My single room was tiny but cozy warm, clean and comfortable. The twin bed was outfitted with down pillows and duvet comforter, standard issue in a more costly hotel and a pleasure to find here. While the £15 price of breakfast was not included in the room charge, I enjoyed a copious and tasty breakfast one morning, and can recommend the generous and wide selection of food. The location, just steps from the Russell St tube stop, is fabulous for those who want to see performances on the West End or at the theatres around Covent Garden. For a fairly modest charge, you can enjoy the benefits of lodging in a great neighborhood. Good value for the money.

The walls are thin. You can hear your neighbors. But the location is quiet with few disturbances.

The location is fantastic. The art-deco style of the bar was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and good.

Fruit juice at breakfast tasted watered down and not nice. Wallpaper peeling in room. Lobby gents toilet in disrepair, broken seats, only one working tap.

Good location, close to subway, restaurants, British Museum, etc. Very nice hotel, very good interactions with staff.

The rooms we got were in a loft, access only through one small elevator, big discrepancy between hotel lobby and interior of our rooms in terms of look and feel. We would come back here, now knowing what to expect.

booked a single room and the room was much more spacious than i expected. the bed was very comfortable and the window opened which is a bonus for me as i like to get some fresh air into the room. the staff were helpful and the hotel was in a great location for my needs.

Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice with everything continually being topped up. Staff were very efficient. The quality of the food was very good too, for example the bacon was thicker than you normally get and this was the case all four mornings we breakfasted. The location was fantastic, we walked to Covent Garden in about 10 or 15 minutes, but there was also a tube station next to the hotel (Russell Square) which is on the Piccadilly line - takes you straight into theatreland in minutes. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient.

Everything was very good. We have no complaints about anything at all. I can't think of anything that should have been better. This was not as expensive as some London hotels, so relatively it was good value for money.

I had a single room on the seventh floor which was pleasant. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was good. The location is excellent for visiting central London.

There was a constant noise outside my window which overlooked the courtyard; I think it came from some kind of large funnel sending up steam, though I managed to sleep with earplugs. Also, only one lift goes to the 7th floor, and it was out of order part of every day that I was there, meaning that when I left I had to carry my suitcase downstairs to the 6th floor to the other lifts. When I got about half way down, a man who I think worked in the hotel, helped me by carrying my case down the remaining steps. I think it is a drawback having only one lift which goes to the 7th floor.

We checked in here Completely last minute as the apartment we had booked never showed up to give us the keys so we didn’t get here until 10pm. They couldn’t have been more helpful, a room was ready for us straight away and they brought up an extra bed for my daughter within 5 minutes, and he was so polite too. The beds were all so comfortable (and good pillows too!) we weren’t expecting much but we were so pleasantly surprised. We didn’t get much time in the room, quick shower and sleep as my daughter had surgery early the next morning but the shower was great, two different settings and shower gel included. We even asked for late check out because we weren’t going to be back in time from my daughters surgery to collect our bags and they sorted it no problem and didn’t charge us for an extra hour. Recommend thoroughly and we will definitely stay again. Round the corner from great ormand street and really close to everything.

No negatives at all.

The staff we interacted with were superb. I noted the bathroom bin had not been emptied before we arrived, commented on this to a receptionist (Elger) and it was sorted very quickly. I drank a lot of coffee and sugar and constantly requested refills which the staff were very obliging about. We requested an extra hour of room use - no problem. We ate in the restaurant and, again, the staff were excellent, as was the food.

The room (167) was very noisy due to construction outside but, in fairness, this did not really impact too much on our stay. I would, however, request a quieter room next time.

Room was comfortable, no space to spare, but that's expected in London. Shower room was adequate and I give it a 'plus point' for having sufficient rails to hang towels on, this rarely happens in hotels! There was no air conditioning but an open window gave plenty fresh air. I imagine this might be a problem in the height of summer though. The staff (reception, breakfast and cleaners) were all very friendly and helpful.

It would have been good to be able to control the ventilation in the shower room, at times it didn't seem to be on and steam built up a bit.
