We enjoyed staying at the Carcassonne Townhouse in early May and were delighted with our experience. This beautifully restored French townhouse is an absolute gem, ideally situated between the enchanting La Cité Médiévale and the charming La Bastide Saint-Louis. Our grand room was stunning — spacious, and elegantly decorated, with high ceilings and a calm, restful atmosphere that made for a truly relaxing stay. Rachel and Mark, the hosts, were incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure we felt right at home. The breakfasts were a particular highlight — delicious and thoughtfully prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend the Carcassonne Townhouse to couples looking for a stylish and comfortable base to explore Carcassonne, Toulouse, Narbonne, and the wider region.

We absolutely loved this beautiful property in Carcassonne. I is a beautiful house, excellently located between the old town and the downtown area. Extremely clean. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and a little different every day. Rachel is wonderful, very nice and helpful, just a wonderful host and such a delightful person. She helped us arrange a taxi for our departure, and because we would need to leave early, she prepared a breakfast for us to take away! She always has water, tea, and snacks available for the guests, and the lovely house is perfect for relaxation and exploring the entire community. We had a fantastic time at the Carcassonne Townhouse and can’t wait to return! Oh, and the Carcassonne Townhouse has the best view! (See pictures).

Everything is charming. On arrival, you are impressed by the huge front doors and traditional feel. Beautiful period decor and modern facilities, inside a fantastic home. Wonderful breakfast with different continental breakfast selection /pastries /fruit platter each morning. Warm and welcoming host Rachel, who was helpful and knowledgeable with restaurant information, local knowledge, and assisting with bookings and calls in French. Rooms are huge, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Beautifully presented. Good coffee machine in room and water available. Great shower and spacious bathroom. The location was perfect a short stroll from the castle city of Carcassonne and the town. Beautiful gardens and riverside nearby and many, many good restaurants and bars to choose from. Good links to the airport and train station.

The location is ideally located between the Cité and the town. Plenty of lovely restaurants nearby. The train station was a 15/20 minute walk and is well-connected to nearby towns (Toulouse and Narbonne are definitely worth a visit if time allows). The room was really comfortable - it was lovely having the coffee machine in the room and use of the fridge in the breakfast room was handy to keep anything (wine!) chilled. The hosts were so kind and helpful. Beautiful breakfast which was the perfect start to our day.

We chose the Carcassonne Townhouse based solely on previous reviews and we were delighted we did. It more than met our expectations. The property is delightful - a typical French townhouse with lots of character and beautifully furnished. Rachael, our host, was wonderful and provided us with lots of information on the area - things to do & see and also local restaurants to try. Her lovely breakfasts gave us a super start to each day. The location of the property is excellent, being positioned between the Bastide town and the Cité Médiévale - both within walking distance. This was our first visit to Carcassonne - it won’t be our last. This was our first visit to the Carcassonne Townhouse - it won’t be our last!

If you want an authentic stay in Carcassonne this is the place.The 3 storey house has completely been revamped to a high standard.The bathroom we had in room 2 was ultra modern but the decor of bedroom/ living room was kept in old tradition with excellent decoration.The hosts Rachel and Mark were the very best in helping you.The continental breakfasts were the best we’ve had on travels in UK and EU.The personal touch does make a difference between a 5 star hotel and a local B and B.They really have worked hard to build up to a lovely place to stay and of course I would recommend a visit

Amazing location with walking distance to the castle of Carcassonne and the small town, the canal and river walks. The train stations is minutes to walk to and we took a trip to Toulouse. Breakfast was the best I have ever had abroad. The breakfast menu changed each morning with local cheeses and meats and many other delights. Rachel our host and owner was suburb, so naturally friendly and helpful. The townhouse has been beautifully restored with passion and taste. Thoroughly recommend.

Nothing, all was really top notch

The location of Carcassonne Townhouse is perfect, a short walk from both the medieval city and the ´new’ town. Inside, Carcassonne Townhouse is beautifully decorated and appointed and also spotlessly clean. There are so many thoughtful touches that make it a perfect place to stay. Rachael the host is very welcoming and goes out of her way to help guests. The breakfasts served we’re absolutely delicious, a wonderful selection which changed slightly each day. If returning to Carcassonne in the future I would not hesitate to stay her again, it is perfect!

Nothing to dislike

Just back from a 4 night stay at Carcassonne Townhouse. Loved Carcassone but our great choice of accommodation made the 4 nights even better. If you’re looking to stay somewhere with character and a personal touch, this is the place. The Townhouse is quirky and full of character, you can see the effort put in by hosts Rachael and Mark when they lovingly restored it. Informative instructions received prior to visit. Location of Townhouse is ideal for both the Medieval City and Bastide Saint-Louis. Big spacious rooms and a cute garden you can use. Rachael and Mark are fantastic hosts, happy to pass on their knowledge of the area and to assist you with all your requests. Highly recommend.
