The location is excellent - 5 minutes from Bayeux and easy access to the highway for other locations in the area, but you are in such a serene setting away from any noise. The entire property is meticulously maintained. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed and roomy bathroom. They have a lovely outdoor area for dining and the pool/hot tub/sauna area is very nice. We had a massage in the tree house which was completely relaxing. All of the staff were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

This is so tiny, I hate to mention it, but the bacon on the breakfast buffet was hardly cooked, looked raw, really. Everything else at breakfast was perfect.

Charming Hotel in Nurmedy An ancient house featuring spacious and beautifully designed rooms. The place is very green and well maintained The receptionist had a lovely attitude and patiently waited for our arrival until 10:00 PM. Although we were informed in advance that the spa would be closed, they opened the beautiful little spa in the heart of the forest, which included a hot tub and a wooden sauna. Breakfast was pleasant, but there were no fresh vegetables, despite our request for vegetarian options. The carpet in the room is scruffy and feels unclean; wooden parquet is preferred. A fantastic destination for a trip in the Normandy area, especially for visiting Mont Saint Michel.

Absolutely wonderful. Don’t miss it! My husband and I travel a lot both for work and pleasure, so it’s a high barre when I say this is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The Chateau was built in 1733, and the newly renovated property combines exquisite historical details with every modern convenience you can imagine. The rooms are lovely and spacious, and the bed was heaven. We had a giant bathtub, which I loved, and a walk-in shower, which my husband loved. Huge windows looked out at the French countryside and meticulously landscaped property. The owners have thought of everything, from a place to lock up bikes, a free laundry area, a pool, spa, massage, walking paths, farm animals, and an exceptionally delicious restaurant and bar onsite. You really never need to leave, but if you want to explore Normandy (and you should) the jewel of a town of Bayeux is an easy bike ride away and a great launch for tours of the D Day landings, the famous Bayeux tapestry and excursions to Mont St Michelle. And of course, cider, cheese and all things Normandie. We extended our stay because we loved it so much, and cannot wait to return. Really, don’t miss this.

The grounds were impressive. It was like staying at our own private château. While we were greeted with smiles by the staff when we arrived, most of the time there wasn't anybody standing at the reception desk which made it really seem like a private home. There was outdoor seating and a sitting room. The dining room was always open to sit in. It was quiet and our windows opened to allow us to hear the church bells and the birds singing. The parking lot was hidden from view but close. An electric charging station is available for E15 per night (which is a great price!). The food served at breakfast buffet was great. We also had a very nice dinner there one evening.

There was a little stress on the last little narrow roads that lead to the chateau. They are only wide enough for one vehicle but they are short in length and well worth it! The drive into town is short, about 6-7 minutes. I'm not aware of any public transportation that is close to this location.

Rolling up to the Chateau was a jaw dropper. It’s a beautiful property in the countryside and everything from the staff to the accommodations was amazing. The breakfast is fantastic and an amazing start to the day. We also thoroughly enjoyed the dinners, and didn’t even try to find somewhere else to eat because it would be hard to match the quiet, romantic setting and outstanding food.

Only issue the entire stay was lack of hot water in our room on day two of our stay. However, it was quickly fixed the next morning, and the staff were very helpful with setting up another room for us and ensuring things were made right in the end.

The location, the staff, and the grounds were amazing. We truly loved the spacious room plus the garden view.

I had mentioned this in another review that France overall is very environmental conscience. That means you can't completely control the room temperature. We woke up one early morning and it was freezing for us.

Chateau St. Gilles is located just outside of the charming town of Bayeux. The hotel is amazing! Beautiful rooms, peaceful grounds, lovely swimming pool and a delicious restaurant. Very easy to get to from the train station and into town. Our kids were welcomed and enjoyed the space to enjoy the fresh air!

The Chateau is a stunning place with beautifully manicured grounds. We took the ferry from Poole, UK and drove by electric car. The chateaux has 2 electric chargers and I charged my car no problem. The staff at Chateau Saint Giles were beyond friendly and welcoming - ready to help in any way they could. The breakfast buffet was delicious. There were a variety of pastries, french cheeses, fresh breads, eggs (with option to have them scrambled, soft or hard boiled), bacon, fresh fruit, juices, etc. all set out beautifully. There is a bean to cup coffee machine that you can help yourself too. There were also Nespresso machines in the rooms. The chateaux was only a 10 minute drive to downtown Bayeux and we were grateful to return to its beautiful quiet, grounds after busy days of touring Normandy. The restaurant was also exceptional and I would recommend it to anyone whether you are staying or not. Delicious fresh local food and great wine. Finally the room was lovely, great Nuxe products, lovely bath and shower. Soft comfy linens and bed. We slept well. I didn't realise there was a pool and hot tub but it looked lovely too, as well as a treehouse cabin for spa treatments (next time!). Overall, I would highly recommend Chateux Saint Giles and will be back!

One small request would be to supply Oat milk in addition to Soya (although to be fair I did not ask for oat milk so perhaps it was in the back somewhere).

The location was great, secluded but not far from the center. The premises were amazing, and the room was very big and clean. Everything was provided to us and the staff were fantastic to us and our little one, extremely accommodating always with a big smile on their face. The food was great too and I would love to visit them again!

Exceptional location! Great place to start visits to all the D-day beaches, Bayeux, Caen, Honfleur, Deauville. The hotel was PERFECT ! Rooms were large. Staff and Manager/owner were very nice and helpful. All the area belonging to the hotel was very clean and perfect. The food at the restaurant was delicious with a great price/quality ratio. Free parking availlble. Free wifi.
