The location was exactly what I had wanted, as the other hotel I had booked last year for my visit to Carcassonne, meant some difficulties for me in terms of finding my way to both the castle and the city centre. The location of the Ibis Centre - la cite, meant I had a much better holiday this year, due to the ease with which I was able to find all the places I had wanted to visit. The hotel is also opposite a lovely park with benches under the shelter of many trees. As the temperatures went up to 37 degrees, I found this very important and I could watch the children playing under the water display. Very cooling and restful. Crossing the road to get from the hotel to the park was extremely easy, especially as traffic always stopped to allow people to cross.

I had known that some of the pavements were very uneven, so for me a 76 year-old, I had come prepared. The location of the hotel I had chosen this year meant that I was able to avoid most of the difficult areas in terms of very uneven pavements - of course this is also part of the "charm" of the fact that a lot of these areas are historic and this is what we - the tourists - are looking for.

Rooms are very small but really well equipped. Considering we were over a busy road and a main square, the soundproofin was brilliant and the room was quiet. The location is superb - 5 minutes walk to the town and 15 minutes to the walled city. The staff were ultra helpful and gave us recommendations for restaurants, as well as explaining all the ways to get to the sights with a helpful map. We speak French but their English was better! The breakfast was absolutely superb and they were happy for us to take fruit away for the day. A really lovely stay in a very friendly hotel and we would definitely go back.

The rooms are quite small but we appreciate we are in a very old town where space is at a premium. They were very comfortable and the bed was extremely big so it didn't bother us.

We recently stayed at a hotel in Carcassonne and were happy with our stay. The room was small, almost like a small office, which made it feel very cramped. We had decent views from our room, and the fast WiFi a great addition for helping us plan our trip. The parking facilities were convenient, having to use an underground third party parking, but wasn’t very expensive Making it easy for us to feel like the car was in a safe place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially being able to speak 3 languages. Our room was decent with a small shower, and a TV, which added to the comfort of our stay. The bathroom was small however usable, so no complaints, and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, it was an okay experience for us.

No plug sockets near the bed or USB charging sockets.

It started with a very friendly and professional welcome from two staff and their supervisor. They were proactive, supplying us with a local map and explaining local navigation including good dining facilities without being prompted. The breakfast with extra kudos for the electric orange juicer - best juice this holiday. Location is close to the fortress and a 15-20 minute easy walk to town.

The lift was being restored but this is accepted as just bad luck for us as we had to walk up two flights of stairs.

Location was very good a steady 15 minute walk into the old town and equally to Carcassonne city the objective of our visit. Parked our motorcycles next to the hotel in covered walkway. The 2024 Olympic flame enroute to Paris came past whilst we were there an added bonus.

For some reason the lady on reception the second night told us we could not have a beer or coffee as it was closed. 10.00pm ish ??? The bedroom and bathroom were compact.

The position was excellent, everything was within walking distance. The staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good value.

The rooms are quite small, but not too much of a problem for us. There were no clothes hangers and very limited wardrobe space anyway. The bathroom was a challenge. Very little room to manoeuvre. The other negative is that there are no tea and coffee facilities in the room. However, for the price we paid, it was fine.

Public parking is directly across the street (public and private). Great hot water, and great WiFi. Elevator/Lift. Nice decent-sized clean room. Large bed. Quiet room in the rear. Great location, you can walk to all the important sites. Good lighting and decent number of electrical outlets.

Check-in Woman could have been a little more warm and welcoming.

Enjoyed my stay here. Check in was easy, staff were friendly and spoke some English. A few Euros city tax to pay on arrival in addition to the booking.com fee which I thought I had noticed while booking so no great surprise. Room was clean and comfortable, bathroom fine, temperature inside was good and location was great. Continental breakfast with baguettes, loved it.

Excellent, friendly staff. Clean and really convenient to walk to all parts of La Bastide and City. Breakfast was plentiful and well provided.

Rooms were quite small but manageable. Mainly the door closing mechanism made the doors slam all down the corridor. This was problematic early in the morning and late at night, but not a deal-breaker.

Location was great - not far from the new part of the town and the medieval town. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and the bed was super comfy. Wasn’t expecting much for the price and due to some reviews but was really pleasantly surprised. Staff are brilliant, lovely and friendly. The young girl who was working breakfast this morning was such a hard worker making sure everything was replenished. The staff on the desk were helpful and friendly too.

There is nothing that could be better - really pleasantly surprised. Didn’t know what to expect as was a last minute long weekend trip but Carcassonne is a fabulous place, clean, safe, lovely people lovely place. The hotel was in a great location, near to the airport shuttle at the Dome, easy to walk to all landmarks. The Christmas lights in the garden in front of the hotel were lovely and the Christmas markets in the centre. The hotel staff were great, breakfast was good, the rooms were clean and beds super comfy. Would return
