Overall the hotel was very nice: - very good location (in the middle of South Beach, and also close to the shopping&restaurants area) - the room was clean and comfortable - the breakfast included from the sister hotel was decent (classic american). We enjoyed our stay, and the price was appropriate considering the location and the breakfast included. We would go back.

A couple of minor things to note: -the reception staff in our hotel seemed a bit indiferent. -our room did not have very good sound isolation so we could hear the neighbors' door closing, kids running through the corridor etc. It wasn't too bad, we were too tired from all the walking so it didn't affect us, but might affect other people. -unless you're getting an ocean view room, don't expect a good view, the room will be overseeing a side street / the wall of another building (it wasn't an issue, as we hardly spent any time in the room, but just something to note).

I had a pleasant stay at Penguin Hotel, and I want to stay with you again ASAP! The room I booked was exactly what I got, complete with a great view and close proximity to the beach. The receptionists, especially the ladies, were extremely friendly, though the male receptionist was not as welcoming. Housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient, but the maintenance guys were a bit unfriendly. Overall, a good experience with some room for improvement in staff friendliness.

The Wi-Fi was weak, but I didn't go for the Wi-Fi. The breakfast was the same every day.

The hotel staff, the view, and location.

The breakfast was so-so, and service in the restaurant uneven. We were told the only jelly, for toast, is locked in the chefs fridge, and that hotel guests are not allowed any. Toast was dry and cold- you had to request butter. We tried to have a dinner there, the first evening, and the food and service were both terrible. Asked for change for a 20, to tip one nice bartender- no change.

Great location on ocean drive. We had the terrace room so got a great view of sunrise . Ruby at checkin was super friendly offering us drinks vouchers + ease of getting beach umbrellas, beach chairs, towels. Stunning location to enjoy the ocean drive with a short walk to beach.

Room and bathroom was very compact for my comfort. One has to walk to the hotel president for breakfast and drinks.

The location is perfect! The views are beautiful, so close to the beach and close to all the restaurants is amazing. This was our 2nd time at this hotel and would definitely stay again.

We had the top floor room with the balcony/patio which was beautiful except that the room is right up against the elevator shaft so we would hear that banging/clanging all the time which was not great. The shower was also not set up well with it being open on one side, would be better with a sliding door to minimize the water that splashed all over the floor. We were also disappointed that the complimentary breakfast had changed to continental style vs our last visit it was done by the restaurant next door with limited options that was much better!

We always love our stay here! The location is perfect and the staff are all so friendly and helpful! Very clean and comfortable beds!

Hopefully the ice machine gets fixed soon! I think they used to have umbrellas and tables out front too which provided more space to hang out with friends and chat! Pool attendant wasn’t so friendly this time as in the past.

Loved the location, it's right on the beach and the view was beautiful. Wish I could have stayed longer. It'd be somewhere I'd go again in the future because of the location. I've recommended it to friends for a more affordable place to stay. They also gave me two welcome drinks which was so nice after a day of travel.

The check in process was a bit confusing. Cars have to drop you off at the end of the street entrance, then you walk to the hotel. When I go there, there was a sign that said the front desk employee would be back. I didn't realize it also listed instructions to walk around the corner to the sister hotel to check in there instead. So I waited for a while in the lobby.

The hotel is right on the Ocean Dr, so in terms of location, it cannot get any better than that. The room was pretty good and the bathroom was very clean. The included breakfast was also really good, but it wasn't necessarily in great quantity.

The AC unit was pretty loud and our keycards stopped working a few times which isn't a big deal, but the person at the reception wasn't particularly friendly (not that he did anything wrong, he just wasn't very welcoming).

Location: close to the beach and all main attractions, free taxi from the airport to the hotel, great pleasant staff members, clean rooms ( cleaning ladies do an amazing job! ), very decent breakfast! There is a good variety of restaurants offering all kinds of cuisines. Walgreens is just around the corner and has everything you might need during your stay.

The location is right in heart of Art Deco district, extremely clean and right across from the beach. We had an amazing deck, clean room, and nice breakfast in a sister hotel behind us.

Facility is in need of some maintenance but that's probably why we were able to afford the room with huge top floor balcony. Hard to get to the lobby with a lot of luggage due to no vehicle access, and you do have to get your luggage up a flight of stairs for room #401. But worth it for the view!
