Room was good and location just down from the Cite main gate was excellent. There is a relatively short but interesting walk into Carcassone via the Pont Vieux including good restaurants in Rue Traivalle 300 metres from the hotel. Great atmosphere there especially on Thursday nights with live music in the summer. Prices there are less than in the Cite.

The internet connection was not good - the hotel was very busy but we didn't like having to login every time and frequently not able to access, It seemed a bit like 30 odd years ago when there was dial up connectivity only. Teenagers particularly were not happy!!

The location of the hotel is fabulous - literally just across the road from the entrance to the walled city. The hotel itself is beautiful, the room was modern opening onto a decked area with outdoor furniture and the air conditioning worked exceptionally well which was very important as the temperature was constantly 40 degrees for the 4 nights we stayed. The pool area is lovely and has lots of shaded areas if you don't want full sunshine and the staff were all very helpful and accommodating. There is a bus service (6 euros per person) from the airport which meets each inbound flight and drops off by the entrance to the walled city just a 2 minute walk away from the hotel. There were no taxis available at the airport so be sure to book in advance if you want one. We got a taxi back to the airport which cost 25 euros.

My only grumble is there was no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I would have liked to sit on the deck with a coffee in the morning but not the end of the world just a personal preference.

The location was fantastic, could not be better. Just a short walk over the road to the medieval city and a lovely view from the breakfast area. The grounds are well kept and the pool was very private. Staff service around the pool is very good. The rooms are tidy and are big enough for what we needed - a base to sleep and change.

The hallway and room decor is very ‘out there’, a little too colourful. The decor in the main reception and bar is lovely but the rooms don’t match. Need another mirror in the room. Only one mirror in the bathroom which meant that you couldn’t get ready whilst someone was in the shower because of the steam. Also meant you were on top of one another as had to share the one mirror.

Beautiful hotel, with an amazing welcome. All the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The bar/restaurant area is lovely, with a great view of the old city (a 2 min walk). Breakfast was lovely, with great quality ingredients. Swimming pool is a nice size and great to cool down in after a hot day and there's a good quantity of sun beds, chairs and cabanas. There is secure parking at an extra cost. Rooms are clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Note that many of the rooms are located across a quiet road at the rear of the hotel - still only a 30 sec walk from reception/bar. We'd happily stay here again.

Not exactly a complaint, but we found our room decor a little odd. The hotel from the outside is in a very pretty traditional French style but our room was painted in a "funky" yellow with black tiger stripes which was out of keeping - and more like some Ibis hotels I've stayed in! I think having a more traditional decor would have been nicer. This said, certainly not a deal breaker and wouldn't stop us staying again.

The location is superb - sitting on the terrace having a glass of wine looking at the medieval walls was a real treat. Pollux the dog was very friendly, as were the lovely human staff at the hotel. The spa is excellent and well worth the extra cost.

The decor is a bit out there and perhaps a bit tired in places. The lock on my room door was really tricky, and very hard to lock from inside my room. The shower head over the bath didn’t work and the bath tap came off in my hand. There were what looked like dead spiders and cobwebs on the bathroom ceiling. The cushions on the terrace seating have seen better days, and the sofas are uncomfortably low down when you sit outside.

We stayed in a standard room which was very small- so would upgrade next time. Staff were lovely and very welcoming and ordered our taxi to the airport. We used the pool which was great Excellent location about 6 minute walk into the castle walls.

Standard room bathroom is almost too small- partner is 6ft 3 and struggled to actually get past the door, sink and then to the toilet. So definitely go for the larger rooms

The location was superb for our needs, being just a couple of minutes walk from the Medieval City. The rooms were very comfortable, if small. We were each in deluxe double rooms but, if there had been two people in each room, it would have been a squash. The decor was eccentric and the colour scheme "unusual" i.e. wallpaper in Barbie pink and orange! It wouldn't have been my choice but it worked! Breakfast was certainly adequate and fresh and the apple juice supplied in a carafe was really good. and the garden terrace was a lovely place to sit, read and have a drink in the evenings, overlooked by the City.

Parking was a bit expensive at €15 per night but very secure and useful. No major niggles at all.

The location was ideal for the City. I don't think it could have been better. The room was very comfortable and the air conditioning was perfect, although we switched it off later in the day as we don't like to be too cold at night. The breakfast was good. Fresh apple juice, fruit etc. More than adequate, but I think a little expensive. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was nice to be able to get something to eat when we came back from the concert late.

We were surprised there were no tea making facilities in the room. We English do like our tea and I like to make my wife a cup that she can have in bed in the morning.

Liked the location as it was a few minutes walk to the Narbonnaise Gate of the Medieval City. Liked being able to use the pool and bar of Hotel du Chateau across the road. This is where the reception to both hotels can be found. Very helpful and cheerful staff. We chose a room with a garden view which was quiet. We were able to visit the city in the early morning and again in the evenings when it was less busy. Caught the bus from the airport.....show the driver your hotel address and he tells you which stop you need. For the hotel it is Cite, stop 4- the last one. Then a short downhill walk to Hotl du Chateau and the reception.

Our second stay at The Montmorency. Love the location and the facilities. It is perfectly placed below the old city gates, and not too far from the lower town(Bastide), which is well worth a visit.

Only one gripe. The bathroom in our room, this time round, was too small. But this was only a minor inconvenience. Other rooms are available, and I'm sure changes can be made if not too busy.
