The host, Franck, is a caring and warm individual. Very welcoming and helpful. Very hospitable! We also loved Raymond and ZaZa, his adorable miniature pinschers. The property is a well-loved and tended, truly a hidden gem! There is a very nice pool, the interior patio is lush and cozy, especially at night with fairy lights and lamps everywhere. After some guidance from Franck, we decided to walk about 20 mins. to Longchamps then caught a trolley to the waterfront and enjoyed an excellent, leisurely lunch outside. Later we strolled around the Vieux-Port de Marseille (inlet) to 2 Quai du Port and took the little train tour (Les Petits Trains de Marseille) as our time was limited and walking around would not have allowed us to see very much. It was so worth it! The World Cup of Rugby matches last weekend had the city hopping with lots of fans from the UK - the atmosphere was a lot of much fun! In the evening, we did a little food shopping at a local Carrefour before returning and had a nice, light meal at the apartment. Slept great and our *taxi picked us up on time to get us to the airport by 6:30 a.m. *(I gave Franck the driver's mobile number and hopefully he still has it - a very professional young guy named Ahmed who loves to practice his English. If you need a cab, please give this hard-working family man a try.)

Shower was a bit challenging - very hot water and overhead shower head was inoperable (for us). However, the hand-held shower head worked fine. Care is required due to temperature of water. No AC but with both fans running, we slept very well. Pillows were just a bit hard for me, but that is a personal preference.

I liked the hosts, Frank and Gilbert, very much. They have 2 lovely small dogs and a cat (the cat may have been a visitor). The room had everything we needed. The hosts put on a great breakfast, much more than we could eat. There's a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the apartment and the nearest metro station is just a 10 minute walk away. The dip pool was very welcome at the end of a hot day.

There were fans, but no air-conditioning in the room we were in. It felt a little humid at times. The neighbourhood is not a glamourous one. I would not advise moving the car once it is the underground parking (located in the next street) if you are not familiar with driving in France. Beware of mosquitos in the garden area.

Everything! Loved it from the moment we walked in, quirky, everything was explained in detail by Franck . The pool looked so inviting but the weather hadn't warmed up enough. The apartment is large.The bakery on the corner provided fresh crossiants, the butcher also had an amazing array of produce. The local bar was quaint and we chatted via translator! The walk into the city is doable about 35 mins.

This is the best stay in Marseille with family! Very comfortable, clean and authentic apartment with all required. King size bed, cabinet and garderobe in the bedroom, sofa bed (full king size after opening) in the main room. Kitchenette with all tableware, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, teapod. AC in the main room and bathroom. Wide beautiful bathroom with shower. Swimming pool, garden, as well as coffee and tea are included in the cost. Pool is just perfect! Pharmacy, bakery and grocery store are nearby. For families with children and long stay definitely recommend, there is a beautiful park in 10 min walk.

Mosquitoes outside, but this is not house problem.

the flats are spacious and offer everything one needs for a stay in Marseille, bed was comfy, shower was very good. the garden with pool offers a break from the buzzing city. it feels like you land somewhere else. the cherry on top are the hosts, Franck, Gilbert and the two small dogs. their warm welcome makes you feel like you are visiting friends. the underground parking place is also very welcome.

nothing not to like

Big room with everything we needed! :) So nice to have a small kitchen, utensils and fridge where we could whip something up to bring with us. Especially the espresso machine saved me in the mornings! Bed & pillow was also extremely comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the pool area but it's always nicely kept and looks really peaceful. Since we wanted to drive out to small fishing towns outside of Marseille, we had a rental car with us. The free parking in a secure underground, 2 mins walk away from the apartment, was a god-send. Last but not least, Franck, Zaza and Raymond was so friendly and enchanting! It was such an authentic place and truly lovely stay, we will be here again!

Not a minus only a note: If you will only take the metro to explore Marseille, you will do a small downhill / uphill walk in your flats. The bus stops closer to the house.

The undisputed assets of Casa Ammirati are :First of all, Franck, the host, charming, witty and truly friendly and then the amazing dreamlike garden he has created in the middle of a big city - what a surprise! Let's not forget the delicious fresh breakfast he prepares for his guests treating them as such indeed! The rooms are decorated in a successful colourful mix and match style, so original!

The location is somewhat away from the centre - but there is a bus stop near and for people travelling with a car the garage included in the price is certainly a plus. The bed was too French for my taste, meaning rather small. Apart from that everything else is great!

Very nice owner and easy communication. Nice, sunny and big apartment with view on the garden. Nice swimming pool with extra towels. Well equipped.

Unfortunately the location is not so great. There is good public transport, but there is nothing nice in the immediate vicinity. The street is very dirty. There is dog poop everywhere on the pavement. My daughter stepped into some fresh dog poop just in fort of the house. It is probably better if you have a car.

The very warm welcome by the hosts (and their sweet dogs), the internal garden (colorful and cheerful and with a pool, which unfortunately we could not use to the weather), the well equipped appartment

The apartment was a bit further away from the underground that I thought. Going downtown with my elderly parents was not the easiest.

The location was a bit difficult from car parking perspective, but I have to add that the host was very helpful in welcoming and getting the car parked in his garage.
