The apartment was only small, but we loved it!! The bed was comfortable, the decor was attractive, the apartment was clean, and there was a kitchenette and bathroom. We were sent information about check in and using the door code for entry was easy. The apartments were all on the ground floor with a nice shared courtyard - there was a special vibe about the property. There was free wifi and it felt so luxurious to be able to watch Netflix in the evening, sitting on the comfortable lounge chairs. Sunset was so late at night in June that we used the shutters to create dark in the room. The most wonderful part of the stay, for us, was the location. Bayeux is a treasure!! It is so beautiful. Au Loup Historic Apartments is only a 500m walk to the magnificent Bayeux Cathedral, passing a great boulangerie on the way. Such a fabulous assortment of shops, special sites and eateries not far beyond this. From Bayeux we had organised a trip to visit the D Day sites in Normandy - which was incredible. We had booked three nights, and we could easily have stayed a week. I highly recommend this apartment and the pretty historical town of Bayeux. It was a highlight of our 3 month trip in Europe.

I would definitely stay here again, but would possibly see if one of the larger apartments were available (or pack less). We had a bit of luggage and with our bags open it made things a bit tight. It was a touch pricey, but we discovered we were in town on the anniversary of the D Day landings - so perhaps that is why.

The location was ideal. Easy walking distance for the Cathedral, Tapestry and Museums. There are also a fine selection of very local dining options. We did not use the kitchen to cook, but it was newly fitted, and there was ample cutlery and crockery. Shops were close by, and there was a really nice street market on Thursday and a Farmers market on Saturday. There is free parking in the street outside the apartments. I found a space nearly every day, but there is paid parking a two minute walk away. Bayeux is a truly beautiful place, and is perfect for visiting the wider attractions of Normandy. We will definitely return to Au Loup. I recommend it highly.

There was occasional noise from guests in the apartment above, but I think that would be expected in a period apartment and not a problem to us at all.

Comfortable, nicely decorated, spacious apartment with great cross-ventilation and natural light from the big windows. Very comfortable couch in the living room and super comfortable beds in the two bedrooms. Lovely, light bathroom with a great shower! Apartment 5 wonderfully overlooks both the front entrance/courtyard/street side and the rear/interior courtyard. Easy walk to downtown! Would definitely stay again.

It was difficult to tell *which" #45 building (of several so numbered) was Au Loop until we got out of the car (having parked easily right where the GPS led us), tried the wrong also-white wrought iron gate that was locked, and walked further down the block to where we could see the Au Loop sign with the wolf on it (see photo).

The apartment was excellent, spotlessly clean and airy, with a well-equipped kitchen, if at the top of some very steep stairs. The location is fantastic - a five minute walk to the nearest boulangerie (closed Monday's) and a little further to the centre of Bayeux and the cathedral. Everything is within about 10 minutes from the apartment. Parking is easy on the street outside.

The response from the host could have been better and more sympathetic, when a simple sentence could have solved our problem. The signage to apartments 7 and 8 at the top of the stairs needs to be improved.

The apartment location was fantastic, walking distance just a few minutes to the old centre where there were numerous restaurants. It was also a very quiet location. Everything was very clean and had all essentials. Shower was great and modern. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Just a warning that there are 2 flights of stairs to get to the bedrooms so you need to be physically capable as the stairs are rather narrow and steep. The 2nd bedroom up the 2nd flight of stairs had an ensuite also, which was very handy.

We had no complaints for our one night stay.

We had a wonderful time at Au Loup in bayeux. Everything is wonderfully done in the apartment. Check-in and communication couldn't have been any smoother. We satyed at apartment 2, and it had everything you would ever need. Now, we went out of season and found two parking spots on the street, so i imagine that could be a bit more difficult in summer, because its also very close to the center. We took it with the breakfast option, which was delivered right on time the next morning in a refrigirated bag and it was delicious and had everything. Great stay!

We had an apartment on the first floor, the entrance was off the courtyard. Parking on the street, fairly close to about everything, fully equipped kitchen - including a roll of paper towel! Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom - one strange thing about it was the fact that it’s window was tall and facing the entrance gate. You had to make sure that the drapes were completely closed or you could be sitting on the toilet completely visible from the entrance snd even from the street.

This thing about the window in the bathroom and the fact that I could hear every noise from the courtyard - there were other renters who were leaving very early and I could hear walking and talking. I had an issue with WiFi but my husband didn’t.

The room was perfect for two people. It was essentially a large rectangular room divided in two by the kitchen. Nice sized room and comfortable chairs in the living area.

We were unable to watch tv because it and the subtitles were both in French. We weren’t able to use the coffee maker or induction burners because there were no English directions. Also the oven was a challenge but we were able to figure it out. I know we should have called and asked for help but it wasn’t ever a convenient time to do so. Not blaming the owners as we chose not to message them. Redoing the welcome book to include more would be my only suggestion.

The location is superb,,, a few hundred meters from the Cathedral, close to bustling downtown but just far enough away to be quiet. The building was impressive and well maintained for its age. The apartment was a good size, well equipped and clean. The breakfast was excellent in both quality and quantity.

The staircase up to the second bedroom was precipitous and unfinished, letting down the rest of the apartment badly. It was difficult to get suitcases up to that room, and it was difficult to get down to the bathroom on the floor below in the night because while there was a drop on one side there was no handrail on either side. I should clarify that we had to go downstairs in the dark because although the website information said there were two bathrooms, the one upstairs had no toilet.

Charming pleasant room and facility; good location for exploring the town. By pure chance it was the town’s Medieval Festival; it’s nice that a town has a program of activities.

On booking I selected Chamber 1 (ground floor). We were ‘allocated’ Chamber 7. I selected 1 due to knee pain .. Locking metal plate on bathroom door missing (for us this is trivial, for others this might be more of a concern) Threatening message regarding cleaning.
