The location of the hotel is excellent. Our room was a good size with an extremely comfortable bed, together with a spacious bathroom. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.

The lighting in the room was very dark and we needed the lights on at all times. The shower was above the bath and we feel that in this day and age it would have been preferable to have been a free-standing shower. We ate in La Barbacane restaurant on one night during our stay and although the food was extremely good the selection was a little disappointing with several fish dishes but limited alternative, such as a vegetarian course. The staff and the food's presentation were first-class.

The location is amazing, as was the staff (front desk, restaurant, concierge, maid service, luggage service - everyone and everything). We celebrated a birthday dinner at the hotel, and they made sure that everything was perfect. We ate breakfast at the hotel every day and had one dinner, and all were excellent. We would highly recommend the hotel and would love to return. We have stayed at many top hotels around the world and this is high on the list.

There was loud music (a band) playing one night for what appeared to be a private party at the hotel and it detracted from the overall dining experience. The early evening music in the gardens also did not reflect the peaceful beautiful location. Our room was lovely but the hotel will need some upgrading soon (e.g., the door handle from our room to the garden area fell off the first time we used it (although it was very promptly repaired) and the furniture in the room did not match the overall exceptional quality of the hotel).

Beautiful olde world hotel in the medieval city of Carssaconne. It’s location within the walls was outstanding. Beautiful public spaces and great pool.

The service was so slow at the outside bar area. We sat inside for 10 minutes beside the bar and no member of staff approached us to enquire if we would like to be served. So we moved outside to the terrace…. Another 10 minutes and I gave up waiting and went looking for a server. I ordered my drink and waited a further 15 minutes to receive the drink. So disappointing. The room was lovely but only had mirrors in the bathroom. Not so easy to get ready for dinner with one person steaming up the mirror and the bedroom has no mirror. Such a simple oversight to fix. Breakfast was good. All the hot food and coffee was only warm!!

This is an absolutely spectacular hotel. Nestled within the medieval walls of the traffic-free city directly across from the 14th century cathedral, it offers first class service and all the amenities, plus an absolutely fantastic view of the village below. It's obvious that management has meticulously selected their staff both for their genuine friendliness and for their multiple language capabilities. Hotel staff met our small group at the taxi stand just outside the walls, and kind and reliable Ramon ran all our luggage up into our rooms with his car, letting us stroll into the city unencumbered with luggage, and then carried it all back down to the taxi stand again for us at check out. Breakfast was superb and continuously well stocked. The omelettes were great as were the numerous pastries and croissants. The "Library" bar is a centerpiece of the hotel, complete with historical books and manuscripts, and a real "trap door" in the wall the staff uses to quickly move about the hotel. Rooms were large, and beds were very comfortable. It seems like hotel management has thought of everything and missed nothing to ensure a delightful stay. A perfect 10.

This is such a beautiful hotel, you are right in the centre of la Cite and it has the most beautiful garden behind the walls. Incredible views off the terrace and the one of the comfiest beds ever. The spa was fab, the music played around the garden was fab the whole ambiance was perfect.

All of the staff were amazing inside the hotel, at reception, the spa, the guys who drop you down from the car park all of them were 12/10 could not have done enough however the staff on the bar in the garden were the only let down of my stay here - the were rude and huffed whenever you asked to order something everything was an inconvenience to them, this was on several occasions not just the once. It was so disappointing as everything else was so perfect.

The location was superb - the hotel is inside Carcassonne. The room was very nice - large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fine - plenty of options from the self-serve buffet plus you can order other options from the staff: a selection of yoghurts and local cheeses, breakfast cereals and fresh fruit in addition to the standard hot food: sausages, bacon, eggs. A really good selection of pastries. A really nice lounge area in the hotel with live music in the evenings - a great place to spend some time with your favourite people.

Due to the time of year, the outdoor pool was closed.

location location location and feeling of having a place to escape from crowds. beautiful property with even more amazing pool and outdoor sitting area with amazing views! great bar and restaurant (breakfast was served at there also). definitely pooches are welcome and treated as family members. you need to stay 2 nights at least!

COMPLAINT JUST FRIENDLY REMINDER! oh my!!! it is true labyrinth with few buildings combined and staircases going up and down with 2 flights or 3 steps only. it was fun to roam around and trying to find the room. THIS IS NOT

Restaurant is amazing. Highly recommend the dinner, it was delightful. Breakfast is perfect, with plenty of selections. Location couldn’t be better.

The pictures of the family room are misleading. We thought the children would have a separate loft area, the room did not have the loft area, it was one large room with a twin couch bed and an additional cot set up. This is usually considered a quadruple room, not a family room, so the space was very small and difficult to maneuver in with older children. It would be ok for families with small children.

Great place, historic building, in the best location. Very gentle and kind service by the hotel staff. Very nice breakfast buffet. Nice and warm cocktail bar in the library. Very convenient and helpful service of drivers to carry bagage and guests from private parking to the hotel in the citadel.. Nice spa and massage service but somehow small.

Impossible to book a table in the restaurant for dinner even with enough time in advance.. A lot of good alternatives around tough..Private parking convenient and highly recommended but expensive.

it’s beautiful and the location couldn’t be better!

2 things that don’t change my 5 rating: - our rooms were in an annex right across the street fro a noisy restaurant that began playing LOUD music each morning before 7am. - there is ONE taxi service in Carcassonne and if there is a private car company, I couldn’t find it. We arranged for pick up at the train station, through the hotel. This really means nothing. It was very apologetically explained to us at check in. IMHO, the Hotel needs to tell clients to just get in the taxi queue and wait with everyone else. Going back to the station FROM the hotel was great, but they really can’t guarantee pick up at the station and I would have preferred they just tell me that and we could’ve avoided a lot of frustration.
