The receptionist is a very special person, she handles everything and multi-tasks all day long. The decor is unique and lovely, especially for guests who are interested in historical immersion but still want some modern conveniences. Location is walking distance to markets, attractions, and restaurants.

No coffee in room. Parking in front of hotel is difficult because of narrow street and limited spaces. Bathtub is very high, seniors can have difficulty getting in and out.

Centrally located, easy to find. Restaurants and museums and local sites with-in easy walking distance. Thankful for the early check in, but did not know until I got there and the room was ready in an hour . Did not partake in the breakfast as there are markets for fresh fruit and yogurt and coffee with in 5 minutes walk and Iam a light breakfast eater. This city is small but very interesting for photographs and art, watching people and good food.. as a solo woman traveler I felt very comfortable at the hotel and in the city

There was a taxi strike while I was there..the staff did not offer suggestions or offer to help find alternate transportation to the TGV… Another guest suggest UBER and that worked out fine

The hotel is in a great location within a short walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, and even a market (on certain days). The room was huge and very comfortable; staff were pleasant, helpful, and accommodating; and breakfast was a good value.

Only downside was that parking at local parking lots cost A LOT!

The hotel was perfectly situated, close to everything. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were simple, but had whats needed. Bed was fine. We did not have much contact with the staff, as we didnt pass the frontdesk on our way in and out of the hotel. Loved the streets surrounding the hotel. And the entry way to our room. Felt as if we had a little house in the back.

Only thing was that the bathroom smelled very much of sewer. It was extremely intense when we arrived and we aired out a lot. We told the frontdesk. Not sure if they have done anything since. I think the smell came from the sink. But it didn't smell in the rest of the two rooms.

Charming and peaceful small hotel with good location. Lovely decorations and furniture. We loved our room and bathroom with a view to a garden with birds singing there. Very tasty breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Hope we could return some day.

I had a very comfortable stay here! I loved that the hotel had a more traditional style of decor, as it had a lot of character compared to the modern style hotel room that you could find in any city. The main draw of this hotel is its incredible location- you are close to restaurants and shops but it’s still very quiet. The windows open up to a beautiful street view. I loved that the room had a bathtub too

It would have been a perfect 10/10 stay for me if they had an electric kettle to make a cup of coffee in the morning- I like a cup right when I wake up. Having a little mini fridge would also really increase the value for me! I thought that some of the decor could probably use replacement- the carpet in my room was veryyy tired looking, but obviously this is quite an investment so understandable if they’re waiting to do it later on. Overall, would recommend this hotel and would stay there again 😊

Location is great. There was free street parking. Price was reasonable given location. The hotel original style is preserved with very much everything antique, including the bedrooms which are small, with red carpet, and old furniture. For people who like modern facilities with clean look this is not for you. The rooms are simple and you feel you are at your grandmother's house. Notheless, that helped us feel immersed in that era.

The bathroom was OK. The shower head was only a handheld one, so it can be annoying. Breakfast was not worth it. Staff was kind of cold.

Charming, timeless hotel - with staff who went out of their way to assist me. Comfortable rooms, a lift and a nice street view to boot. Convenient location close to the main street in Aix-en-Provence, quiet and only a shortish walk from the railway station. As breakfast was extra I only tried on the last day and found it more than sufficient - a classic french petit dejeuner complete with coffee, rolls and croissants, fruit and yogurt. Would definitely stay here if came to Aix again.

The shower over the bath is a bit of an issue but manageable.

The location is great. My room was large for European standards and very comfortable. A good simple breakfast is available and the staff was helpful with making reservations and recommendations. I would definitely stay here on another visit.

Well, there is an elevator. It only goes to the third level in my room.(23) was up several stairs. The upside to that is it’s very large and has windows for a cross breeze when needed. Tub shower unit is odd with a strange handheld shower. Not sure if all rooms are that way.

Hotel Cardinal is well located in a quiet street but still near to the city centre. This made for easy walking to all the major sightseeing destinations and also to some excellent restaurants recommended by hotel staff. The décor was charming, a throwback to an older period with many little quirks and interesting furniture. We loved it and would definitely visit again if we have an opportunity.

Just one small point which did not detract from our most enjoyable stay. It would be useful to have a chair in the bathroom. Also a few hooks to hang clothes and towels on.
