Such a luxurious hotel right next to Shinagawa station. The staff were incredibly kind and always willing to help with anything you may need. Being basically in Shinagawa station was so helpful coming from Narita airport and was well connected to the rest of Tokyo. The bathtub was spacious and luxurious and the bed was extremely comfortable. This was probably my favorite hotel we stayed in in Japan and we will definitely be staying again next time we come to Tokyo.

Honestly there isn't much to complain about! I'd say the only thing I think they could improve on is if they had a few more in room amenities like other hotels in Japan. But that's such a nitpick cause this was truly an incredible hotel.

I recently stayed at The Strings Continental Japan Tokyo, and I had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful with stunning views, and everything was exceptionally clean. The customer service was top-notch, with friendly staff providing 10/10 service every single day. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming throughout the hotel. I opted for the breakfast buffet, and I’m glad I did – the food was delicious and made for a great start to each day. The only downside was the need to rely on the train system daily, as taxis are expensive, but it’s manageable if you’re prepared. Overall, I had a 10/10 stay and would highly recommend it!

The breakfast is lavish - so many options. Worth the price. Got a late check out which was nice but you need to be a IHG member for that and for free internet. Get a membership number. It had a small but useful gym. The location near Shinagawa station was great - for direct train to Haneda and to the bullet train to Osaka and Hiroshima.

The room was small a basic double room. Big bed, however, it felt like it was king size. Nice closet but not many drawers for clothes. I would try to get a room that did not face the tracks. I think I would have had to pay more for a different view.

Out of 10 being the highest - The location 10 (3 mintes walk, if that, to Shinagawa Station, a major hub in Tokyo). Breakfast 10 (partly because of the out of the oven, fantastic croissants & fresh made smoothies delivered to the table, daily; Japanese, Chinese, and Continental elements; made to order station with great chefs). Wide open, high ceiling lounge for breakfast 10. Very quiet room 10. Good view 10. Laundry service 10. Ease of checking out 10.

Reception area was too small. Lack of hours @ its Chinese Restaurant, which produces wonderful dishes (dinner was not available).

We had a wonderful stay at the Intercontinental Strings Hotel in Tokyo this past July. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with incredible warmth and professionalism. The hospitality we received each morning at breakfast was a highlight of our stay—it felt so personal and thoughtful, making our mornings extra special. The rooms were spacious, beautifully maintained, and offered all the comfort we needed for a family stay. We truly appreciated the hotel’s convenient location near Shinagawa Station, which made getting around Tokyo easy and stress-free. Overall, the hotel provided an excellent balance of luxury, comfort, and hospitality, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Tokyo.

Breakfast buffet was exceptional. Fresh bakery goods, solid Japanese options, fun quality Chinese dishes, good options of juices... and the floor servers were very attentive. And laundry was super well done. Even an old stain on a shirt was removed.

I'd like to have 2 sets of towels per person. For 2 of us, there were 3... The room was not dirty but something was missing from super clean "feeling." Also, you should have recycle bin. And the quality of greentea bags was poor... we are in JAPAN! And the worst, not enough hooks in the bathroom! We needed a hook or two per person. And we didn't like the day bed sofa. Pls give us 2 chairs for the table, instead. Overall, this stay was very much on the par with Tokyo Westin, but for the price and location, I'd be staying here in the future.

Location to shinagawa train station was great. Easy to get to anywhere in Tokyo. Breakfast was also good. Restaurant staff were extremely nice and helpful. Rooms were clean, spacious and the fitness room was good enough

I would have wanted more help from the concierge when we wanted to make reservations or have recommendations. It didn't feel like above and beyond jn my opinion. This didn't detract from our vacation however.

It was right next to Shinagawa station which was convenient for us to get to the airport on our last day. Everything was good and room was comfortable and spacious throughout. Room service was immaculate. We were given the option to upgrade at a cost but we didn't take it as we're only staying for one night.

It was on the expensive end of hotel rooms. It would be amazing if they have actually given us the upgrade for free.

Loved the hotel and the club lounge experience! The hotel is in a fantastic spot - Shinagawa station connects to everything. Also great restaurants nearby both small noodle bars and bigger restaurants. The station also has an isetan (supermarket) and corner stores (7 eleven, newsday etc)

Excellent location right next to Shinagawa station. The hotel reception is located on the 26th floor and easiest pedestrian access is via level 2 from the station external concourse (turn right at Dean & Deluca if you are coming off the train). The hotel is very minimal, clean and pleasant and the rooms are well appointed and spacious. The buffet breakfast was varied and very nice. Staff are pleasant and courteous.

Bar prices are high.
