charlottetown and still has some of that charm. There is a lot of renovation work going on but I hope they hang onto the charm and don't make it too generic.

Off hand can't think of anything worth complaining about.

The room was pretty nice and had all the amenities needed. The staff were pretty great: attentive and knowledgeable. We had asked for an HDMI cable and help with the TV. The maintenance guy came to us 10 minutes later to help. They did not have an adaptor but the fact that we received an answer promptly with no reminder is commendable. The location was amazing, close to everything. The restaurant downstairs was not bad too.

The door of the room was not easy to open. We had to push it several times before it would open. It also did not close from the inside which was not convenient for us at all. Also, there must have been some kind of generator or something else making a loud humming noise right next to us which was quite annoying and uncomfortable. The stay was nice but quite expensive. Would stay again but not for that price.

The Rodd is located in downtown Charlottetown, within walking distance of everything. The hotel has an elegant 19th century feel. This includes the rooms which appear to be original. The rooms are admittedly on the small side, but this is made up for by their antique charm. Our room included a bottle of wine and two glasses, which was a lovely touch. The bar area in the main floor has a bustling intimacy. To sit at the bar or in the barroom with a martini and a plate of mussels makes one feel as though time has stood still. The staff are all friendly and offer assistance without being asked. The beds are extraordinarily comfortable.

Room lighting should be a little brighter. Also, the double beds are small — we got around this by taking a room with two beds. And while the menu at Chambers is decent, some of the food is overly fried and dated tasting. A menu update would be welcome.

Upon arrival, the WiFi was very spotty and kept dropping. When we brought it to the attention of the General Manager, Kevin Jay, he was terrific. He listened to us & investigated and corrected the issue as quickly as he could and kept us informed throughout the entire process. We were most impressed with his attitude & follow-through. The beds were also incredibly comfortable and we would love to know what make they were so we can get the same for our home!!!

Swimming pool was a little ‘tired’.

Love the history the hotel & city have to offer, staff were all lovely and the restaurant was great also. We ended up needing a later checkout time which was accommodated without issue. Check out was fast and easy. We would love to return in the future.

There was some construction during our stay which was a bit unlucky, especially when traveling with a baby the noise can be tricky. We booked this hotel with a discounted rate, which made sense when we saw they were undergoing renovations.

Comfortable, historic hotel. Location is good, 10 minute walk to restaurants and main strip. 15 minutes to the waterfront. Hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable.

Room only had one chair to sit in if not in bed and large writing desk that wasn’t useful and took up space. Water pressure was low so not great shower experience. No hot tub in pool area which would have been nice for golfers.

Beautiful old hotel. Excellent comfy beds and room serviced everyday. Pool is nice but very warm like a bath tub. Restaurants are good, nice sitting area outside.

Our issue was lack of hot water. We had hot water the morning we left but that was the only time. We made do with washes in the sink and to be fair, we didn't call down to report. It's an old hotel and I know they are renovating but by bit. We got by and we did mention to the desk when checking out so hopefully they'll be fixing the issue.

The Hotel is amazing with its old architecture. Knowing it was used by the British Royals on multiple occasions added a cool sense to the experience. Great value for what you are getting. Would come again.

Booking lists this property as breakfast included. But it is not. There is an extra add on for the breakfast to be included. That is booking.com fault not the property in my opinion.

Paper cups, china should be provided and enough for the occupancy, including glassware and towels The beds are too soft Clothing was discovered under the bed from the previous occupants, obviously not cleaned thoroughly although from appearances it was fine. However we found it necessary to keep the daily cleaners out because they would remove items , cups and towels, we requested for our comfort
