Central to local amenities, hotel staff were welcoming and attentive. Hotel is modern & has great characteristics.
- my first room was on 4th floor, lift not working so had to carry 30kg of luggage down a flight of stairs. The lady who checked me in (I think she sounded English but I cannot remember her name) helped me with my luggage. -first room (41) I got given was the single small room which is what I booked but it was far from clean, dust everywhere (see picture of one example) and not given a detailed clean to a basic hotel standard. Again thankfully to the amazing reception staff they moved me into another room which was spotless (43).

The staff at the hotel were always very friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Although small my room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The central location made it easy to reach most sights.
There was almost no storage in the room other than a very small closet with one high shelf that was difficult to reach. There were no other shelves or drawers to store clothing. I felt like I was living out of a suitcase which for one night might have been ok, but not great for a 5 night stay.

Loved the entrance, lobby and personnel at the reception. It's a great location and the decoration inside is really nice as well. Breakfast had a lot of options and was of high quality.
I only had a 1p room that is supposed to be small, but I hardly had space for my suitcase at all. The bed was probably too old and I was laying in a pit rather than a well supported surface. Also, the decoration of the room was slightly inconvenient (a big picture frame not even 10cm above the bed) and old fashioned (bathroom was a beige that was used 20 years ago).

I liked the look and feel of the hotel, both inside and out, as well as the homey feeling that comes from the owner's low-key dog sleeping under a chair in the lounge. But the front desk personnel are the ones who really made my stay an excellent experience. When I arrived, I asked for an interior room in the back and got not only the interior room but also a free upgrade. The room had what appeared to be a newly redone bathroom with two sinks. The receptionists were always friendly and helpful (esp the Spanish one). Finally, the hotel has an excellent location in a district with many upscale shops and reasonably priced restaurants. The Spanish receptionist referred me to one of my two favorite restaurants during my stay; it was not in any guide book (Le Comptoir des Marronniers). The maid was very hardworking and kept my room spic and span. Place Bellecour is a block away and Gare Perrache is about 10" away by taxi (or 20" walking). Vieux Lyon is about 15" away in another direction.
Perhaps three things: 1. the room's air conditioner broke down and, although the staff moved quickly to get a repairman, it was a weekend and no one would come, so I made do with a fan (which was actually preferable to me); 2. I didn't like the "low-flow" taps on the sinks, which sprayed in all directions; 3. the optional in-house buffet breakfast looked skimpy to me, so I did not partake (but everything looked fresh and tasty).

Great privacy, great sound insulation from both the street and the other rooms. Beautiful building in a great location.
All old buildings have their little challenges and there were a couple of small things I'd love them to address if possible- the elevator is a godsend but it doesn't quite match the level of the floor, and that is not marked in any way. They probably can't adjust it much, but marking it so people don't catch their toes would be wonderful.

The staff members were warm and helpful every time we came and went, and they had useful information about taxis and restaurants. We stayed twice, with one night away between stays, and they were able to store our suitcases for us. Each room was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The location was great for exploring via Lyon's excellent transportation system and was a short walk to Vieux Lyon and other interesting neighborhoods. The hotel isn't luxurious but it's very nice, and great value.
We wanted a simple breakfast of eggs but they weren't available. The breakfast buffet was a bit pricey, so we went elsewhere.

The staff was wonderfully helpful and the location was perfect for exploring Lyon in all directions! The room was a comfortable size and was quiet. A kettle was provided upon request. I was switched to another room when the WiFi was not reaching/working in the room I was upgraded to. The hotel had a very stylish lobby.
There were no power outlets near the bed.

The room was tiny, however I had everything I needed there. The bed was convenient, location of the hotel is excellent - literally 5 minutes from the old town, very close to shopping street. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the New Years, I felt very festive. Great breakfast, highly recommended to take it.
thin walls. Could literally hear my neighbors having sex and greeting their relatives with the new year - could distinguish words. Luckily, they went to bed shortly. The policy with water is a little "droughting". To have drinking water, you should come down to reception and ask for a jar of clean drinking water, they give it without any issue. I drink a lot and it was it a bit annoying to go down every time, however I understand that it is made to save some water, not to use plastic etc. Not a disadvantage as such, but something to be taken into account, when planning your stay.

Location , staff super friendly and helpful, comfortable stay in a nice hotel with a lovely restaurant.
On the booking.com website the hotel was advertised as having Parking. In fact it does not have parking . The staff however were very helpful in suggesting alternative public paying car parks. They also allowed us to unload and reload our luggage outside the hotel on the street.

The hotel itself is lovely / near the center and the two rivers. Belle époque devore but modern.
no street parking on Lyon anywhere in the city center and the paid garage parking was 35€ everywhere for the night! Also, although the hotel is on a side street its very noisy late into the night on weekends with cars roaring through. Must be a short cut to a club or something!
