Very good location near the river and walking distance to everything you need or want to see. Large very comfortable bed and room kept very clean. All staff were happy and friendly and always eager to answer any questions or give you valuable information !

We were in a room backing onto a narrow alleyway which did not let in a lot of natural light. Even with the double glazing windows it was noisy at night especially from the “doof doof “ cafe/nightclub close by and patrons using the alleyway to stagger home at five o’clock in the morning ! The sides of the bath were high and you have to be very careful climbing into the shower with not much to hold on to !

Perfect location—we could walk everywhere. Many (many!) restaurants, bars and stores in the direct neighborhood. Our room was very clean and everything was in good working order. The night clerk did an EXCELLENT job helping us when our pre booked taxi failed to show up for our early dawn transport to the train station. I wish I knew his name—he completely handled our situation and we (barely) made our train!

The rooms are small for 2 people. We couldn’t leave 2 suitcases open. And there was a twin bed under the regular bed! Could anyone actually put 3 people in that room? But, unfortunately we stubbed our toes on that hidden bed several times!

1: staff - all lovely! 2: spotless - everything is clean! 3: location - walking distance to many of the sites; a bit of a hike from the train station but nice on a nice day. If not, you can take a team. 4: Wi-Fi - works very well.

1: breakfast seemed pricy so I opted not to pay €14. 2: the air conditioning and the bathroom fan are noisy - they clatter. You have to turn it down or off not to hear it as loudly. 3: random gnats flying around - not sure how they get on. 4: motion light in 5th floor corridor doesn’t work. Had to use phone to find my room.

My first time in Lyon and I couldn't have picked a better location in central Lyon, close to shopping and bars and also Vieux Lyon (old Lyon) is just a walk across the bridge that's less than 50m from the entrance. Compliments also to the absolutely brilliant receptionists who offered excellent advice upon arrival and were always willing to help.

Nothing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lyon.

The hotel was in a great location walking distance to most attractions as well as close to many pubs bars and restaurants. The staff were super friendly and helpful, check in and check out were very smooth hotel was nice and clean and they have a facility to hold bags after check out which was super helpful

The room had minimal natural light as the window was overlooking three other walls it almost felt like a tower

The location on the "island" is near the footbridge across the Saône River and in and among cobbled streets filled with fine restaurants and a robust night life. Great for travellers who like to walk. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

The elevator doesn't service the sleeping floors directly, so you have to go up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room. Particularly inconvenient for getting luggage to the room.

The staff here was very friendly and super helpful. The breakfast was good with a number of options to select from. The best part of my stay was just how clean the room was. I actually saw my reflection on the sink and shower faucets.

There are only 2 negatives - the first is the weird elevator situation. You select your floor but upon disembarkment you have to go up or down about 6 steps to get to your actually floor; and the second is the harsh lighting in the bedrooms. It was bright white but the bathroom had warm yellow.

Ideal location - easy walking distance to the old town, Bellecour, Hotel de Ville etc and tons of great bars and restaurants ! The room and bathroom were both on the small side but had everything we needed including a kettle, and an iron and ironing board were available to borrow from reception. Staff were helpful and we did use the laundry service which was pricey but quick. Air con in the room was also good.

The building is old but all rooms are renovated, there is an elevator that takes you up and you have to take a few steps to the room, the staff is amazing, with an special shout out to Lisa who was really kind to give us tips from the city. It is also located in the best neighborhood

Travelled with our granddaughter and thoroughly enjoyed four nights stay, staff were friendly, and accommodated our request to have our rooms together! Absolutely perfect location. Fabulous cafe practically on our doorstep that served great breakfasts, and scrumptious food in general. Would definitely recommend BWLSA and we would also choose to stay there again.

Honestly we can't really think of anything negitive about the place!
