Great location. Mostly fantastic staff good breakfast

The description of the room as pool view was incorrect. You could only see the pool if you stood no more than 6 inches from the window otherwise the view was buildings. & sky. Poor meal and poor service on our first night. Disgusting chips but we later noticed other restaurants in Aix served grey soggy chips so perhaps it is a local speciality! We had asked the hotel to book us a taxi from the station. They failed to tell us the taxi was not coming as there was a taxi strike- we had a very unpleasant hour trying to get to the hotel- but generally reception staff exceptionally pleasant and helpful

It is a very welcoming, stylish and comfortable hotel with excellent, English speaking staff and services, for those of us who try to speak French but aren't there yet. The location could not be better. The breakfast was very good and there is a great bar area for coffee, tea or drinks. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Cleaning staff offered a new bottle of still and sparkling water each day.

Minor complaint but as a coffee drinker I do not understand why there is only "Semi-skimmed milk" to add to the espresso that is available from the great machines at the breakfast counter. I don't know if that means 2% milk but regular whole milk, light cream, or half-n-half would be much appreciated.

Excellent premises Good room, very little noise from people passing in front of our door in the corridor, and from the relatively noisy street during the day, we slept well We were nicely welcomed,. Remarkable breakfast, even for somebody used to the Nordic wonderful breakfast

Maybe one detail: the locks of the bathroom and toilet doors were a little noisy, they would benefit from a little grease to avoid waking up your companion. But it is a small detail, compared with the quality of the hotel and the staff

The location was very good with close proximity to the shops, markets and restaurants. We liked the room and the good lighting in the bathroom. There was a kettle in the room which is more of an exception than the rule and 2 bottles of complimentary water. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant in the evening. Sadly we didn't get an opportunity to use the swimming pool as the weather was cold and wet for our 2 night stay.

The cost of parking the car.

Breakfast was wonderful. Hot dishes made to order and plenty of healthy options on the buffet. Delicious! Convenient location 5 mins walk from Cours Mirabeau and train station. Lovely Occitaine toiletries.

Nothing. Warm welcome. Pool was moderate size, but daughter loved swimming while I was able to have a spritz poolside and enjoy my book. All good.

Location ideal for visiting the sights and shops. Modern room and amenities. On-site parking. Staff very helpful.

During the three nights we stayed at the hotel we were unable to use the bar area on two evenings and the outside patio area on another due to large private functions. Consequently we were not able to access the hotel’s facilities entirely-it would have been nice to sit in the bar/lounge area for pre dinner drinks on all the evenings.

The Grand Hotel Roi Rene is exquisite !! Beautifully appointed and nice amenities. Located very close to Cours Mirabeau, within walking distance. The front desk staff is very kind & helpful. Lovely lounge for aperitif and on Fridays, they had live music. Nice sun beds by the pool, and if you go into the lounge, you can let them know you’d like pool side service.

My only complaint: come late afternoon, the pool area and our terrace has many mosquitoes. The hotel will give you bug spray but then you smell like bug spray for dinner. It would be better for the hotel to spray the property.

The buffet breakfast was large with many options,. Eggs and omelets available also. The location was just at the edge of the old town with just one street to enter. Location was easy to drive to and valet parking was available for the underground lot. Bus stop just in front of hotel and convenience stores located across the street. It was too cold to try out the pool, but it was large and clean.

Very beautiful, modern rooms equipped with everything we might need. The bed was very comfortable. the room was pristine. The staff is very professional and super nice, they would go out of their way to help you. I loved this hotel! I also loved the fact that the hotel has a private parking and a nice heated swimming pool.

Beautiful decor and good size room. Very comfortable beds and pillows quick walk into the centre of town

The only small issue was there was no electric shaver socket in the bathroom for charging the electric toothbrush However front desk provided an adapter that worked
