A charming hotel in great location near the attractions. Rooms are quite small, but our terrace was nice. Also a nice surprice was the bar downstairs which served free snacks and even beers in the evening. Breakfast is made to order, and was delicious. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

This was probably the best staff we have ever encountered ANYWHERE! I literally can't find a negative. The property was even prettier that online. The beamed ceilings had to be 12 to 14 ft. The food was great and plentiful. Gracias Roberto. The conciergie all bent over backward to make our stay fun. Literally no complaints.

The property was perfect for walking to so many important sites plus fantastic restaurants and major car free shopping mall. Inside hotel they have 24/7 Cafe-with an extensive, wonderful menu-soup to pastries coffee bar-EVERYTHING, & it’s Free to Guests. The have a great, sit down, breakfast menu which we enjoyed immensely. The wait staff were terrific. Also on every floor fresh apples and cold bottled water in clear refrigerators-How wonderful.

What I didn’t like was that some rooms are really terrible. There’s no window or tiny window facing an AC & wall outside. So depressing it was like being in solitary. I had one of those rooms & I had to get out of it or go nuts. Luckily, a staff member, Ana, took me to see other room options. She was AWESOME. I changed my room on 2nd day-and it was great and I was happy and thankful to her caring about me.

Hotel is walking distance to many of the major attractions, meeting places for tours, and restaurants, which made it incredibly convenient. Everyone was exceptionally friendly—especially the concierge staff whom we turned to constantly for advice, directions, and help with reservations. Breakfast had the same offerings each day but the food was good and very efficient (wait staff worked like maniacs to make sure guests were served quickly and tables turned over to make room for more guests). The cafe at the entrance was free to guests of the hotel—a delightful perk we’ve never run into before and one which we made use of daily. We also appreciated that each floor had a refrigerator full of bottled water right at the elevator making it very convenient for guests. Considering the hotel was in the center of the city, the room was quiet—even when we left the balcony door open for ventilation. Our room was always cleaned perfectly. In general, the hotel was a perfect size and had a nice “vibe”

The room was more “basic” than we expected—comfortable enough but certainly no “frills”. There was adequate storage, for example, but the bureau drawers were hard to open. Even though it was a room with a balcony view, the room itself lacked charm and/or attractive decor. The bathroom was adequate but towels were stiff as a board—probably from too many washes with very “hard” water.

The only downside for me, the WiFi never worked. Nothing else to fault.

The hotel is in the middle of the old town, everything in the historic centre is walking distance. Hotel guests can enjoy a 3-hour free walking tour which was really informative, we learned s lot about CDMX. To top it off the hotel offers free food and drinks 24 hours, perfect gor guests coming from Europe who have their mealtimes a bit mixed up due to the different timezone. During our departure our driver could not reach the hotel due to some demonstrations and therefore closed streets. In a heartbeat the staff organized 2 rikshas to take us and our luggage (4 people-3 week trip through Mexico) to the place where the driver was waiting. A staffmember accompanied us, to make sure we were ok. That is what we call excellent service. (We have stayed in a lot of top class, large, small and as well charming hotels all over the world, therefore have some experience)

My husband and I loved everything about our stay at Historico Central Hotel! Especially the staffs there were top notch! Thank you, Elizabeth, Roberto, Valeria, Didier, Armand and many more!! We can't thank them enough for all the genuine care and love they provided. It was my birthday and they surprised me with a card and a cute gift. They have a cafe that opens 24/7 and almost everything there is included such as drinks, soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Also, the location of the hotel is perfect for a first timer and it's very close to zocalo and other sites. We highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel staff were lovely. We had the most interaction with concierges Elizabeth and Regina who saw to our every request — they offered excellent restaurant recommendations, arranged a capable and professional driver to take us to and from the pyramids at Teotihuacan, and even left us a heartwarming goodbye letter. AND they even tracked down the name of an obscure store we were hoping to visit — they found a proverbial “needle in a haystack” for us! So grateful to them for their top notch service and kindness! The location in the historic center was marvelous — convenient to many top sights. Our room was very clean. And the on premises cafe, which offered a solid variety of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and drinks at no extra cost, was a perk we greatly appreciated! We would stay at Centro Historico again in a heartbeat!

This was one of those rare experiences - a chic, relaxed, international hotel that was distinctly local in atmosphere. For example, there is a small bar-café in the lobby that is open all the time where you can get lots of local Mexican food and beverages at no cost if you are staying there - with the exception of alcoholic drinks which are available for a small charge. The room we had overlooked the street with two small Juliette balconies. The room had very high ceilings, a very comfortable bed, a refrigerator stocked with drinks and a very clean bathroom en suite. There were comfortable sitting areas on our floor and in the extensive lobby. The breakfasts were excellent - where we sat next to a living wall of plants. The hotel is located in the historical central district where we could visit the political activities in the Zocalo nearby, the national art gallery, many other local sites, and also find connections to transit for tours. The streets are lively. The restaurants in the area are great with a wide range of styles, foods, and prices. The people in the hotel are very friendly and very helpful. The local people we met in that district of Mexico City were very kind and helpful to us. This was a great place to stay

The protests in the Zocalo by the encamped teachers on strike, whom we support absolutely, meant that getting a taxi to and from the hotel and airport was incredibly difficult. We had to walk the last few blocks to our hotel when we arrived. The hotel could do more to warn visitors before their arrival and perhaps give visitors some detailed instructions to give the taxi drivers. As we are both older and not from a high altitude location, the 2500 feet above sea level was a little hard on us. Add to that the fact that the air in Mexico City is somewhat hazy and polluted, and that it was quite hot, we found walking a little difficult. We opted for the scenic tour buses and Uber. The beautiful hotel and the kind people everywhere made up for the difficulties we experienced.
