Great welcome and a really lovely room. The location on Rue Trivalle is perfect for exploring the old city and the new city, and has loads of lovely casual restaurants on it. The rooftop terrace has a view to be rivalled anywhere.

We were only spending one night in Carcassonne and so picked this hotel for its location and price point. We lucked out with the room because we got one on the top floor and overlooking the city ramparts. It is a good location for not being within the medieval city itself - though be warned - it is a 10-minute uphill walk. The room was modern and well maintained, and the bathroom was excellent. The owners are really lovely and were extremely helpful in accommodating our car and pointing out where to go!

If I had to pick, it would be the lack of elevator - we were in a room on the top floor (amazing views) but had to drag 2 heavy suitcases up 5 flights!

Big bathroom, clean, garden view, comfortable, good location, quiet, lovely personnel, enormous cat, deli adjoining the hotel. This is brilliant for buying a picnic to have in the beautiful courtyard garden, including chilled bottles of beer and wine-they will let you have glasses. Quality food, so not cheap, including artisan ice cream for pudding, but a budget option compared to eating at a restaurant. Get your own bread from the nearest bakery.

Be aware that there isn't a lift.

The overall customer experience at this hotel was exceptional from the facilities to the location to the helpfulness of the owners. Without asking, the owner gave us restaurant suggestions, parked our car for us and couldn't have been more helpful. The room facilities were great with many more charging points than is usual in a French hotel - including USB sockets. The view from the Terrace alone would have been enough to make this an exceptional hotel - but that was just one of many facets to it. The water cooler where we could top up our own water bottles was much appreciated and not one we generally encounter on our travels!

Great location, lovely street by the old bridge leading up to the castle. Friendly, welcoming staff. We were on the top floor so had to climb a lot of stairs, but the spiral staircase was beautiful (and fun), and the terrace had a great view. Very comfortable beds.

Breakfast was a bit messy for me. My toast caught on fire in the conveyor belt toaster (charred to pieces) and neither of my soft boiled eggs (done myself with two different timers in the hot water pan) were cooked enough to eat. Lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby though.

Starting with the staff. Wonderful warm greeting and this continued throughout our stay. Staff very attentive and nothing was a problem. The location was magic, with a view of the castle out our window, as well as from the small roof top patio. Out the front door and there were at least 8 cafes/restaurants within 2-5 minutes walks. Overall as good as I could have hoped for. Also coffee machine available in our room. A must have is cassoulet. It is delicious.

Only that a small fridge would be handy. We have found this is common in France. No fridge and when on a road trip, there is a need to keep supplies cold.

Loved the location, very nice staff and extremely clean.

Okay so I’m in my fifties and have a back issue so it was one of those climb in bath showers. It’s not that it was difficult to get into but the lack of a shower Matt and grab handles makes this an accident waiting to happen. I would highly recommend to the property to offer a shower mat and grab handles if nothing else to cover themselves. This is the absolutely only thing that I would recommend otherwise everything else was perfect.

Friendly, attentive owners who were extremely helpful with any requests. Great location close to both the medieval city and the more modern city. Lovely, quiet garden area to rear. Wine shop attached to hotel with good selection of wines.

It’s an older property with a winding staircase that would be difficult for someone with mobility issues but it did not affect the members in our group. The originality of the property adds to the charm of the place.

Excellent location near to Cite Medieval & town centre. The street that the hotel is on has plenty of restaurants to choose from. The hotel owners/hosts couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Delightful hotel garden, which we sat in and enjoyed a bottle of wine & cheese that we purchased from the hotel shop. Very comfortable beds and pillows.
