This place was so cute and quaint. The rooms were spacious, and the bed was super comfy. They're really good at the little things, like the way they wrap the towels, the food and drinks that are provided, and the bamboo bath that was perfect after a long day of walking. Some people might prefer a public onsen, but I much preferred this as I was able to relax without the awkwardness of a public bath etiquette. You also get given a kimono that you can wear around the hotel which was very comfortable. The food was incredible, too. I'm amazed at how 1 chef was able to cook everything to perfection with multiple tables and with a 6 or 7 course meal per table! It was some of the best food I had whilst in Japan. The servers were also super friendly, the main one (I didn't catch her name), but she was lovely, she'd explain each dish as they came out. Every breakfast and dinner was different. A couple of things to note: 1. Location - it's in a quiet area, which is great for getting a good night's sleep, but it is a little bit of a walk or train ride away to get to some of the attractions. For us, this was fine as we liked walking everywhere and finding things along the way, but it's worth knowing when you book it. 2. There are fixed meal times (8am is the earliest for breakfast and 7:30pm was the latest dinner slot). This meant we couldn't get up early to try and miss the crowds. Similarly, with dinner, we had to make sure we were back in time as all meals were included. Now, whilst this made things a little tricky, the food was so delicious we didn't want to miss any of the meals.

The place is exceptional in every way. The food and architecture are perfection. Ryokan's are very expensive and I only found a few that were @$700 a night. Would stay here again.
We found dust and someone else's clothes under the bed. The front reception carpet looked like it needed a shampooing. The picture of the room I was expecting and the room we got were not the same. I was shown a vaulted ceiling not a flat ceiling. The main windows opened to a cement wall. I didn't like that everyone got the same meal and that you had to plan what meals you were eating there days in advance.

It’s the perfect place for us to unwind and relax after walking 20k steps per day. The room was quiet and spacious; equipped with all the amenities that you need. We wore their yukata to our meals and pajamas to bed. And both the shower and wooden bath felt really nice, something about the tiles in the shower room made me feel very calm and zen (it felt like all my troubles and worries were washed away with the water). The meals (kaiseki) served were delicate and delicious and I had the best beef of my life and almost teared up during my meal. The staff were very warm, helpful and welcoming too. The whole experience felt like a treat. 10/10 would recommend this place!

The location was an easy train from Kyoto Station. It took us 10 mins. It's a walkable distance to the major shopping areas. We love the special touches of the rooms with the folded towels in the basket and the snacks/ drinks that were complimentary. The host was absolutely a gem! We felt very well taken care of. The breakfast was so special in the dining room and with the presentation. The garden and the facilities were a plus. The beds were so comfortable and the esthetics were very luxurious in an old school type of way.
No comments as everything was delightful.

Absolutely exceptional stay. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. The soft smell of incense floated through the air as we were seamlessly checked in and escorted through the beautiful courtyard to our very spacious room complete with amenities such as complimentary tea, coffee, snacks and beverage fridge. The grounds are stunning and so cared for. The Kaiseki meals (including the traditional Japanese breakfasts were not only delicious, but so beautiful, I didn't want to eat them lol. Our time here was an absolute dream. If you are considering this Ryokan, do not hesitate.

Beyond exceptional experience. If I could go back to Japan and spend a month I would choose to stay exclusively here. It was cozy, clean, quiet, spacious and most importantly was the people working there. They were so kind and felt like family. We would come out of our room and they would have our shoes lined up for us. They gave great advice and they were so kind. The memories of morning coffee in the library will stay with me forever.
I can’t think of one thing I didn’t like.

The room and facilities were exactly as shown on the website. There is a small lounge area with a small massage pad. Lounge was cosy with plenty of drinks to choose from. It was a good place to gather with friends and family after dinner. I stayed for 4N and had 4 dinners. Menu changes every day. The hotel was nice enough to refund me for the two breakfasts I cancelled. Hotel could arrange for luggage to be transferred to Kyoto station at a fee. This service is helpful as we depart Kyoto late in the evening.
The location is a bit of a distance from the train station. But it’s still manageable to walk even to places like Kyoto station and Nishiki Market. This aspect has been mentioned by some other reviewers. What I find it disappointing is the Kaiseiki dinners that didn’t look close to what was posted on the website. The food served were simple and plain looking. Perhaps even look like it’s out from the bento box. Sadly, I didn’t look forward to the dinners there.

My daughter and I had the kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast. It was our first time in Japan, and eating traditional meals was an exploration. Kaiseki is a traditional eight-course dinner in Kyoto, with numerous small plates featuring local and seasonal ingredients. I don't have anything to compare it to. Each course was a work of art and a taste adventure. If you're staying in a ryokan, I'd suggest introducing yourself to the traditional Japanese food. The location is on a narrow, quiet street in the city. Once you are inside the door of the ryokan, you're in a different world. The furnishings are simple and elegant; the garden is beautiful, it's quiet and relaxing. The room has its own private onsen tub for soaking-- wonderful after walking around all day. Guest are provided with robes and high quality amenities including materials for making tea or coffee in your room-- nice to sip while looking out at the garden.
I don't have any complaints. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The hospitality at Muromachi Yutone is exceptional. I really felt valued and cared about, versus just another customer. Everything that is provided is very thoughtful, from the towels, to the facial products in the bathroom, to the coffee and drinks in our room. I also liked the peaceful courtyard and the library room. The food though. Just spectacular. We had two dinners and two breakfasts and all of our meals were splendid and delicious. Since we had multiple dinners, the chef specifically made us something different for our second dinner. This level of care and hospitality made our stay truly memorable.
The room that we stayed in was very quaint (we loved it) but if you have a lot of large suitcases or luggage you may have more difficult time finding space for your bags.

The authentic Japanese hospitality. All staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner in the hotel are amazing. The lady who served us food is amazing and wonderful. We love this place and feel like home. The place is cozy and friendly. The food is authentic taste. We love everything.
we stayed in the ground floor . Sometimes the noise from the door open to the common room can get in the room. However, no big deal.
