This is a beautiful place in a great location. The rooms were spacious, clean and well stocked. Our family of four were not cramped and all slept comfortably on the two queen beds and futon. The staff were all very attentive, helpful and friendly and the breakfast they provided was delicious. Though there was construction happening on Grafton Street, we didn’t hear a thing, had no trouble accessing the parking lot and the road workers were very accommodating when we wanted to come and go from the hotel. This was a wonderful place to stay for our two-night visit to Charlottetown and we would definitely recommend booking here.

Everything was great and we don’t have a single complaint.

The staff is exceptionally efficient and friendly. The breakfast is kept plentiful and varied. It always includes fruits, juices, cereals, bread/toasts, yogurt, baked items, coffee and tea. There are always a few snacks available all day and night, as well as a complimentary tray of cookies at reception. The location is great, only a couple of blocks from the restaurants and coffee shops. Everything is within walking distance. The neighborhood has many old houses and buildings, and is close to the boardwalk. There is free parking on site. The ride to the airport is about 15 to 20 minutes. We stayed a week and enjoyed our stay very much. We definitely recommend the Sonata Inn.

There really isn't much we did not like. Our room did not have a view but it was otherwise very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and convenient. The towels were changed as often as needed, so were the bed sheets.

Great location for an easy walk into Charlottetown or a stroll along the waterfront. Check-in was easy, the room was clean, the staff were friendly, parking was available and the breakfast was simple but satisfying.

The pillows were… interesting? I slept quite well with them, but they were definitely on the flatter side and not my husband’s preference. Perhaps they have others available upon request, but in our room we had only thinner, more dense options and two were needed to achieve a normal thickness.

It had a great central location, close to downtown places of interest but on a quiet part of the street. The park and boardwalk was nearby. Parking was very convenient on-site at the side of the building The building is very well kept, clean, inviting with a warm atmosphere. The room was very spacious, clean and equipped with everything we needed. Our request for a ground floor room with futon was fulfillled with the futon made up for us when we checked in. The staff gave great recommendations on places to eat and sightsee. The buffet breakfast had a great selection with a variety of pastries changing daily. We had a wonderful stay and would love to stay again on our next visit to Charlottetown!

Nothing. Loved everything about The Sonata Inn!

In character with older heritage buildings this 13 room inn had all the amenities one would expect for it as well as a close proximity to the core waterfront. It was less expensive than the nearby inns of comparative age. The proprietors were relatively new and worked towards providing an excellent breakfast which for some reason was advertised as continental (either on Booking.com or on Inn’s website) but it was much more elaborate. Both hot and cold buffet style with bacon, sausages, eggs and croissants and bagels, plus specialty items as well. There were even some home baked items at the front desk and in common kitchen areas. The owner has a degree in tourism from the island ‘s university and he was a pleasure to meet as he took the time to chat and give good directions. Most appreciated was the room was ready in advance of check-in by 3 hours! Rare to find that even if I had requested early check-in. We were able to unload early and walk all around Charlottetown’s waterfront and core area before returning to a wonderful rest on the third floor on the warmest October day in history!

The only disappointment was the hot water did not manage to reach even warm temperatures. Likely due to the number of guests or simply the temperature was turned too low. We did not complain as we had already had that need met at a hotel the night before but it certainly could be an issue for many guests.

Plenty of breakfast choice, friendly and helpful staff, great extra eg clothes washing facilities, easy walk to town and park, parking, lovely location, beautiful old house, guest kitchen area for drinks and with microwave, fridge and freezer, ice making machine. The staff seemed to have thought of everything and tried to make sure every guest was happy and to help where needed, including advising places to visit or eat.

The staff were friendly and were happy to store our luggage for us. What made us happiest was that they had welcome sweets, which changed every day! They were also homemade, so the wonderful aroma of baking made us even more excited! It was close to the city and the sea, and the view from Victoria Park along the waterfront was amazing!

It's not a bad thing, though... The facilities were a little old, but they were well-maintained, so it wasn't a problem.

Breakfast and area exceptional and why I would stay there again. Hotel well away from traffic noise. Staff very keen to provide a service. Guest kitchenette with water /pop and microwave much appreciated. I also like the long outdoor ramp almost like coming aboard a ship. Adds nicely to the holiday atmosphere.

Any kitchen staff mingling in with guests to help themselves to breakfast between 7:30 & 10 pm is not a good idea. My room lacked ambiance for the price. Net curtains need to be sparkling white and remove those poor pictures and replace with PEI souvenir items screwed to wall. Bedside lamps need to be brighter. When a guest first sees the room.. several lamps should be on to make it most welcoming.

Spacious. Comfortable bed. Lovely services such as laundry, homemade baking at all times of the day, fridge In both your room and in a common guest kitchen where you could also make tea or coffee yourself and a sink where it was easy to fill your water bottles for the day. Breakfasts were good, buffet style. Would have liked cut fruit or berries for cereal but there were whole fruits like bananas and apples and oranges. Brown bread would have been appreciated. Owners are new, competent, quietly friendly, eager to please. Nice location to walk to the water and to the old town and restaurant area.

The only thing was that our room had low water pressure and the water rarely got hot. Warm enough for a shower but worried it would run out (did not). Told the host and he will look into it for the future. As I said, he’s eager to please his guests and is making updates as possible.

The location is awesome! It’s close to everything – the boardwalk, historic houses, and downtown are all within walking distance. We hardly had to drive anywhere. The staff are super friendly and quick to respond to any questions. Housekeeping did a great job every day, making sure our room was clean and fresh. Our room had these big windows that let in a ton of sunlight, which made waking up really nice. The breakfast offered a good variety of selections.

The parking situation was a bit of a hassle. There aren't assigned spots, so it’s first come, first serve. If you leave for a while, you might come back to find there’s no parking left. Another thing that was annoying is the way inquiries are handled. You have to go down to the lobby and ring a bell instead of just calling from your room. It would be way more convenient if there was a phone in the room to call for help or ask questions. The room itself was a bit outdated.
