I think the hotel is constructed so that ALL the rooms have a view of the old city - certainly it would be very disappointing not to have that view, which is spectacular. We arrived at night and looked across the river to the floodlit walls - outstanding. There are hotels in the old city itself, but this one may well have the best view of it from the outside. While we were there the temperature hit 40 celsius (104 fahrenheit), and the AC in the room was absolutely fine with that - a great relief. Also the swimming pool, while small, was good to cool down in.

Can't think of anything - we wanted to walk around the newer city to eat, so we didn't try the food.

The room had a lovely view, great location. The room was kept very clean, but adequate in size. The bar and restaurant was great with a excellent view. Swimming pool was good with an outstanding view.

Booking.com should make it crystal clear the the restaurant and bar is closed every Sunday and Monday for what seems to be a private party. Although the staff member was serving the private party and even though I was standing at the bar staff member said she could not serve me. Being in a four star hotel with no restaurant or bar facility for two days out of a four day break was disappointing. Also you quote car parking at 10 euros a day, it is in fact 15 euros a day!

Beautiful views of the cité, even from the pool (which I hadn't realised)! The beds are large and very comfortable, and the location is ideal, exactly between the old town and the cité, allowing you to walk to multiple locations in around 10 minutes. The shower room was very clean and modern, and the separate shampoo and conditioner, along with shower gel, was really appreciated.

When I first arrived, the door connecting my room to another room was unlocked on both sides, so I had to ask for help to get that locked (although it was quickly resolved). The only other thing was that the people working at the bar seemed surprised that I would want a cocktail at 9pm on a Saturday, but maybe it was just a quiet evening for them.

It is a unique and very comfortable rooms Hotel .bedding and viscounts are excellent, underground parking. Amazing location next to the castle and it’s walls.

There were no hair drier or sleepers in the room fpr being a 4 * could be improved. As regards to the breakfast absolutely not recommended … as they have a pathetic little choice and only ham and hard boiled eggs as a salty part of it …breakfast time is from 7-10 . At 9:40 I was sold at the reception ( and not only to me ,there were several other guests after me ) there wa a promised freshly squeezed juice (there was was only the concentrate of full of sugar!!!) No bread or pastries and breakfast manager said we have no more ) that’s for the price of €18 per Person , hilarious . I would liken to be refunded for this terrible “breakfast” experience as I had to go to another pastry shop afterwards to have a decent one … Enjoy the hotel but avoid breakfast !!!

The room was a really good size, a comfy bed. The bathroom was spacious and had a good supply of toiletries and lotions which was nice. The views from the restaurant on the 4th floor and the rooftop were really good. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Two days in a row there was no soap in the customer bathrooms on the ground floor (we used our own hand sanitiser). The TV seemed to cut out French channels after a few minutes and force us into a sign-in view for paid-for entertained (Netflix, Amazon etc), rather than let us watch the local channels.

Brilliant location right by the bridge to the old town. Fabulous view from rooftop bar. Modern, clean comfortable hotel. Nice small indoor pool area. Water dispensers on each floor are a plus too.

Overall very good. A mini fridge would have been a nice extra feature.

Access to hotel from undergound carpark was brilliant. Staff were very helpful and lots of staff at reception to help with anything Spectacular view from roof top bar and restaurant of the citadel as hotel was just over the old bridge; easy to walk to various places of interest. Did not have breakfast so not sure about food AC worked so well in sweltering hot climate of 39 degrees Oh yes and very comfy beds!

The pool was a little small and indoors but that was better than not having a pool at all

The location of the hotel was great to see both the citadel and the medieval town as it is located directly by the bridge linking the two areas. The check in process was efficient and staff were helpful, particularly the guy on breakfast duty on our first morning. The view from the rooftop was great and from the breakfast room though better when the doors were open as the glass was a little marked. The rooms were perfectly acceptable for our needs and the place seemed very clean overall. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a short stay if the citadel and old town are on your list.

The view from our balcony was a little limited as we were only on the first floor but that was ok for two nights and I think we could have upgraded for a better view if we had wished.

The property was modern and had a really good vibe. It’s not like a regular hotel with a reception area for booking it was a couple of young French individuals sitting by a laptop in black trousers and black branded T-shirts booking you in which to us took the stuffiness out of the way hotels operate. It was more like meeting friends who greeted you on your arrival. All staff spoke very good English was language wasn’t an issue. The hotel is quirky with dark walls mood lighting similar to the rooms but it works. The room we had wasn’t the biggest but it was comfortable and the toilet was separated from the shower room which was a blessing, especially for anyone who has a partner who spends ages in the shower. The hotel is decorated with art throughout which is available for purchase. The breakfast was typically French with various selection of cheeses, meats, cereals and yogurt along with cakes and fruit. Overall this was a very comfortable snd pleasant stay, much more of an experience than a hotel stay. All the staff were very accommodating, friendly and professional, my only disappointment was that I didn’t get anyone’s name to give them a shout out but all the girls in the reception area were fabulous. We checked out on the day of the Euro 2024 game between Spain and France so not too sure what the mood will be in the morning but I’m sure this wouldn’t impact the staff too much.

The wasp that bothered us at the roof top open area but there’s not much the hotel could do about that. There’s nothing that I didn’t like about the hotel.

Amazing location on the river with a fantastic view of the old city from the room and the restaurant. Secure underground parking was a bonus and not expensive at 10 euros. We ate in the restaurant which had a great menu and very good food. The pool was being painted so unable to use it but the view again is amazing. You cannot beat this hotel for location, amenities and value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful and the beds were super comfortable. We were given an upgrade with a small balcony and fab view.A great place to stay for a visit to Carcasonne!

The only criticism would be that our room was quite small and the dark decor made it feel even smaller. Having said that, it is in keeping with the theme of the hotel..just not to our taste. Would however stay again if visiting the city. If you're not going to be spending much time in your room the hotel is pretty hard to beat in terms of value!
